That's okay Rob, I'll let you cook for me today. I need something for the crockpot that is made with either chicken or hamburger meat. Uh, you'll have to clean the kitchen first. :p :D

Cass has to wait until morning for the doc. They are overflowing today.

Off to find the owner of the phone number who keeps calling me at a specific time every morning.

Betty - Send on over your 9 year old!! I'm going riding tomorrow and have a spare horse for her!! His name is Starr and he's usually a good boy - I've been riding him for over 22 years now.

Well, that whole Mercedes thing is a scam. The car is actually at a dealer near me for $60,000 - NOT the $6500 that was on E-bay! I just contacted E-bay and they know it was a scam. Oh well!!

It looks like I may have yet another sickie at home. Nicole (14) called from school saying that she's not feeling well. NOT a good time since she's in the church play which is a huge production. The first show is Sunday and they have rehearsal tonight and tomorrow night. We'll see how this develops.

Ugg, who else has a sick teenager? Ya'll know these things happen in threes!

I'll send Jenna up to ride with you too. But you'll have to teach her to ride first! I've heard horse for two years. Ain't happening.

What did I say I had to do today? I haven't even started.

Well, I'm outta here for a bit. I ordered my grandchildren some colorful pencils, with their names on them, for stocking stuffers and they were each supposed to come with their own vinyl case. They came in ziplock bags! :BangHead:

Anyway, I'm off to Dollar Tree to look for pencil bags/boxes. I also have to stop by Aldi's and pick up some more ingredients for baking, then by Walgreens to pick up a prescription refill and some pictures I had developed.

Brent and I will be eating lunch from the $ menu at Mickey D's. [IMG]

We haven't done that in a long while, but we need a break from turkey salad sandwiches and I want to try out my new Status 60 card (for a Senior :saint: ).

I can get a LARGE drink (diet of course) for 35¢! Brent drinks diet soda too because it's better for his teeth - so one large drink and two straws comin' up...

See y'all later on this evening.

    HAGD!

Buy some groceries for me while you are at it Sue! I'm going to have to actually cook something for snacks today cause we're outta Little Debbie's. Not sure how that happened!

Right now I'm enjoying the last of the chocolate mint icecream and a cup of coffee. Just a little celebration cause the painting in Cass' room is done AND the carpet (nasty dirty stuff, must have been original to the house, yuck!) is out by the side of the road for the garbage guys. I'd of had a bigger celebration if we hadn't been outta Little Debbie's!

And I have supper cookin' and it smells wonderful. Next on the list, cleaning up the kitchen............

Well, Cindi, I'm mad too! False advertising!

I got my drink at McD's for 54¢ and it was a small! And for THAT I had to tell them how old I was!!! Harumph! I gave it to Brent and I drank water.

Anyway, I had some things to pick up from a Freecycle member and just HAD to stop by the Thrift Shop. Needless to say, we came home with a trunk and a back seat full and we had already unloaded it once after the grocery store!

OK. I'm in for the night.

WINTER STORM WARNING FROM TOMORROW MORNING UNTIL FRIDAY NIGHT. The weatherman said 12" of snow.

But FIRST we get an inch of rain so it can freeze underneath the snow.

NO WAY! I'm not ready!!! [IMG]

Well, I have the third sick teenager. Brother has been home for three days. Isn't this stuff starting early this year. The one of the Attendance secretaries at the high school is sick and her mail box is full and we can't even call in. Ed took Brother's doctor's excuse to school today. Didn't want the truancy cops after us.

Ann, Ed said that we are on the way to see you, sailboat and horses. WOW.

Well, summer is over and winter has arrived with a vengance. Wed. evening church services are cancelled. We have ice falling now and the snow will follow. I'm just not ready for this. I'm planning activities for tomorrow. We are making place mats out of old Christmas Cards. They are so pretty. We have about 5 more boxes of Christmas decorations to go through. Half of the outside decorations are up, the lights for outside of the house may stay in the box.

Oh dear, they have us in the 5-10 inch snow. Now I know that does not seem very much to you people up north, but we are just not prepared for that kind of snow...Well, we are prepared in this house. Plenty of food. Hope the electricity stays on.

Have a great evening. See you in the morning.

    Keep safe, enjoy!

Betty - Come on over - but I'd wait for spring. The boat will be winterized on Saturday and all the sails have been taken down and brought in for repair. "Set Free" is almost ready for hibernation (although DH will use her for the winter as his "marine office" so he can get away from the busyness at church and get some actual work done!). The horses are both going to be nuts for the winter so spring will definately work better for them too. :D

Nicole seems to be OK - just tired, has a headache and is a little shakey. I'm guessing a virus - I'll have to see if she goes to school tomorrow or not........

    Evening Gang,
Hope everyones doin ok...espically the sickly yunguns!! I think I have a permanant cold, & Agees complaining with a sore throat now.
I suppose BH has recovered from her ailment, shes been back to her nut burying ways the past few days.
Actually thats part of why I haven't been around much, been visiting on the board where some kind & knowledgable folke have been helping me take care of BH. They even found a vet in the Winston area that would have looked at her without turning me in, but thankfully she started getting better with the home remedies!! She's even getting chubby now!!
The big thing is that, with the help of a sick squirrel I've been able to tell some folks about our Wonderful Saviour!! Some in first person,...some in third person using BH as a teller of the Truth. But hey if the message gets out, it gets out!!! So I guess BH has changed jobs from being a security guard to a semi-preaching critter of God!
You all have a Blessed Nite now!!!

