It is 74°F & clear here in AL. We really need some rain. ABC 33/40 website says it should get to 90°F today. The next chance of rain for us will not be until Wednesday of next week. ugh...

I didn't get as much done at the church as I wanted to yesterday. I just wasn't in the mood to sew. But, I did get all my projects (21 of them) tagged with what needs to be done to them ) and Cindi put button holes on a dress for me. Now all I have to do is put the buttons on. Isn't she wonderful?!

Jeremy, the kids and I have to take a trip to Pelham. We found out that Jeremy has money in a "fund" where he use to work (1998-2003). If he can get the paper work to them by noon they can get it faxed and we should get a check by the 1st part of July. PTL....we have not had any income since 5/26.

I better run, got to get out the door quick!
Hope you all have a wonderful day!

    Good morning everyone!

Tanya's not the only one who didn't get much done at church yesterday. By the time I got there all I wanted to do was take a nap! Must have been a side effect of having 6 kids in my house the night before. :D

I still haven't really recovered today and haven't accomplished anything except getting dressed. I have to go get groceries and I need to clean out my freezers and my refridgerator before I do. This afternoon I'm taking the kids to B'ham where T is going to take them to see Fantastic Four and I am going to shop for the thread I need for some dresses I'm making. If the movie's not going to be too long, I may see it with them and shop after, but comic character movies really aren't my thing.

The kids are quiet this morning too. Nevermind......the noise has begun!

Howdy...from wintry Brisbane......a glorious sunny mild day, sheets aflapping in the solar dryer, me raking in the yard, the cat showing off madly, happy child noises from next door....what more can I ask for.........

Mother came over for a roast lamb dinner and I lit the fire just for fun ( a fireplace in Brisbane is a bit of a novelty)...just ran her home again and I think I shall put on a jacket as it is a bit nippy. I saw about 400 hundred photos of the Yukon and Alaska....it must be fun to see running water in creeks and ice etc.....exciting to see real live bears, Dall sheep, squirrel types etc, she had a ball.......

Have a great day and stay well...:wavey:

    Good morning all,
I am not staying but a minute, I am going to try to catch a nap before nephew's ball games start. He has three games today! They are all make up games from the rain a couple of weeks ago.
Camp was AWESOME! There where 4,500+ kids that where there all week! As of Friday morning there where over 1,200 kids who had made some kind of decision; over 300 of those where saved. One of the girls I took was saved Tuesday nite! I gotta run!

Are you talking about Falls Creek?
Sounds like the new Tabernacle is impressive.

My church's group goes in a couple of weeks.

    Karen,
Yes, I am! The new tabernacle is breath taking. They had some problems with flooding in the new chapel and some of the conference rooms in the back but hopefully will get them redone and repaired soon. Two of my three kids had been a couple of years ago before so they where really impressed. I will be praying for you and your youth group. Have loads of fun!

    Good morning all,

We're facing another day of between 95º and 100º temperatures. Starting tomorrow, we will have isolated thunderstorms all week. Of course, that's when my 'workers' will be here to put up the siding... :BangHead:

Well, today is my baby's birthday. Shawna is 36 now. Where did the time go??? It's also Father's Day and we are taking hubby out to dinner after church. Tomorrow is my oldest son's (Pastor Bob) and his wife's 24th wedding anniversary. They will be arriving here tomorrow evening from Arkansas to help with the siding.

I filled the trunk of the car and the back seat with enough groceries to cook 3 squares all next week. I will have between 5 and 10 people for each meal all week, but won't know how many to cook for each day until I see who shows up each morning.

It will be a busy week as I take my car in Tuesday morning to have the scratches removed and most of the car repainted where someone 'keyed' it.

Friday morning is Brent's appointment with the urologist to try and find out why he had a very bad UTI. This will entail some very expensive tests, but the doctor feels like it should be done.

Time to fix breakfast and get ready for church.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY DADS AND GRANDPAS!

    Good afternoon all,

Looks like everyone is busy today.

I got my biopsy report back and the spot on my temple is malignant, so I go to the oncologist and get cut on some more.:tear:

I am really busy today, getting ready for Bob and Steph. I washed the sheets and comforter for their bed and hung them out on the line so they would smell really fresh. Guess what? It wasn't supposed to rain - but it is! When it stops I'll go out and get them and put them in the dryer. It is supposed to rain off and on all day.

I sure hope it doesn't rain all week or they won't be able to get the siding put up...

    HAGD!

Sue - I'm sorry about the diagnosis on your biopsy. I pray that the doctors can get it all and that you'll have a clean bill of health afterwards. ((HUGS))

Not much going on here today. I went riding and will be taking my 17 year old to school for a big test review. The test is on Wednesday and if she doesn't pass this, she'll fail the class and have to take summer school - which would basically ruin the entire summer. :( So please pray that she passes! Thanks!

If busy includes kids with a stomach virus and pink eye, I guess you can include me in that description! I told my children that it is summer time and it is unfair to make me sit in the docs office, but they just didn't listen. To be fair, I only took Cass in. She had the pink eye and the drops I had here I didn't think were the right stuff for pink eye. Turns out they were, but while we were there they took care of several immunizations that she needed. Poor kid went in for pink eye and ended up getting three unexpected shots.

