A low carbon life style. Please!! I guess you must have purchased carbon offsets when you flew. Or did you plant a tree for each mile that you flew? After all, that makes it ok.

God sure musta' needed a lotta' help to "raise" the sea level in Noah's day (How was it he had to need help to raise the sea levels, but none to lower them back down?) or after He lowered it for the Israelites to cross the "Reed Sea" (literal rendition, I believe), to raise it up quickly enough in order to drown the whole Egyptian army in ankle-deep water. Those sure musta' required a big bunch of those carbon flames, and quite quickly, at that.

    Again-
If these two islands could already have disappeared, merely by the sea level rising 6", taking the average figure, that would mean that likely they were already underwater on a daily basis, considering the average tide varies more than 6 inches, every day.

Kinda' like New Orleans - maybe one ought to consider finding someplace not quite as subject to flooding- ya' think??

Outta' curiosity, I wonder how much do the flame of the article cited and that of the OP, contribute to the carbon in the atmosphere??

    Three-page limit.

Final comment - it was the climate-change deniers I was calling 'Flat Earthers'. I really don't understand what motivates them at all; I certainly can't see any religious motive for it (quite the opposite) so I can only conclude it's because they want to keep driving their SUVs to the end of time.

    That is what I thought.

There is a lot of agnotology going on this board when it comes to climate change.

Agnotology concerns culturally consructed ignorance. I'll start a new thread on this when I have time.

I don't deny that the earth's climate is changing. It has been changing since the day of Creation. I just do not accept that the continual changes - warmer - cooler - warmer - cooler - have anything to do with man's activities.

I also find it humorus that the person that started this thread is living a bi-continental lifestyle - jetting back and forth across the ocean - while lecturing us about global warming.

Are you sure that God called you to lecture us about global warming while contributing to it yourself?

Definitely sure! Too many doors that were shuttered and bolted opened at just the right times for me not to believe that God was leading.

Do you follow where you see God leading?

One door we consider a major door. People have come into our lives just at the right time, withoug our going out searching for people, who need a place to live for the amount of time we are to be away. So they have lived in our home. As I said, we have never advertised, never gone out looking for peole, God has simply brought people with housing needs into our lives at the right time.

I know you can blow this off as merely a coincidence, but isn't that the way God always works?

Again, do you are are you willing to follow God where he leads?

These people that came to your door - where they ecomigrants?

And if God is sending people to your door for housing why don't you stay home to take them in instead of jetting off to another continent?

Not quite that way. What difference does it make how we met them? You question implies, to me, that you doubt God's ability to solve peoples problems on his own.

One we met at a football tailgate party.

One we met on a walk through our neighborhood.

One we met at a shoe store.

One was the associate pastor of our church who needed a place to live for a few months before moving to California.

One was our neighbor who was remodeling his house.

God brought them to us, we did not go out looking for them.

Are you willing to follow God where he leads?

Why not - when it has been amply demonstrated? I find that a very odd attitude and akin to that of the geocentrists and Flat Earthers of the 16th and 17th centuries, hence my comment.

Actually the scientific community is of a mixed opinion. Perhaps not all of us are convinced by what you consider to be ample demonstration.

Odd attitude... that I am capable of independent critical thinking?

As I have said, the scienctific community is of a mixed opinion and I am under no obligation to follow the politically correct opinon of the day.

But if the anthropogenic climate change claimers are correct, then you're taking a huge risk, aren't you?