Unfortunately my sick kid is really feeling bad. I'm thinking sinus infection and possibly strep. Strep would mean that Chris probably has it since he feels bad too, but doesn't have the sinusy stuff.

And due to the weather change that is coming tomorrow (ya'll are getting snow but we get thunderstorms) both Cass and Chris have migraines to go with their sore throats. I'll probably have them both home tomorrow.

It's supposed to turn cold(lows below freezing) and stay that way for a few days. I'm going to reconsider closing the pool. Most of the leaves seem to be off the trees, so it's probably safe and if the pool doesn't stay clear I can always open it back up. If I could find the right size plugs I'd just plug the inlet and outlet and drain the pump, but I haven't been able to find any. Might put that on the list of things to do tomorrow.......

I'm tired after pulling carpet, church and choir practice and this weather has my arthritis acting up, so I'm headed to bed. Stay warm Betty and Sue!

Hey Jim, you're even further north, how's all this hitting your area?

Preacher, , you letting a lady preach? ;)

I agree with you, Jim. They are saying it will be like the storm of 2000. I stayed in for two weeks that time, but they do think it will leave rapidly and may not last as long.

We had rain today, we had buckets of sleet and freezing rain (what's the difference?) and lightening. Now waiting for the snow.

We can sail all year in Oklahoma, but I don't think anyone will be sailing tonight. We have large lakes (no oceans:laugh: ).

We have and inch and a half of ice and still falling. The storm came in earlier than expected so it has caused lots of accidents and major interstate highways are closed in areas. The snow should start soon, but the kids are happy. No school tomorrow. Ed is wondering what he is going to do snowed in with two kids. I don't think he will have to worry much. They will be out and about playing in the snow, but we do have lots of board games and movies if we still have electricity tomorrow.

Me, I plan to sleep late. (Do I hear laughter?)

Sissy made several trips outside to see what was happening. After all, she had to check her play house and her horse Blaze ( a stuffed horse large enough for her to sit on and pretend to ride) Then of course Brother had to go out to check on her so we may not get any sleep tonight.

    Betty (on snow watch)

Weeelllllll, in that case, Preacher, it'll probably be alright! :D

    Good morning everyone!

We've got the sick house thing going on here. Cass with her sinuses, Chris has a migraine, Jenna keeps saying she feels like throwing up and T says he is coming down with whatever is going through his office. At least Jen and T went on with their day, so I only have Cass and Chris to deal with.

Today's schedule---there is no schedule for today---I'll have to go with the flow......................

Betty, do you still have power and are you snowed under yet? I saw the weather for your part of the country and can I just say Bbbbrrrrrrrrr!?

    Good morning all,

Spent a sleepless night putting cool whip bowls under the drips on the sunporch again. The ice is supposed to be here in a couple of hours and then 2 inches of snow PER HOUR until we reach 12 to 15 inches.

The wind was busy last night also. I have one broken candy cane (lining the sidewalk in front) and a wise man and a sheep are turned over. I can see this from the front door. I haven't ventured forth since the temperature took such a dramatic dive.

This time tomorrow, Brent will be outside shoveling snow. Our sidewalk out front is 80 feet long and then he will shovel the walk up to our house and also in the back out to the alley. It will keep him quite busy for awhile, including 'warm-up' breaks with hot cocoa.

    Time for some 'warm-up' coffee,

Betty the difference between sleet and freezing rain is when it freezes. Sleet comes down and freezes before it hits the ground (as opposed to hail which forms in clouds in layers by blowing back up by the wind before it gets too heavy to be blown anymore then falls to the ground), and freezing rain freezes when it hits the ground. Thus freezing rain will have more ramifications on trees and power lines - it will coat them like in an ice storm - whereas sleet doesn't do that - it just makes roads slippery. HTH!

For today, I'm going to ride earlier since Nicole is home and can watch the kids. I'm figuring maybe right after lunch. I'm going to do homeschooling with Robby and laundry too and that's really about it. :D

    See you all later!

Yes, I'm still here. No power outage yet, but we have a problem within the house. No master bathroom lights, part of the sunroom is out and the plug for the freezer. Apparently this was not wired correctly. We discovered this a few weeks ago and I was going to call the electrician and didn't. Now the breaker will not reset so there is something wrong. So now we have to call the electrician.

Just a small controversy here this morning. Sissy is grounded to her room with no TV for an hour. She went outside after I told her not to go until I gave her permission. She was dressed warmly and she wanted to check her play house, but she has to learn. She is a child who is used to doing as she pleases without adult supervision. The windchill is 7 degrees and it is still sleeting. No snow yet.

Loads of rain here, but may turn to ice this evening as the temperature drops dramatically. We have one word for this weather: miserable! At least with a foot of snow, I can blow it away.

Betty, all those things on the same breaker? That freezer should be on its own outlet. We had a problem at our rental house. The furnace would only come on and off, but not run. When I went down to the house, the people had moved the refrigerator to in front of the thermostat. The heat from the refrigerator was giving a false reading to the furnace.

To-day is St. Andrew's Day. Happy St. Andrew's Day. It is not a holiday, but important to the Scots.

    Cheers,

    Jim
