Top of the Mornin' to Ya!,

And the bottom of it to me.

Ann - You should have told me that you were contagious... I fell outside last night. I now have my right arm in a sling [messed up my shoulder], threw my back out, hurt my left knee, and [I'm told] have a slight concussion. When I do it...I do it good!

You'll have to excuse my typing, I'm using my left hand.

Tonight's dinner is LEFTOVERS. This cook is out-of-commission for awhile. I could try and cook using my left arm/hand only; but; I can't stand very long. * SIGH * fortunately we have enough leftovers to feed us for awhile.

I tried to make biscuits this morning, I'd tell you how it went, but Sue would end up censoring my post. Pretty bad when I can't even make hot biacuits to eat with homemade jam for breakfast. I ended up giving the g-kids $ so they could have breakfast & lunch at school. Usually they just have lunch at school. Had to find someone to take them to school too. Afraid the laundry, and housecleaning will suffer for awhile also.

Sorry guys 'n dolls can't bring anything into the coffeehouse either.

I'm going to lie down for awhile and try to get everything to stop hurting.

Oh Rob! Bless your heart! You really did yourself up good. :(

If it will make you feel better, it doesn't take a fall to get me to hand out money for school breakfasts. :D You KNOW I just love it when someone else cooks! That 75 cents just slides right on out of my pocket. Come to think of it, my kids haven't had breakfast at school this year. Hmmm, I wonder why that is? They did it a bunch last year. Probably don't have any friends eating there. Cause that's what breakfast at school is; social time!

I finally broke down yesterday and turned the heat on. Couldn't get Jenna's room or my feet warm. Cass said Jenna's room was still cold last night, so I've got to check and see if the vent is blocked. Probably not, Jenna's room is usually the coolest, even in summer. Just need to turn the thermostat up a bit.

It was 26 degrees this morning when I got out to take kids to school. It is supposed to warm up to about 50. We have a promise of 58 tomorrow so I'm going to spend today sewing and paint the trim for Cassie's room tomorrow.

Since Rob is down, I put out some doughnuts. They're not home made, sorry. (not) They will give you a nice sugar high. Since I've had two and a half a pot of coffee, I'm heading off to see what's happening on the BB.

    See ya!

Oh, Rob! So sorry to hear about your fall! I will be praying for a speedy recovery so the CH won't suffer from Cindi's cooking.

    Good morning all,

I didn't have time to bring anything in either, so I'm glad Cindi bought some donuts (instead of making them). :saint:

I got called to sub on the corner early this morning. I will be working there each morning and afternoon through Friday. It will be cold, but it will also be $$$.

I'm just now fixing breakfast for Brent and I. Fried potatoes with onions, bacon, fried eggs, toast and jam! Now that I KNOW I'll be working, I'll get up earlier and fix breakfast before we leave.

    Time for coffee!

Cindi's cooking is just fine, thank you. :saint:
Trust me, I'm an expert in these things.

In Algebra "x" denotes the unknown quanity[ according to Bitsy-the Algebra Teacher], and any plumber will tell you that a "spurt" is water driven by pressure.

So. I'm an unknown drip, under pressure. :tongue3:

Rob - You'd better disinfect your computer since I now have ANOTHER sickie in the house!! Joanna has a bad cold and yesterday had a croupy cough - and today she sounded like Darth Vader! So, off to the doctor we go. It's just croup but she's on steroids for 3 days to help take the swelling down in her windpipe. FUN!! I KNOW where she got this cold - one boy in her preschool came in with a nose running like a faucet and all the mom did was hand over a box of tissues. :BangHead: THEN we went to the birthday party on Saturday (where I fell) and 2 kids had fevers and HORRIBLE coughs but the moms brought them to this germ riddled bowling alley anyway. UGH!! So, MY child gets sick because you're an idiot.

Sorry - I'll try to tell how I REALLY feel later. LOL!

So, today is homeschooling and laundry yet again. I have a birthday party tonight for a friend's 40th but I'm honestly thinking of skipping it. I'm not sure.

Keep warm everyone and Rob - you rest!!

Ann (who's keeping Lysol in business from now on)

Just to show you how well I really can cook, I put nacho fixin's on the counter. :D The cheese sauce is in the crockpot.

Ann, you doing the household cold? I'm really, really hoping that is not happening here. This thing Cass has is hanging on and on and on..... Chris had it and thankfully got rid of it, but now Jenna's complaining.

