    Mornin' folks!

Rob, I know that little boy is special! I'm glad you are there for him. He will learn to do things his own way and everyone will enjoy and encourage him, I'm sure -- especially you....LOL

Bright and sunny here today. Most of the outside work is done and it's about time to get Chris up and feed the inside animals, but a quick minute here is always fun.

Bible study tonight. So quick shopping and clean house today and we're good to go. A little yard work I want to keep up with, but nothing earth-shaking.

It's a gorgeous spring day. God bless you all.

Good afternoon! BTW where is everyone? Hum, they probably are out enjoying the great weather. It was one shy of 70° earlier in the afternoon. This is practically a heat wave at our neck of the woods. Wonder if it means the winter is over? Well, we'll see.

Have a good evening everyone. :wavey:

It was so beautiful here too, Tim!! VERY busy here today - homeschooling, cooking a meal for an expectant mama on bedrest, transporting to and from preschool, finding the CD of my adoption testimony that many have asked for (it's been missing for months! I'm so thrilled I found it!), cooking our OWN dinner, cleaning then off to begin training the horse for this year (he was VERY good but a bit off - I think his bad leg is sore). So now I'm just waiting on dinner and then we're off for church. Whew!! I'll "see" y'all tomorrow!

    Evening all!

It has been 80 here the last two days! Makes me wish my school windows opened. We took my mom out for Mexican tonight. Tomorrow night we go to college basketball. Late night that will be. BUT we get to see Marquette & Michigan ST and UNC & Eastern Kentucky.

Come on down! I made plenty. We will be having the same thing for supper tonight that I serve the kids at school for lunch today.

    Good morning all,

It is 34º. Where did the beautiful spring weather go??? High today of 48º.

I have everything ready to take to school around 11:30. All I have to do is get the ham & beans out of the fridge and heat them up before I go. Cornbread is made, cut up and placed in a large bowl (I made 6 batches) and both cakes are covered and in the fridge.

I will stay and dish out the food and bring my dishes (and any leftovers) home around 1:00. Then, hopefully, I will get a short nap in...

Time to wake up Brent and fix breakfast (Apple and Cinnamon oatmeal, cinnamon toast, orange juice, and milk).

After dropping Brent off at school this morning (I don't have to work on the corner today), I'm going to take a peek at the new Wal-Mart Super Center that opened yesterday. I really need some things from there, but hate the thought of fighting the crowds AND finding my way around in there! It's so big, I may have to take my oxygen to get from one end to the other!

    HAGD!

Can the Coffeehouse Crew have their own table in the lunch room? You'll recognize us because we'll be the best behaved kids in the room.

Walmart also sells oxygen Sue. It's about halfway to the end.

    Good Morning Everybody,

I agree with Sue. What happened to the nice weather? We got about 2" of snow overnight. Sure glad I hurried to get my yardwork done. :BangHead:

Today is a light breakfast so we'll all have room for lunch at school. Fruit-Filled Petal Rolls, Sausage Scramble, and Rosemary Fried Potatoes. Enjoy.

I've got to hurry and get my chores done so I can go to school.

Remember when we all get to school ....
Sue is now much more important than a Moderator, or even an Administrator. She's a School Cook. You don't behave... you don't eat! :saint: :wavey:

    Who made it halfway??? :BangHead:

They have done away with the fabric department and the fish department.

NO YARN AND NO FISH! [IMG]

That was the only place in town to buy both of those things. If I have to drive 40 miles to buy yarn and fish, I will go to K-Mart while I'm there and buy everything else I need!!!

I KNEW I wouldn't like this Supercenter!!! Yes, I'm having a 'snit'. I'll be all right in a few minutes.

It didn't help that I took a Lasix this morning and couldn't find the restrooms... I came home real fast.

What do Women who take Lasix act like? Depends.

Can we all come to your Ham 'n Bean supper tonight too Sue?

Is it true that you've arranged for music to follow dinner ??

I wish I could come, Sue, but I have to take care of the horses tonight!!

I've gotta say - crazy weather. Today is 59 degrees right now at 11:45AM and we're due to get snow tonight and tomorrow!! Just a bit north of us, they're due for 6-12"!! Yikes!! And here I was all set for spring!!

