G'day all! Jim, would you please try harder to keep the snow and ice up there? ;)
We've had 10+ inches of snow with a layer of ice in between in the last 48 hours. Some power is out locally; we're beginning to dig out. Gina, you can have Alaska! Come on April 1st!!

Blessings to each of you ... :wavey:

You want to rush April Fool's Day? I have seen two feet of snow on the ground even in April.....

The news people tell us this snow we have now comes from the Ohio area, so rather than sending it your way, we are actually helping you out by taking some....

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Good morning PJ and Jim!

PJ, it's not that I'm not looking forward to warmer weather, I'm just enjoying the other stuff around in the meantime, like the northern lights up there dancing!

My mom died on April Fool's Day. I thought it was a joke... I also know someone I think should have been born on April Fool's Day, but let's not go there!

My back's hurting pretty intensely, even with taking toradol and vicoden together, so I haven't gone to bed yet. Instead I'm making bread. Yum! I'm waiting now for the dough to rise on this particular loaf. I made the first one plain old bread, but the one I'm waiting on has a bit of sugar and a mix of spices, with lots of cinnamon included!

Hi Gina, I guess that means I am not to expect you to help me blow snow from my lane towards Ohio?

I keep blowing and it keeps snowing..seems like a never ending battle.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Oooohhhh, my brain is mush! I sat here for a minute with a visual of us both standing outside and puffing away at the snow, then I remembered they have snowblowers!

How about if I give you a nice thick slice of warm cinnamon bread, barely sweet and with a touch of nutmeg, for extra energy before you go out?

    Welcome to Vicodenland...

So, Jim, let me see if i get this... Ontario borrows the snow from Ohio and then, in returning it to the States, dumps it on New York? I guess it can't be pure Ohio snow because y'all send it over the lake (Ontario. Erie is frozen over) and we get that wonderful lake effect snow. We got around a foot of windswept global warming yesterday... :wavey:

    Any muffins left?

Hmm ... it's something like that, Padre. I bet those Northern Lights are fab to see, Gina! Sorry to send that snow your way for a change, Jim. But tell you what, I'm feelin' generous ... each of you can keep my share!!

I had a pretty serious injury about 5 months ago, and ran into big trouble with the Tramadol HCL I was prescribed. I am not too proud to admit I have had trouble with opiates in my lifetime, and in no time at all, I was engulfed in full fledged dependance on the pills. I went thru the withdrawals, and am learning to live with the daily pain.

Not everyone has the history I have, but I urge caution with these types of painkillers.

All medicines have their dangers. If my doctor prescribes more than one pill for something, he knows he is in for a long debate.

He prescribed Lipitor for me and I had exactly three pills and down the loo the rest went. I absolutely refused to take them. It wasn't long after that the warnings came about Lipitor!

    Cheers,

    Jim

Some of those warnings are pretty scary. Lymphoma, liver bleeding, seems like you can kill yourself trying to get well.

Yes, I do know Vicoden is supposed to be addictive.
And Toredol is normally not taken at home...and usually started by IV so you can be monitored, and not taken for more than five days at a time.

But I'm on both of them almost daily now. (along with Lyrica, heart and nausea meds, and one other one)

I'll take living shorter and being able to live at least a little over living longer and being a bed-ridden crabapple!

So far I don't think I'm addicted to the Vidoden. I test myself sometimes and will quit taking it for a few days and up to a week to make sure or 24 hours before I have to drive somewhere if I can't get a ride, but I don't know that addiction even matters to me. I guess I'd rather be a functioning addict than a non-functioning non-addict. I tried not taking them at all, them some whacko accused me of being addicted to stuff and in discussing the situation with a few of the elders, they helped me conclude that not functioning out of fear of what others would say if I took the meds given to help me live a semi-normal life was kinda dumb.

Restless legs are an early sign of addiction. If you ever are laying down and want to pull the skin off of your face, that is an indication it's probably time to stop.

Like I said, I'm not everyone. I wish you weren't in any pain at all. I know when I was deep in, the last thing I wanted to do was talk with other Christians, so you are probably doing OK with it.