Down here, we have the school's to blame for parents sending their kids sick. So much fussiness about attendence! Always wanting a doctor's excuse if a kid is out sick, like a parent can't tell if a kid is too sick to go to school. And why would a parent want to take a kid to the doc only to be told what we already know? That the kid has a viral infection and there is nothing the doc can do. Oh, and the docs are supposed to be mind readers and sense the exact minute the kid will be well and excuse them in advance, so the school will accept the excuse, because an excuse implies that the doctor has seen a child on the day a child has missed. (yes, I'm confused too. Practically it means that the docs here won't write an excuse for a child they have seen two days ago unless the child comes in to be rechecked, because the schools are overstepping their bounds and bothering the doctors about how many excuses they write. And holding them legally responsible. Haven't figured out just how the schools are doing that. )

You missed my whole fight last year over just this issue because I wasn't to be trusted to know when Cass' pain levels from her arthritis and migraines was to high for her to attend school. (I won, btw.)

Speaking of school, I've got to head that way and pick up kids. I'm suprised that none of them have called me after last night's outing in the cold.

Well, I just shot my night. I laid down at 4pm, and got up at 8:30pm.
Hope it works for my pain, because if it was a beauty sleep... I got cheated!!

Time to take another painkiller, and go back to sleep. My Wife checks on me every few minutes, due to the concussion I had.

Thanks for the Nachos MK! Don't let anybody tell you you can't cook! Give me some time, and I'll turn you into a common sewer, ehhhh I mean a conneseuoir!

I'll check in sometime in the morning. :sleeping_2: :sleeping_2:

Have a good night Rob. I hope you feel better! My bottom is feeling less sore as is my knee and hip but my hand is just as bad. :( It's screaming SURGERY to me at this point. It's in a brace pretty much 24 hours a day (take it off to shower and do dishes) and I STILL can't even squeeze toothpaste out of a tube (and I'm making so many mistakes typing that my typing teacher must be rolling over in her grave!).

No, no, no Rob! Don't tell folks I can cook! If they find out my secret they'll want to see and that means I'll have to cook!

You see with this cook it is less about ability and more about motivation! You see, I figured out real fast that if I could convince T that I couldn't boil water, that HE would do the cooking. It's worked for 19 years! :D

I'm headed for the bed. I tried karate tonight knowing my joints were already unhappy with me for taking them out in the cold last night. They showed me just how unhappy they really are during class. Couldn't work hard enough to break a sweat. Oh well, maybe by Thursday's class they'll be better.

What I really think is that my joints are reading Rob and Ann's posts and are warning me not to slip on any ice!

Ya'll stay warm. Brother Blackbird it is currently 37 degrees here. :(

    Good Morning Everybody,

Don't tell anybody, but Cindi hasn't cooked in 19 years. T does all the cooking. Maybe we can get him to cook here in the coffeehouse.

Oh, and Cindi...I never said I had any ability to cook, I just learned to enjoy trying different recipes, and eventually got good in following directions in recipes. LOL!!

I ended up sleeping in the recliner last night. Seems like every time I move I discover something else that hurts.

Seems that I'm like the guy who went to his doctor. "Doc, when I touch my head,my head hurts. When I touch my arm, my arm hurts, and when I touch my leg, my leg hurts. What's wrong with me doc?" "That's easy son." said the doctor, "You've got a broken finger."

I still can't understand how I got a concussion with this rock-head of mine. Today I go see my family doctor, and I know that's what he's going to say to me.

He's the guy who once told me that I was the fattest man he'd ever seen. I told him I wanted a second opinion. He said "okay, you're ugly too!" [not really - but my doc doesn't mince any words. LOL  ]

I ordered omlettes, bacon, and pastries from the restaurant, and they said they'd deliver to the Coffeehouse.

Disregard the card - I told them to sign it Cindi [just to fool T. ]

Rob - You should be at the most painful stage of the soreness. My soreness is just about gone, except my hand of course. That's not going to go away until after the surgery, hopefully.

Today is a day where we have NO place to be!! Praise the Lord!! I am a homebody who does too much running around. LOL - We'll do school and laundry yet again and I HAVE to get the bathrooms cleaned! Joanna is home sick yet again - she's just not up to being in school yet. Her nose is running like a faucet and because of that, it's all red and irritated (she's got the most sensitive skin around), so she's gooped up with salve to help. She's on the Orapred (steriods) for the croup and then I have her on an expectorant and decongestant which will also hopefully help.

Have a wonderful day all!! I think I'll even get the girls to bring in firewood for a fire tonight (in the fireplace). It's chilly and we'll all be home tonight - how wonderful!!

    Thanks Ann.

.Now if I could just get rid of my headache, and get my arm out of this sling I'd be good to go.

I'm praying for you, and your surgery. I guess that means you dh is going to be taking you out to eat a lot while you're recovering...right?

Ann honey, did you forget tonight was Wednesday night? You've got to go to church, unless your preacher is giving you the night off (something I don't believe our preacher will ever do!).