Jenna, the one that had the throwups is now fine and fussing cause I won't let her go up the block to her friends house to play. "but I feeeeel beeeettter nooooowwwww!" I'm glad she does but she still isn't getting out of the house until tomorrow and I'm sure. Her friend's mom doesn't want the throwups at her house any more than I wanted it at mine.

Lucky Chris has so far escaped alll the excitement so he had to make some of his own. Yup you guessed it. He has been pestering his sisters. And then he feels sorry for them and turns around and does something nice for them, like bringing them a drink or a snack.

I have been sooo sleepy today and I'm just about to head for my bed with the remote. Except for sitting 3 hours at the docs office and throwing in one load of wash and one load of dishes, I really haven't done anything today (didn't do much over the weekend either). I don't understand why I'm so sleepy but I'm going to cave and go to bed.....zzzzzzzzzzzz!

Ha! Everyone must have been even more tired than I was last night! Makes me feel better, since yesterday was not a productive day for me. Hopefully today will be better!

    Good Morning Everyone!

Guess what we had last night? RAIN! Yay!!!! And we have a strong possibility of getting some more today. It won't break the drought but in my opinion every drop counts!

Today will be spent doing everything I should have gotten done yesterday and getting the watermelon juice off my kitchen floor! Watermelon juice on the floor is what you get when you let children, even half grown children, cut their own watermelon slices. Then they complain about the floor being sticky! Oh, well, one day they will have children of their own and they will begin to understand. :D

Jenna is much better this morning and Chris is up smiling wondering when Cade will get here. Ya'll will hear a lot about Cade now that it is summer. Cade is Chris' best friend and practically lives here when not playing baseball and football. The kid's quite the athlete, but it is rainy today and tomorrow is his "day off", so I expect to have him tonight and tomorrow night.

All I need to know now is how Cass' pink eye is doing. I have it on good authority that Tanya does NOT want pink eye at her house. (I wonder why? ;) ) Cass will have to stay here if she not better instead of going to church to play while we smock.

I better go work on finding a path through the living room. T and the boys won't be able to play video games this evening if the can't get to the TV!

    Good Morning Everybody,

It is 70 and raining here, the forecast is for the rain to quit by noon then become sunny. We certainly needed the rain though.

Sue: Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Praying that the docs are able to remove all of it and you get a "clean bill of health." As far as the family-fix-up project is concerned: just remember Murphy's Law [actually Murphy was an optimist.]

I'm definitely going to stay away from my Cuz's house. We definitely don't need any pink eye around here. Be nice to your children Cindi. Remember they'll pick your nursing home.

I'm a little early for lunch but I don't think anybody'll mind. I brought in "Fried" Pecan Chicken Fingers, Cilantro Potato Salad, and Lemonade Stand Pie for dessert. Enjoy.

Have to go into town to get groceries and run some errands. You won't hear me complaining about driving in the rain.

    Good day, all.

We finally got a rain shower today! I've never been so excited over one little rain shower. It didn't come too soon either. The counties bordering us are under water restrictions but somehow, we've managed to bite the bullet so far. We won't get enough to really help ... well, maybe the grass will green up for a few days. We'll take it!

Thank ya, Lord, for the rain! [IMG]

Is this "pink eye" the same pink eye common to cattle and sheep? I never heard of it in humans.

We have had a dry spell here as well, with the very odd shower. We are expecting rain the next three days, however.

I have already lost another fruit tree to the drought. Not sure I will trouble planting anymore of them.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Good night all,
I guess I get to be the one who turns the lights out and since I have been gone from home again-it is good to be home. Dad had to go to the VA hospital in Dallas for his three month check up. He had to be there at 9:00 this morning so we went down last night. The doc there changed his insulin so we will see.
Sue: You are in my prayers.
We had a pretty bad storm system come through yesterday. It caused some flooding and deaths in a couple of the counties just south of where I live. We got the smallest amount of rain at about 6 inches. They closed a couple of the major highways and it got very serious within a few hours. I had better go, I need to find out if we are making homemade ice cream tonight or tommorrow.

    Good Morning Everyone!

Jim, I think it is similar, but probably not the same bacteria or virus. In humans, pink eye can be caused by either or it can come from an allergy attack. Allergies usually affect both eyes and not just one. The difference between viral pink eye and bacterial pink eye is the severity of the symptoms. The doc decided that Cass' was viral (goes away on it's own) but gave us antibiotic drops "just in case". Hers was gone with the drops by yesterday morning. The bacterial form is outright nasty and can cause damage to the eye if left untreated. We've had this form too and it is particularly contagious. For some reason it seems children get pink eye far more often than adults and the adults who do get it usually get it from their kids! I don't know why it is more common in the south than the north, but you aren't the first person of northern origin to tell me that you've never seen a case in humans.

Overslept today. T is still trying to get out the door. I better go get his clothes together.
