LOL Rob! I was thinking that when the man of God gets wound up, you gotta let him preach!

Wanna know something? Last night our new preacher finished on time for the first time since he's been there. I was disappointed. It's been a long time since I was fed this well on the Word and I wasn't ready to push away from the table.

Howdy ya'll! I hope you've all had a good day. Done the busy thing again today as all the kids went to school. Then again, I was busy when the kids were at home. Huh? Something's off. Oh well, when the rollar coaster slows down enough I'll jump off! At least I've pretty much had a productive week. The kids are mostly caught up on their makeup work(this is a record!).

    Hand me my nephew! ((((((Sean))))))

I'd love to have a barbeque -- but not Eastern NC. *shiver*

    I want sauce, real sauce!

The deacons had a meeting with the preacher about the length of his sermons. They decided that if the preacher sucked on a sweet his time would work out right. When the sweet was gone, it was time to say Amen.

A young laddie was visiting the Baptist Church and asking all kinds of questions. The preacher popped the sweet into his mouth and the lad asked, "What does that mean?"

"Not a thing, " intoned the other, "He will still preach for almost an hour!"

Beware about winding a preacher up.

Did I tell you about the time my wife walked out just as the sermon was starting? She was asked why she was leaving and she replied, "I've heard it before..." She was actually going downstairs to help prepare the church lunch.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    LOL, Jim!

I guess here we're going to toss some ribs, burgers and dogs on the grill. I haven't decided yet what else. Here lately nothing really sounds enticing. Probably end up with some raw veggies, corn on the cob and coleslaw and then something for dessert. My dad said something about homemade ice cream. T said something about cheesecake.

    Thanks, Cindi.

    Good morning all,

I hope this posts. I've been having trouble getting on here this morning.

Doing laundry today in-between school. I'm not sure what we're doing for Labor Day. Probably not much since we're saving our money for Brent and Grandpa to go sightseeing in Chicago for three days on the 8th.

They are going to a lot of places, but the one place Brent requested they go was Pacific Garden Missions. He listens to their program Unshackled every night on the radio. He will be there during a live taping.

Of course, Dale will take him to Great Lakes Naval Base and the usual round of museums, galleries, planetariums, Sears Tower, etc. It should be a fun week-end for them.

My vacation is staying home and enjoying the peace and quiet!

    HAGD!

    Hi!

Turned out to be a better day than expected. A lovely day for being outside. These are the kinds of days I wish I wasn't so old.....then I could do more physical work.

We are expecting strong winds soon. A backlash from the storms facing the South. I must anchor my portable garage so it doesn't lift in those winds. A couple more stakes to drive into the ground.

Sounds like the lads in Illinois will be having a grand tour of Chicago. Good on them. I lived on the South Side when I was going to university there...I saw some of the city, but it was surely quite different in those days. ON trips to Green Bay, I managed to bypass the city and take the ferry further north.

    Cheers to all,

    Jim

    Hey Y'all!!
I found out this morning from the Dr's office that the awful pain I was having is a common side effect of the new anti-estrogen medication that last three to four days. It is almost gone now, Praise the Lord!!!!!!!!!

PTL Gayla! I'm sure that is one worry off of your mind!

Jim: You couldn't PAY me to drive in downtown Chicago! I told the guys they should take the trolley. LOL

It is 59º and cloudy this morning with an expected high of 74º. Sounds like a good day to get some outdoor 'fall' work done. We don't have many leaves to bother with since we got rid of the Sweet Gumball trees, but the gutters need cleaned out and etc.

Coffee is perking and tea is steeping.
    HAGD all!

    Hi Guys,

I probably won't be around much for a few days.

My Wife suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Thursday night she suffered a mental health crisis. She's been admitted to the hospital for treatment, and we're not sure of a release date yet.

I posted this in the Prayer Request/Praise Forum.

I made Barbeque deviled eggs, and Tarragon & Chive deviled eggs, and Tex-Mex deviled eggs for the barbeque on Sunday, and Monday. I made 3 dozen of each and their in the refridgerator of the coffeehouse. The pit is dug to barbeque on, and I brought 10 dozen ears of just picked sweet corn to be grilled in the pit, and shucked at the table.I brought 4 racks of fresh buffalo steaks to grill(it tastes like beef-but has almost no cholesterol.) I know I'm forgetting something, I'll think of it later.

I don't know if I'll even make it to the celebration. We'll have to see how things go.

    Rob

well, Jim, bored huh? go over to the game forum and play a few rounds. :type:

School's back in session and I can't keep up with myself. I haven't been posting much cause I know I'll just be saying the same thing over and over. I'm busy, I'm chasing my tail, I'm tied to my computer . . .

    --------------------

I spent the first half of the day at a funeral. I laughed and I cried. I sobbed on Ron's shoulder. I celebrated new life in Jesus!

I'm with ya mcdirector! Busy times these days...

I spent part of the day at a birthday party and the majority of the day arranging a piece of music.

FoG, we can postpone the festivities until you are feeling like joining us.

I'd really like to see her catch that tail!

been busy (and hurting) the last few days.

Jim, how are things in the Village?

Bought plane tickets to Las Vegas yesterday. The kids are excited about "flying on the big, white plane!" Now I gotta figure out how to pack lightly. And get through security with no problems.:praying:

    Good morning all,

Am I the only one who is having problems posting on the BB? I can get here and write my post, but when I hit "post reply", it usually gives me a white page saying, "page cannot be found". When (and if) it does go through, it takes forever. It's getting really frustrating!

We have another fall morning here with possible thunderstorms this afternoon. The leaves are turning so I guess it's time to get out the winter clothes and see what still fits...

BIG blessings to everyone on this Lord's Day!

Thanks Tater, but let's go ahead with the barbeque.

It's been planned, and food is made, and Jim is walkin' around lookin' like a new Pastor again.

Let the Party begin, after Jim's message that is.

I checked in on Brenda and she had a restful night. The doctor's say that there is progress.

I suddenly feel like celebrating again.

The coals are hot in the pit, and ready for the application of food after the service.

Bitsy is chasing her tail?? I think I'll just walk away from that one. It's too tempting. I just realized what I said!!, and is my face RED. I mean that the idea and the chance for a "pointed barb" is too tempting.

    I'll be here.

    Good morning, everyone!

Sue, I couldn't post some things lately, either. Looks like the Post Ghost is haunting us again. Actually, I think I have a computer virus as well. Has anyone heard of the WinFixer virus? Arrrgggghh!!

Friend of God, I'm praying for your wife.

I'm making some cole slaw to go with that BBQ. It's kinda fancy--with pecans and apples in it.

Off to church--see you all later. Have a blessed Lord's Day. :wavey:
