    The name mystery continues......

Good morning all! 51 degrees at 5 am. I can live with that. I don't handle hot weather like I used to. I wish we had 5 months of spring; 1 month of summer; 5 months of fall; 1 month of winter. Love those shoulder seasons!

Give me time. I'll figure it out! My luck will be that his name will be like B.J. Honeycut from the show "Mash." Everybody tried to figure out what B.J. stood for. Turned out, it didn't stand for anything. They were just initials.

    Good morning all,

Another chilly morning with plenty of sunshine and a high expected of 75º.

I must have slept on my pillow wrong last night because I have a searing pain in my neck, going down my shoulder and into my back when I turn my head to the right. And of course there is no linament in the house...

Brent is testing this morning, so this is going to be short. I don't like to distract him by the keyboard clicking away.

    HAGD!

Good morning! Joanna is still sick so she's just hanging around being way overly chatty. Poor Robby is trying to do his work and I'm trying to teach as Joanna is looking through the "Birthday Express" catalogue and wanting just about every birthday party set in there. UGH!! I SO hope she goes down for a nap later. She'll probably go down just when I leave to go horseback riding! LOL!!

    Good Morning Everyone!

Been e-mailing teachers and checking out the BB. Got jump up and get dressed and run through this house though. Got to take the kids to B'ham this afternoon to the neurologist. Praying for a good medication change that will stop some of these migraines. Chris is still home this morning with the one that hit him yesterday. Thankfully Cass is better.

    Gotta run!

Woah! Should I come on saying "Good morning VIETNAM???!!! ;)

It was cooler here last night, and I finally got some sleep. In fact, most of the weekend, that was all I did was sleep. I've never done that befoe since high school. I was so asleep earlier this morning that I spilled a whole can of Sierra Mist onto my carpet in front of my couch. Vivian is furious! But, She hasn't said a thing. I'm going to call the pain doctor today and tell him what is going on and see if he wants to lower some of my meds.

I don't know how I ended up i the Common Ground Coffee Discussion House! I just looked up adn here I was, posting.

Sorry if I sound a wee bit off is mornin' folks. I am. Talk witya later! :)

Hey Tony! It does kinda sound like you might be taking a tad to much, BUT, more likely you just need the sleep!

Annsni, Chris and Cass get the migraines. My DH is diabetic and has extremely high cholesterol, but doesn't get migraines. I'm healthy except for the 3-4 bad discs in my neck/back and I never get migraines either. The baby (some baby, she's 8) is perfectly healthy (PTL!). Don't know why just the two of them get the migraines, you have to go all the way back to grandparents and cousins to find family members that get them.

At their appointment today they both got medication changes so we'll see how this regimen works. Pray for success!

    Time for karate!

    Pitiful. Just pitiful. :tongue3:

Or is it pitiful that I'm up because I got a burst of energy, went grocery shopping, then decided that if I was gonna put groceries in the fridge I should clean it, then decided that if I cleaned the fridge I should have something to eat, and if I eat food it should be cooked, and then decided that if I'm eating in the middle of the night I should be online or something instead of staring at the wall while I eat?

And is it more pitiful that I'm looking around wondering what I can do quietly when I'm done here?

I know I'm exhausted, but my brain suddenly kicked from 0 to 100 and has performed a hostile take-over of my body.

Maybe I should read something to make me sleepy. Hrm. The theology forum perhaps?

    Good morning all,

Gina: I have been awake since 1:30. I should have called you for a chat! I did not, like you, have a burst of energy. :tongue3:

Well, other than tackling the 'stuff' in the basement and throwing things out, a nap is the only other thing on my agenda today - besides changing all the bed linen, doing laundry, and cooking.

I really need some coffee this morning!

Thought I better check in lest people start dancing at my funeral........Surprise!

Good day to all! It has been quite rainy and cold here lately with the odd show of sunlight here and there.........and the weather people are warning us of a mild winter this year...I've heard that one before.

Connecting to the internet has become cheaper and cheaper, but Ma Bell decided she can't let that happened and our phone connection has gone up and up, and is now at $40.00 monthly......just for a silly wire. We are going to disconnect the one phone and just use the main phone line for the computer.