I have your morning laugh for you. I needed to pick up the moulding for Cassie's baseboards this morning so I can get them painted as soon as it warms up today. T told me to take the jeep and stick the 16 ft pieces out the passenger side window. Well, I wasn't driving the jeep, I was driving my Rendezvous. Didn't dawn on me till I pulled into Home Depot that I was driving the wrong car. Of course I'm too stubborn to drive on home and come back in the right car, so I decide my car can do the job.

It did the job, but you should have seen me driving home with at least 4 1/2 feet of moulding sticking out my side window and me dodging all the mailboxes I had to pass! We won't talk about how I used some lace trim to tie the pieces together cause that's all I had in the car. At least they weren't flopping about in the wind!

So today is back to the sewing machine. I'm starting on Christmas gifts just as soon as I get a blouse done that I need. Then as soon as it gets warm enough I'll take a break and go paint and then it will be back to the presents!

Thanks for breakfast Rob! Ann is correct, the third day after a fall or accident is always the worst. Not sure why that is, but it's how it happens here.

My joints are still screaming this morning, and I can't remember if I took anything. I hate when I'm this forgetful. At least my hands are not that bad for a change so working at the sewing machine shouldn't be to big a problem. I bet I'm headed for the doc here soon though. Makes me grumpy just thinking I'm bad off enough for a doc. MOTHER'S ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO GET SICK!!!!

Oh well, ya'll have a good day. I'm going to scarf an orange to go along with my breakfast and get started (restarted?) on my day.

Thanks for the prayers, Rob. I WISH it would mean that Bob would take me out a lot while I'm recovering but to take the whole family out means atleast $80 so we can't swing that too often. Between my teens (who are great cooks) and what I'll stock in the freezer, I should be good and I KNOW that my church family will come through too. :D I think we'll do fine.

LOL - Actually we DO have Wednesday nights off in the month of December!! We have our Christmas play early in the month and it takes up a lot of time with practices and such - plus it's just a busy time so the pastoral staff decided to give everyone a break and not have anything except Jr. High youth group on Wednesday - and we have no more Jr. High kids in our family! I'm SO grateful because tonight will be the only night we have off for a week (and it's the first night off since 2 weeks ago). We need it.

    Good morning all,

I just realized I hadn't checked in yet. I had to work the crossing this morning, so I didn't have time to get on the computer. After I finished that, we went to Wally World, the post office, and then made a quick stop to get new screws for Brent's glasses. The other ones were stripped and his lenses kept falling out!

All of that took up most of the morning, so we just went to a Mom and Pop restaurant for a chicken dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans cooked with onions and bacon. We haven't done that in about a year.

That reminds me of last December when Brent and I went shopping about 40 miles away. I finally found the four remaining pieces that I needed for the outdoor lighted nativity scene (after searching for years) and I was so excited that I bought all of them on the spot.

It wasn't until we got to the check-out that I realized I had no way to get them home in my little Ford Escort Hatchback.

Needless to say, hubby had to make a trip up there after work, in the truck, to pick up my 'finds'...

I'm going to hit the couch for about an hour before I have to go work at the crossing this afternoon.

Praying for all you 'sickies' to get better!

LOL Sue, you make me feel so much better!

I have made progress today! My blouse is finished except the hem and the buttons and buttonholes. Cassie's trim is painted and whew! if the Lord hadn't stretched the paint I would have had to buy a quart for a few feet of trim. I dried out the can. Now all that is left to paint is her doors, all three of them. But those are going to be a different color and I was expecting to buy paint for them. It's going to have to warm up some before those get painted. It was almost to cold to paint today even.

So now I have to finish the blouse, which has turned out beautifully, hem the skirt I made yesterday and start making Christmas presents for teachers! The teacher gifts are fun stuff and shouldn't take very long, except the embroidery takes some time. They are getting embroidered Christmas ornaments.

Right now though, it is lunch time and then I have to find something better to wear and get dressed. I can't go to church tonight wearing my painting clothes! (no Wednesday church break like that liberal Ann is getting. ;) )

    Enjoy your nap Sue!

No nap for me today. :(

I unpacked my 'load' from Wal-Mart and found a $40.00 item was missing. I called them and they said to come out and get another one.

While I had them on the phone, I complained about the check-out girl we had. She had a low-cut blouse on and when she bent over to bag the items I bought, I could almost see her toes. They said they would take care of that too.

I sent Brent to the other end of the store until she was finished. He'll be 13 in a few weeks and he certainly didn't need to see what I was seeing.

Anyhoo....I'm on my way back out to Wal-Mart, the bank, and another trip to the post office before I go to work!
