The main beneficiaries are the members of the international corporate world, the military establishments (pretty much one and the same) especially of the U.S. and Israel, and the politicians who support it all (ditto). With the U.S. economy riding a series of speculative bubbles while the real growth and wealth creating activities are shipped overseas, in particular to the rising economy of China, there is little in the way of home grown wealth left to be harvested (other than the largesse of government bailouts to the banks and corporations and the largesse of government military contracts that support a wide array of industries related to military provisioning). The “global war on terror” deception provides the excuse, the rationale, the motive, and most importantly the means, to extend U.S. corporate/political/economic control over the Middle East (mostly, but because of its very broad definition, the war could go anywhere) for its natural resources (mainly oil and gas) at the same time attempting to contain and counteract the rising influence of China and the ongoing interests of Russia in the region.

Israel is quite happy to benefit along with all this. Riding on the U.S. stagecoach of spreading freedom and democracy at the end of a gun-barrel so that U.S. corporations can continue to rake in the wealth…but wait a minute…with corporate and political leaders in the U.S. bowing obsequiously to the Israelis, from Obama to Jimmy Carter (whose letter of apology to the Israelis came as his grandson was running for a Georgia senatorial seat) perhaps Israel is not riding on the stage coach but is riding with reins in hand while the U.S. rides shotgun on their own coach. The U.S. has contributed enormously to Israel, both financially and militarily. The relationship is not all smiles and roses, but the strength of the Israeli lobby and the apparent U.S. desire to maintain Israel as its forward military garrison at the western end of the Middle East keeps the U.S. establishment under Israeli manipulation, if not outright control. The manner in which Netanyahu has bested Obama indicates that perhaps the latter word is the operative one.

Here are some thoughts I expressed some years back in discussing the Beast out of the Sea in a Study of Revelation.

I agree. Yet we still have people who believe our government controls the corporations despite the huge and ever increasing pool of evidence to the contrary.

The government plays second fiddle to the corporations now. We have a government of, by and for the transnational corporations. I see it as corporate fascism.

I agree because Ive worked for two of them in my lifetime & the bottom line is everything. Also noticed top management, even middle managers today are by & large Sociopaths. Thats a dangerous combination to anyones security.....& government regulations be damned.

Exactly it makes one wonder how we still have this unshakable belief that our "leaders" have our best interests at heart when most of them from the POTUS to the local plant manager are sociopaths.

I will say though I have worked for people who still have some empathy for others left but in our dog eat dog corporatist society they usually get passed over for promotions in favor of more ruthless people that display no empathy at all.

Sociopaths from all walks of life murder and maim people all the time for far less gratification than being able to rule the world. How is it then that we choose to believe that the sociopaths who have made it to the very top of the power structure in the global economy and government would never murder anyone in cold blood to gain their gratification?

Excellent point! Reminds me of a conversation I had yesterday evening with a small business owner who told me that his health insurance for himself & his valued employees has gone through the roof since 911.

No doubt they stood to benefit from prior knowledge of the attack. Money is a great motivator but insider trading is risky business even in our corrupt monetary system. I have to question whether the inside traders would have been involved in the attacks themselves. But who knows the only time our government and corporate media ever gets interested in a 9/11 investigation is to hamstring it and cover things up. And of course send out bands of "debunkers" to demonize and ridicule anyone asking serious questions.

And that right there makes me the most skeptical when it comes to the official 9/11 story of a "conspiracy of 19 Arabs 15 of which were Saudis". We or rather the global elite financier class have such a close relationship with the Saudis and their roving terrorist gangs like the ones we find ourselves allied with in Libya and Syria.

We might never know the full story about what really happened on 9/11 but at least for right now the whole phoney narrative of the "war on terror" is starting to unravel and more people are seeing it as the grand deception it is.

    And I say that's a good thing.

    The Corporatist Intelligence Agency

While the CIA is commonly understood to be an intelligence agency, we shouldn’t forget the important role it has played in carrying out clandestine operations that have benefited the financial elite.

This accusation is substantiated by the CIA’s elitist origins, its well-documented connections to Wall Street, and its sordid history of carrying out assassinations, staging coups, and fomenting civil wars.

The CIA and the financial elite have always had shared goals, interests, and backgrounds. Those in the upper echelons at Langley have often attended the same universities, belonged to the same fraternities, and attended the same clubs and parties as the Wall Street elite. This is why the intelligence community is often described as the “old boy network.”

    < snip >

In 1987, the former CIA station chief in Angola, John Stockwell, said that the CIA was responsible for tens of thousands of covert actions and destabilization programs since its inception. At the time, Stockwell estimated that over 6 million people had died in CIA covert actions. Former State Department official and author William Blum has called this an “American Holocaust.”

    CONTINUE . . .

With a history of making war and murdering for power, profit and control like this how can anyone believe it's beyond the pale of the global financial elite and it's strong arm CIA men to murder three thousand people on 9/11/01 to start an endless war that would mean endless profit and expanded power and control? Cognitive dissonance seems like a good reason to me.

There are other reasons of course but cognitive dissonance seems to be the number one explanation.