So, what is everyone else up to? I don't see as many posts anymore.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Good Morning Everybody,

Jim, I'm here. I read the obituaries this morning and my name wasn't in it, so I decided to get up.

"Stupid is as Stupid does." - Forrest Gump.
Ohhh, did I blow it this morning. Got the kids up, bathed, dressed, fed, and took them to school. When I got back I started on the laundry, housecleaning, etc. I found my daily calendar and today was a field trip for Autumn(only grandaughter), and she was supposed to take something for lunch to eat after the fieldtrip. I didn't have much time so I quickly threw together Oven-Fried Chicken Fingers & Fries, and Carrot-Ginger Cupcakes with Spiced Cream Cheese. I'll take it up to school when they get back(about Noon).

I also forgot that tomorrow night is our Small Group Potluck. Guess I'll take Sweet Potato Crisp and Roasted Green Beans with Peppers and Onions.

*SIGH* of all the things I've lost...it's my mind I miss the most.

I brought in Hot Italian Chicken Sandwiches and Ham and Cheese Stuff 'n Puff for lunch here in the CGC. Enjoy.

Now it's time to see what else I've forgotten.

Good morning all! I'm sitting here with a sleeping preschooler on my lap, poor baby! She seems better - no fever - but her nose is still going like crazy and she's falling asleep at 11:20 AM - and she normally never naps. :(

Robby is writing sentences right now and Jo wanted to be held so I thought I'd hop on the computer for a few. I've got some laundry to do and have to finish cleaning my bathroom (I do it in stages otherwise it takes too long), but other than that, I'm just hanging today. Tonight I'd like to hit up Target because Jo needs some leggings and sweatshirts and they're on sale this week. I also want to get some more of their yummy soy candles because it's getting cooler and I burn candles constantly during the cold weather. I just love them!

Hope everyone is having a great day today!

    FOG,
You're a hoot. I love reading your menus but how you manage to always quickly throw things together like that at the last second beats me.
You must have some big pantry with a ton of stuff in it!

That's one of my big drawbacks: it would not be the actual cooking as much as planning what to cook and going to the store to find it all.
Then, of course, with other people in the house, labelling lots of things as out of bounds because they were for a particular recipe.

    Thanks for the compliment Karen.

When I have to do something quick, I do exactly what you do. I make something simple with what I have on hand.

For the Quick Fried Chicken Fingers and Fries: Prep time is 10 mins, and the Total time is 37 mins. I had on hand 1lb of boneless, skinless, chicken breasts, 2 large baking potatoes,Zesty Italian Dressing, Grated Parmesan Cheese, Shake 'n Bake Chicken Seasoned Coating Mix, Grey Poupon Mustard, and Honey. There's nothing exotic, or hard to find with these ingredients.

For the Carrot-Ginger Cupcakes with Spiced Cream Cheese: Prep time is 20 mins, and the Total time is 35 mins. I had 1 pkg. Pound Cake Mix, 3/4 cup shredded carrots, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, Planter's Walnut Pieces, Philadelphia Cream Cheese, and Cool Whip. All easily on-hand ingredients.

Like they say "Desperation is the Mother of Invention." When I'm desperate, or in an emergency, I use easy to make recipes, and commonly available ingredients.

I don't do anything that you don't do, and the truth be told, you're a much better cook then I am. I'm just lucky.

I would NEVER match my cooking to anybodys here on the BB. I'd lose in a heartbeat. I like to cook, but I can't match anybody's cooking.

Hello all. I'm still alive as well.

Nothing much to report, other than having a great time in children's ministry! I started using new materials that use the "new" large group/small group format. All the kids meet at first in the part of the session that I lead, then break into small groups of 5 kids with leaders who don't have to prepare anything, just read and follow the directions for activity and discussion on the sheet that's handed them. It is the easiest way I have ever seen to get people to volunteer to work with kids! I'm having them sign up for a month at a time. I'm already booking the November volunteers! And the materials are terrific, with songs with motions on a DVD, and a theme for each month, like VBS.

What's new in children's ministry with you folks?

Ya doing Promise Land? We're doing that and it sounds just the same. It seems to be going over really well - my 1st grader loves it!