Had PT this morning and did really well. I'm working on getting weight on the palm of my hand (think of when you get up from the floor and put your hand down to push you up - I can't do that yet) but it's getting better and better! I'm SO glad I did this surgery!

The kiddies are outside - we'll have a late day of homeschooling since it's supposed to start raining soon and it's so nice outside. I feel like they've been stuck inside for so long and NEED fresh air! I have the back sliding door open and it feels so good to feel that cool breeze - I'll shut the door in a bit because it's cooling off the house - but it feels and smells so good!!

I think Bob and I will be heading out for funerals tonight - a man in our congregation had a son whom he was estranged with - and the son killed himself Friday. Then on Monday night, one of our senior saints went home to be with the Lord. She was 100 and the GREATEST lady you could meet. She was a reader - LOVED to get her hands on books (intellectual books - deep thinking ones) and her greatest trial in the last few years was losing her eyesight to cataracts. But what an amazing prayer warrior. What makes Bob and I sad is that she was praying for a greater ministry for Bob - and although we've known the answer to that prayer for a few weeks, we couldn't tell her until all of it was put into place and the main people notified (ministry leaders, deacons, etc.). I know that she now knows that prayer was answered but I'd have loved to have been able to tell her. This sweet woman even worked with me in the kitchen for VBS - washing dishes since it was the only thing she could do. She worked in the kitchen until 3 years ago - she was 97!!! Imagine?? So we'll go to the funeral homes tonight. :(

Hey, Lady Sue, what is this invite I see all over the thread for last night's supper at your house? For I sure didn't get one. I am offended.....

Ann, you are training horses?! You must be multi talented.

Sorry to hear about your friend's departure. She must have been quite a lady. Those elder saints are precious. We learn so much from them. May the good Lord comfort you with the thought that she is now in a far better place than we can ever imagine. :type:

Yep - here's my guy - he's a 13 year old horse who's new to the discipline I do - dressage. We both have been off all winter (me for carpal tunnel surgery and he because I was out for carpal tunnel surgery - LOL - not to mention it was too icy and hard to ride him anyway)

Yes - I can just imagine her joy at being with Jesus - she loved Him SO much and everyone around her could see that. She can now see, stand straight (she was very hunched over) and praise God with all of her being. :D Praise God!

Bro. Barnabas: Come on over! The supper is tonight - not last night, so you didn't miss anything! I would never forget to invite YOU! I cooked everything yesterday so I could feed the school kids their lunch today.

The lunch went great. I made six batches of cornbread and almost ran out! Two of the girls ate three pieces of cake each!!! I guess it was a hit. LOL

I'm going to take a nap. CYAL!

No fabric department!?!?!?!:BangHead: What's the matter with those people!??

There are two Wal-Mart Supercenters in Valdosta, one has fish and both have fabric departments.

Fish only live about two weeks in this house, so that is not as big a deal to us.

Saw the Oncologist yesterday and he was very pleased, obviously, at the good result from the first treatment cycle. Will pick up the new scrip tomorrow and start Cycle 3 Saturday morming.

Alright, all is forgiven. But you mind if I get a rain check? Lenke and I are expecting our nieces over for dinner. One of the niece comes from upstate NY. She is a professor of English Lit. in Rochester. They came to see a show on Broadway and spend a couple of hours with us. So, have a great party! I'll check in next time. :type:

The last time my Wife and I went to Walmart at the end of our shopping she asked me "Do you need a Paramedic?" I replied "No. I need a-pair-of-knees!"

I'm going to watch Michigan State on TV in the NCAA Tournament tonight. If they win they'll play NC State next.

    Could both be good games.

I hate to tell you ladies, but Walmart is doing away with the fabric at a great many of their stores. Folks have complained but it does little good. I've already heard rumors that ours is due to lose it before the end of the year. When it goes, I will go. There is a number on their website that you can call and add your complaints to everyone else's.

    Good Evening Everyone!

Busy, busy, busy here. Hopefully it'll slow down after Easter. Next week is spring break and I intend to use the time to get everyone's Easter clothes put together.

Gotta go help Jenna get the rest of her AR points. She's read so much the last few days that she dreaming about reading!

