Checking in from NON snowy NY. But I still do have one home - she's upstairs sleeping with a stomach virus (sleeping is good - vomiting is not). I haven't heard from her since 6 this morning when she told me she threw up so could she stay home. Yep! Sure can dear! LOL

Not much going on here yet again. Kids are doing homeschooling, oldest is at school, hubby is at church when he's supposed to be taking the week "off" to work on the church website. Hopefully he'll be home soon.

Oh - the sickie just came down. She IS alive and unfortunately still vomiting. SIGH

    Good Morning Everyone!

I'm gonna be busy the next couple or three days, so ya'll don't miss me too much!

In honor of my mini vacation, I have brought in sausage and bisquits from Hardee's cause ya'll know I don't cook, even when I'm not on vacation. I'm certainly not going to cook ON my vacation. Not vacationing anyways. I have four projects that I need to make major progress on so I'm cutting out the computer time for a few days whilst I work.

Now Cuz, I almost froze to the ground trying to make snow angels in that tiny little bit of snow that made it down here. There was so little that it melted when I touched it. Next time, send more and you might just get a pic.

Today the sun is shining bright and the temps are supposed to get up into the 40's and maybe 50's. It doesn't feel as cold out there as the thermometer reads cause the sun is really warm. The wind is blowing though and it is cooling things down.

I'll see ya'll in few days!

    Good Morning Everybody,

It is 21 and snowing here. We've been told to expect a minimum of 5" with blowing and drifting this afternoon.

Our school district is now out of "snow days." From here on if we have to cancel school due to snow we'll have to make it up in June. This is the snowiest February we've had in Michigan.

I've been trying to teach the older Gkids some of the simple points of cooking. I taught myself to cook while I was still a bachelor. There is the old adage about the single guy who can only cook eggs and who lives on "junk food" and I didn't want that to be me. I started with simple dishes and eventually "graduated" to other dishes I learned to prepare. I've been lucky so far...nobody's got sick and nobody's died from my cooking...yet.

I brought in Waffles, Eggs, Bacon, and Sausage Gravy and Biscuits. Enjoy.

Geez Cuz, talk about a "busman's holiday." The least you can do is sit in the sun so you come back from your "vacation" with a tan. Come back soon, we need somebody to keep us in stitches. Don't say it, I know I'm an old "sew & sew."

Time to go out and snowblow the walks and drive. I'll probably look like the abominable snowman when I come back in...Wife says it doesn't take snow to make me abominable. * SIGH * I forgot how Wives can provide such positive re-enforcement.

Good morning all! Just stopped for a small cup of decaffeinated coffee and a slice of plain toast. Thanks for having these things ready to go Lady Sue. Have not checked into this part of the BB for some time now on account of my vision. Can't see the small prints, have to use a magnifyer. Had laser surgery on both of my eyes to pug up the bleeding vessels and clear the fuzyness but the progress is slow. Covet your prayers.

I haven't seen Helen around for some time now. If I am not mistaken it was her real Birthday yesterday (2008 being a leap year). Since she celebrates her birthdays every four years, she is only in her teens. Happy Birthday Helen! May you have many happy returns in the Lord. :flower:

We had about two inches of snow last night but by the morning it all washed away. It is nice and sunny from this side of the window. Trust that you folks are having a great weekend and a blessed day tomorrow in the house of the Lord!

Hi Barnabas! It's so good to 'see' you again. I miss you dropping in with bits of wisdom! Praying that your eyes get well fast so you can visit us more often!

    Good morning all,

It looks like it is going to be a nice sunny warm (by comparison) day. Maybe we can get rid of the rest of this snow that is hanging around!

I just popped in to say 'hi'. I have a lot of typing and printing to do today and then I have to install a new kitchen faucet, so I'd best get to it.

    HAGD!

Blessings Brother Barnabas! Good to see you. Sorry to read about your eyes, and trust the laser treatment has done the job. I know what it means to have difficulty reading.

    Cheers, and God bless,

    Jim

Barnabas! It's so good to see you! Just so you know, I keep asking these people to send us their extra snow but none of it is coming! :( Oh well. ;)

Hey everyone! Went to the college that it looks like Lauren will be going to again - this time with DH. It was a nice visit and I think it will be a good experience for her.

We've had some sickies down here - my 15 year old came home on Monday vomiting and was home through Wednesday. Both girls were in school on Thursday and then my oldest came home that afternoon with a HORRIBLE sinus infection. She stayed home from school on Friday and I got her to the doctor. She snuffled through the college tour but she's feeling better thanks to the antibiotics, so that's good.

Not much else going on. I lead such a boring life! LOL!

Hey Brother Jim, good to see you too. But I am afraid the laser treatment on my left eye did not do such a good job I was hoping for because I still see you in double.....

Ann, just a little up North they have all the snow they can handle. I am glad for the abundance of snow there, for it means that come this summer we will have plenty of water in the Big Apple. But our extended family who live upstate New York, say that they have all the snow they can handle this season. But thank God, Spring is just around the corner - if we believe the prediction of the Staten Island groundhog. :)

    Good Morning Everyone!

