Night Sue! I fell asleep just before the tie breaker last night. Just couldn't keep my eyes open!

Our daughter has cable so she sees everything a little ahead of us. Her Dad asked her what was happening in the Sunday Game! LOL

So just got home from a lovely concert - Wyoming Symphony Orchestra opened their season with Jupiter Symphony by Mozart, along with assorted other heavy-duty stuff (like Igor Stravinski's Firebird).

A wonderful elder in the Free church gave us season tickets as a "thank you" when we finished our interim pastorate their. Expensive - we usually just opt for one concert a year - but now we will attend all six! Thank you, Jesus.

Heading out in the a.m. to hear my son preach . . and taking the fly rod. They have a small pond (reservoir) at the base of the Big Horn Mountains and my 4-year old has been catching 12-14 ounce PERCH there. Can't think of a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

They don't have cable, and are out in the boondocks, so won't get ANY NFL. Sacrifice. No watching TV but take grandson fishing. Hmmmm.

    No sacrifice at all!!!

Good morning to any who may grace this hall with their attendance. The kettle is on and tea will be ready. Coffee is in the urn. The attendees here are dwindling so I made less of each.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Good Morning Jim,

Thank you for the coffee. I am late in because I had such a bad night. I hope you are ok and good morning to everyone else too.

I will go for a quick gander round and then look in later,

    God Bless

Good morning, Sheila...I am quite well, thank you. We are not doing anything to-day and the church is only a few minutes away, so not much driving. I pretty much know the Prayer Book and hymns, so I don't have to read anything. I feel naked without my spectacles though.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Jim,

Hello, yes, I expect you do miss your specs. I certainly would miss mine. I need new ones. I am finding it almost impossible to read footnotes in the text books now. LOL, must be getting old. I don't feel old tho. [IMG]

I have just been reading next weeks text for the "John "lecture. John 5:19-47, that will certainly be a good discussion, I am looking forward to that.

I hope you have a good morning Jim, I will look in later,

    Blessings

    Good Morning All!

The Cubs won again last night. They only need to win one more game and they will be in the World Series! [IMG]

Thank you Jim for putting the coffee on and getting the tea ready. I am sleepy this morning for some reason. I am usually wide awake when my feet hit the floor! I feel like I may have a cold coming on........I sure hope not.

Going to check my forums, I will be back. [IMG]

I am preaching on "Judas: The Traitor!" John 13: 21-30

His father and mother named him--Judas--"Praise of the Lord"--I wonder what they were thinking when they named him that?? "He's gonna be the next John the Baptist!!!??" Maybe! Israel's "Billy Graham!" Doubtless they thought he would be a son of God!!

But Jesus called him The Son of Perdition! The son of hell! The son of the devil!

E J Daniels said that Judas "kissed Heaven's door and went to hell!"

Pray for me this morning---lots of Judas' out there!

    Your buddy,
    Brother David

    Morning blackbird!

    Sounds like a good sermon!

Why did they name him Judas? I'm sure his mother wanted him to be a "Praise of the Lord". She had no way of knowing, when she played with her cute little baby, fed him, changed his diaper, that he would end up betraying Jesus.

No one talks much about Judas' mother; but you know she had to be heartbroken and grieved over what Judas did, as well as his death. She was a mother who loved her boy. I'm sure there were people who looked down on her too - as if it were HER fault. [IMG]

I wonder how Blackbird's sermon went?

Rob says a sermon should make one think and feel uncomfortable. Make one think how the teaching applies to them and what needs to be understood and or changed.

I think there is always room for improvement and we mustn't become complacent and think that a sermon doesn't apply to us. We can be too quick to judge others but are not qick enough to judge ourselves.

    Blessings

    Sheila

Wha?!? I thought they all applied to others --
especially her and him and that one! Certainly not
to me! I pray twice a day, I tithe my cummin, I
    don't smoke and I don't chew and I didn't marry
    any men who do.

    I'll take some tea, please.

Sure! Thank you! Then I will forego the honey for
    my tea.

I brought along some cut fruit -- bananas, grapes,
cantaloupe, plums, apples, and coconut with just
a few toasted pecans. For those of you who prefer,
there are some pink grapefruit slices in a bowl.

    Afternoon all!

It's a little chilly and breezy here today, typical Fall day. The leaves are beautiful, but I wish they'd stay on the trees!

I hope Barnabas is having a good time in Budapest, I sure miss him popping in here!

It is always quieter in here on Sunday. I think most people spend time going to church and being with their families. Imagine that!