In the middle of all that is happening all around us which is in need of prayer, I cannot help but notice that, for Barry and me personally, these are the magic days. And I am holding them each tightly and appreciating them. Our marriage is wonderful and close and blessed. The days are mild and the flowers starting to bloom. We have no debts and we do have good friends. It looks like the astronomy course he is teaching may be accredited for both high school and college, and I am thrilled for him.

We've been through a lot, and right now, for these days, this is a very, very special time. All of our fish (and six are from WalMart) are alive and healthy in our aquarium, even! Chris went to bed without a fuss tonight and Barry found a paper with information he thought he had lost. The dishes are done and the house is clean....mostly....enough for tonight, anyway. And the laundry is caught up and there are only three shirts that need ironing.

It's just one of those times, for this minute now, when I am utterly content and deep down happy just to be me, married to him, living here, and getting pleasantly sleepy as the evening advances.

God bless you all. I pray you all have moments like this in your lives.

Because who knows what will greet us the next day?

BTW Helen, I'm a "who" not a "what." If that wasn't the perfect lead-in I've never seen one.

    Good Morning Everybody,

    * YAWN * I'm tired this morning. After watching both MSU and UNC in the NCAA tournament last night I'm yawning this morning. MSU won with ease, and I thought that UNC was going to be upset, but wasn't meant to be. The game tomorrow should be good, unless any UNC fans on the BB want to concede the game and save some grief. LOL.

On a much more serious note Please be in prayer for me on Monday morning. I was subpoened yesterday to appear in court in a child [infant] custody case. I know the defense is going to attack my credibility, and try to discredit my testimony. I am very anxious and scared about this. If it just concerned me I could muddle thru it, but it involves the future of a child and thus couldn't be of more importance. I'm posting my Prayer Request in the Prayer Request & Praise thread also. I'm going to need all the help I can get. My Therapist has taught me some tools to deal with times like this, so I don't "crash and burn", and yes I'm sure the defense will manage to work my breakdown into their questions as well. Ten years ago I could have sailed thru this like a hot knife thru butter, but I'm not the same person I was ten years ago either. No amount of cooking "therapy" is going to help me. When your only gift is cooking and you have to face something like this it's like bringing a knife to a gunfight. It's not a lot of help.

I brought in Eggs, Bacon and Sausage, Hashbrowns, Sausage Gravy and Hot Homemade Biscuits. Enjoy!

The Ham 'n Beans supper was great last night Sue. You don't know how I wish I could cook and provide the atmosphere you do, and you make it all look so effortless. Don't worry about the entertainment...I provided my own "music" on the way home.

Time to get chores done, and I have an appointment with my Therapist today.

Helen: You certainly know how to count your blessings! It's amazing how God gives us those moments (or days) when we need them the most!

    Good morning all,

Winter is here again. My what a short spring! It is 25º this morning, heading for a high of 39º. Cold weather and rain is in the forecast for at least the next 7 days.

Brent is on break from school all next week, so we will be tackling the sun porch. I bought us each a pair of safety goggles and some masks. Add that to the 'fishing' hat Brent will wear, and the 'farmer's' hankie, I will probably wear to keep that junk out of our ears and hair and we ought to make a pretty picture!

I have already cooked and frozen our suppers for next week so I don't have to quick change from demolition duty, to cook, when I'm sure I'm going to be tired by supper time.

I have taken Brent to school and it's time to get busy on the laundry. I usually do that on Monday, but not next week. I will be busy being a carpenter...

BTW, to all of you who didn't make it for ham 'n' beans last night - they were delicious!!!:applause:

    HAGD!

I'm getting on late today - it was a busy morning and was supposed to be a busy day but the weather got in the way. Yesterday was 62 degrees - right now we've got 3" of snow, it's sleeting and we're due for another 4" of snow tonight. So, while I'm at church, we canceled homeschool group, canceled the tambourine worship practice (my girls walk to church for this so I'm glad it was canceled), then we decided to cancel our small group tonight - and finally I convinced the youth pastor to cancel too. SO, instead of being up at church until 6, racing home, eating and heading back out, we're all home and will relax to watch a movie in front of the fire!! Yea!!! Because of 2 funerals, our pastor couldn't get the sermon done enough to give me notes to make a PowerPoint, so there will be no sermon notes (which I MUCH prefer - I hate the fill-in-the-blank stuff).

SOOOO, now it's time for a cup of tea and to relax. Ahhhhhhh.