Ann, it seems to be the season for sickies. I got mine well and then came down with the crud myself! So much for my projects as I haven't felt well enough to work on them much. But tomorrow is another day and my vacation from the BB will recommence. I'm really behind now, so I will be working hard the next couple of days or so.

I did accomplish the making of a couple of baby bonnets yesterday evening. A customer called wanting some and those at least are fairly simple to make. The big two projects for the week are a pageant dress that has a million layers to the skirt that of course needs hemming among other things and a little girl that I am smocking Raggedy Ann and Andy on. I can come back again when I get those two finished.

Barnabas, it's good to see you, even if just in passing. I'll remember to pray for your eyesight.

The rest of you be good. Don't leave the Coffee House in a mess for Sue to clean up. :D

I'm off to to Upward basketball awards and then softball practice (where I'll smock while I watch). Then, probably I'll be to tired from this cold to do anything but go to bed.

    Ya'll have a blessed Sunday.

    Good Afternoon Everybody,

Aw gee Cuz! Do we have to??? [stomps around room, then sits in corner and pouts.] I'm talkin' about being good, not picking up after myself. I don't want Sue to come in and really "clean house", if you know what I mean.

Sorry you're feelin' under the weather. I would suggest a home cooked meal, soft music, and a long, uninterrupted hot bath surrounded by aromatherapy candles. I'll pm you the dinner so at least you don't have to worry about that, you're on your own for the rest.

Good to hear from you Barnabas, but sorry to hear about the vision difficulties. Praying that your sight improves so you can enjoy all the beauty around you.

Just got a weather alert on my computer. Right now it is 53 degrees with light rain, we have the possibility of thunderstorms. Starting tomorrow night we have a Winter Storm Watch through Wednesday night. The powers that be are predicting a minimum of 6" of snow for our area, with high winds and blowing and drifting snow. This is why I love Michigan... [actually I love to leave it - and I do as often as I can.]

Not much else going on here right now. I don't want to say that too loud though, just when I do something jumps up and bites me.

Wow, it sure is quiet 'round here! Hope everyone's feeling better and keeping the ooey-gooeys at bay.

Expecting a foot of snow here today. Battening down the hatches in preparation.
Hope this is the last measurable snow for us! [IMG] Any more comes, I'm shipping it to Ann!

S'pose I'll be leaving out some bagels w/ cream cheese, coffee and hot chocolate for y'all.

    HAGD! :wavey:

    Tonight

A group of us from the seminary are going to the Prague Municial Library theater room to attend a concert sponsored by the Embassy of India. Should be quite interesting.

After the concert we will probably stop at a restaurant near the seminary for a cup of Expresso, some crepes with ice cream. Come, join us.

Sounds fun! Hope you have a great time at the concert. :wavey:

Me thinks we should have expresso, and crepes with ice cream instead of bagels w/cream cheese for breakfast!

    Good morning all,

Too late PJ. I haven't been around for a few days because I have a bad case of the ooey-gooeys. :(

I thought I was going to make it all the way through winter, especially since I got a flu shot this year.

Unfortunately, I got a Type A flu shot and I have Type B flu...

I am going to try and eat something today. Nothing has stayed down for quite awhile and I'm starting to feel hungry.

    Going back to the couch.

    HAGD all!

Sue, there has been a lot of flu type illnesses going around this year and it seems to hang on. I had a lengthy bout with sinusitis, and it has been over a month now. It is finally breaking for me.

We are also getting our fill of snow this year. It is our second worst winter in history......may even break that record before March is done.

To-day I was blowing snow that is waist deep in spots, and we have a possible 8 inches of snow yet to come by morning.

Cheers to everyone. Keep looking up.....yep, more white stuff........

    Jim

The concert was great. Four musicians and a dancer from Southern India. Well over 400 in attendance.

And, we skipped the Expresso, but the crepes with ice cream and fruit was great. :godisgood:

    Good morning all,

It is 27º and the sun is shining. What a pleasant change!!!

Can spring be far behind? LOL I'm ready!

Papers have been delivered and I'm ready for some bacon, scrambled eggs, and homemade cinnamon rolls. I left some on the sideboard in case anyone stops by. Help yourself.

Sorry I didn't have time to make crepes with ice cream and fruit, crabtownboy, maybe later in the week!

Have a great day! Gotta run...

Hey everyone! I just got back from our church's ladies' retreat and we had a wonderful time. But if you guys can pray - my reception home wasn't as good as it seems that Satan came for a visit. :( Nothing horrible but my hubby and I had words over nothing and I got very hurt. He's apologized and said that he has no clue why it happened and prayed about it and asked for a "do over" but it still hurts. SIGH - I know that I'll feel better tomorrow but it doesn't help for tonight, you know??

I'll "see" ya'll tomorrow! Thanks for your prayers.