But I am here for anyone, just full of ways to stop, if you ever need anything. :flower:

    Thanks Curtis!

Well, good morning folks! It's -12 and nature's white blanket is growing thicker.

And my dish pile in the sink grew too. GRRRRR!!!!

It's only 5am here, but I've been up for an hour. I was having some weird dream and then thought someone was banging on the door, so I jumped about fifty feet and yelled! Must have been too much stress because now my skin's all red and I'm so itchy I'm going nuts, so just took Benadryl. Either that or I grew suddenly allergic to the BB. OH NO!

I was hoping to get taxes done by tonight but I don't have all the information I'd like! I'm still waiting on two companies to send me 1099 forms. I'm starting to wonder if they are going to! If not, I'll have to sit here and go through the bills I sent them and add them up. Argh! Wait...that might be easier anyhow as I can just put everything that goes under self-employment income in just one lump sum instead of filling in the company tax info and amounts for each one separately. Hmm. I LIKE IT!

Ok, now I'm done talking to myself. LOL That was fun...

I think I'll go say hi to the moosies.

    Good morning all!

Well Gina, it was a good day until you mentioned taxes! :-/

I don't mind doing them once I get into it, but I'm not ready to get into it just yet. :)

I am late on doing my exercises and I don't eat breakfast until after, so I'd best get going. Hubby is home from work today but I will send him to the basement while I exercise. LOL

    HAGD!

    Good Morning Everybody,

Well for once it is not snowing here. We're up to 17 and the sun is shining.

Been spending the last couple of days at the hospital. Our friend Wanda who had an illistiomy two weeks ago is in with pneumonia, a collapsed lung, and a possible blood clot in the lung as well. Wanda is like a daughter to us and this is hard to see and to take. Your prayers would be welcome, and appreciated.

We've got some shopping to do and then we're going back up to the hospital for awhile.

Did I say snow? Yeppers, we still have it and more coming. It must be winter in Canada. I'll warm up the snowblower and have another go at sending it south. Just 20 miles south of me the police are warning people to avoid the area the snow is so bad.........

Good to see everyone here. Take care and bless.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Good to see you too Jim.

We are beginning to see the first signs of Spring coming - daffodils and snowdrops are emerging now. So good to see the daffodils. :)

    I hope everyone is ok?

    Blessings

    Spring? What is that?

Source: NYS Golden Snowball Award Contest

We have an official 119.4 inches of snowfall for the season. There will still be snow in the woods come May!

Okay Sue, last time (hopefully) that I'll mention taxes!

I did them today. I got stuck in software that wouldn't let me remove a car as a business expense after I put it on there and then realized I had to fill out a zillion other questions about the car, and not HAVING the car anymore, I couldn't go out and look or anything and had lost the gas receipts when I moved!

Ticked me off. I growled, moaned, kept trying, then my daughter walked in and I snapped at her to let me be and then SHE got upset and then I felt bad for making her feel bad so then I was more upset and went to go fix that with her and then I had a piece of chocolate cake and tried again and it worked.

In other words, LEARN FROM ME! Get yourself a modest slice of chocolate cake and eat it before you do your taxes and it'll all be much better.

Either that or asparagus. Man. Asparagus sounds really yummy right now! I haven't seen it since we moved here. I sure hope they get it in summer!

    Good morning all!

Gina, I never thought about making chocolate cake part of doing my taxes. Good idea!!!:)

I have to be left alone when I do mine too. I don't want any interruptions as I really have to concentrate to get them done right.

Well, it's 4:30a.m. and 9ºF. Even so, Spring, come quickly!

I am waiting for the newspapers to arrive so I can fold them, bag them, and band them. Then I will wake up DH and he will deliver them for me. He does that all winter. I just do them in the warm months due to health issues.

Usually, DH is very scriptural when it comes to making the coffee...'Hebrews', but I do it for him on the weekends, so I'd best get it made and lay out his long johns. He's gonna need them this morning!

    HAGD! Stay warm!
