Sheila, if wife were here, she would confess, that I am the cook of the house, but I don't do outdoor cooking. My grandfather was a baker in London and later in Canada. My mother was a seamstress, so I also learned to sew. Taught both our daughters to sew, but they just ate the food and failed to learn how to cook.

I shall test my skils this winter with the pork pies.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Boy Howdy, it's been a long day with LOTS happening here in Casper.

Cool (40's) with heavy hail, then sleet, then slush all over the deck. Now sunshine and will be warm the rest of the week. Took a lot of leaves off the trees with that "heavy" rain!

Early morning did ordering for the clinic on the net. My website www.grif.net got hacked. Lots of fun and still not secure.

Acupuncture for 2 hours at 10 am, then anodyne and physical therapy 2 hours at 1 pm. Then off with the wife for a couple hours (she has Monday off). Too busy for the 'net.

Glad to see all are doing well, enjoying the holiday, eh? And munching on a liversausage sandwich . . .

Get the picture--Dr. Griff places his call into the switchboard of Dr. Blackbird's Physical Theapy office---he's goin' to the best, folks! One call--that's all!!!

Patiently---Blackbird counsels the good doctor over the phone---the easy cases Blackbird usually lets his secretary handle and talk the patient through---but Blackbird's secretary is mad at 'im because Blackbird forgot that last Thursday was National Physical Theorpist Secretary's day---and didn't give her the day off!!

"Listen to me, Doctor!! Its easier than you think! Go to your wife's sewing box she has in the closet!

    Are you there yet?

    "Yes!"

Now---take the stick pins out one by one and place them on the shag carpet in your bedroom---work them in to the carpet real good! Done?

    "Done!"

Now, when you get up through the nite for your usual 2am glass of water---and you walk over the pins in your bare feet----you will remind yourself that your "Thrown out" back don't hurt near as bad as the pins stickin' in your bare feet!"

Your Southern Baptist preachin' pin stickin' buddy,
    Blackbird

Now Abiyah! This is unreal! I don't like pie crust and you can keep the lemon filling... just give me the meringue!

Hey y'all! How's everyone tonight. Watching and praying the Red Sox kick some Yankee ... um.... um.... bases tonight! LOL

Abiyah: My son was allergic to merangue; can you imagine? All the time he was growing up I baked lemon pie without merangue. Now that he is married...I can have merangue again! [IMG]

Boy, howdy, Dr.B. It sounds like you were all stuck up today! Did it hurt?

Hey blackbird: You are just a jack of all trades...are you also master of none? :D

Diane: You stay up and root for the Red Sox for me! ;)

I am turning in fairly early tonight. No Cubs game until tomorrow and I have somehow managed to catch another cold, stuffy head, sneezing, and am losing my voice! (Hubby has probably been praying for that last one). [IMG]

    Pleasant dreams all!

SUE--certainly Blackbird is a master of ALL his escapades and "journeys of the mind"---in real life--its sorta true---I picked up on three or four trades I can do quiet well---though no master of any of them---then I picked up a few degrees in university and seminary---can preach---though there are plenty of preachers out there that can preach the gospel better than I can---can't nobody preach a better gospel than I can---

So--in real life--what you say is true---When Blackbird comes on the board and the post that he's responding to demands that Blackbird become "illustrious and invincable"---thinking with the mind of a genius---he makes his response in sattires and short stories---lettin' his mind "graze the pasture of available pictures" and then with sarcasm that is more or less harmless---he responds to the posters mind---though sometimes Preacher David Crowe responds to certain threads---you can tell the difference!!

So with that in mind---you are so true, Sue!

    Your buddy,
    Blackbird

Oh Blackbird you make me laugh so hard and then Bro. David Crowe preaches to my very soul! We need 'both' of you!

So, I'm rooting for the Red Sox cause I just cannot tolerate the Yankees! Why do we dislike the Yankee's so very much? They're a team you either love or hate. Never knew anyone who was ambivalent toward them.... or should I say ambidextrous Dr. Bob? LOL

Traced the culprits and found they are a bunch who are trying to sell their ANTI-HACKING software. They hit 100 of the BaptistTop 1000 sites (including mine).

Lousy sales pitch. Son is still working on getting it back to "normal" this evening.

Well I had deleted today's funnies from you before hubby saw it and had hoped to get it off your website. They were so funny!

Glad you tracked down the hackers! Not funny and NOT good business!

Well all, it's 11:15 and I've got a 9 month old to watch all week so I think I'm going to turn in.

Somebody let Sue know I didn't go to bed until I was sure the Red Sox won!

    Go Cubbies!!

I've resent the funnies to you, Diane. And today (Tuesday) grif.net are some absurd quotations from coaches (idiots - the theme of the past 10 days).

    Including:

From Pat Williams, Orlando Magic general manager, on his team's 7-27 record: "We can't win at home. We can't win on the road. As general manager, I just can't figure out where else to play."

From Steve Spurrier, Florida football coach, telling Gator fans that a fire at Auburn's football dorm had destroyed 20 books: "But the real tragedy was that 15 hadn't been colored yet."

From Frank Layden, Utah Jazz president, on a former player: "I told him, 'Son, what is it with you? Is it ignorance or apathy?' He said, Coach, I don't know and I don't care.'"

I signed up for the grif.net e-mail, but read it about 3 times so far. [IMG]
Now that it's still going to [email protected] and I'm not there anymore, I read it even less.
Which is very odd, because I really like the e-mails.
Confusion. It just runs rampant in me sometimes! [IMG]

Good Morning All. [IMG] I trust you all slept well? Breakfast is already and laid out for you. Today we make a quick trip down south after lecture, to see the children and grandchildren, fitting it in between lectures. Will be back Thursday. Take care.

    Blessings

Morning Sheila! Thanks for breakfast. Have a good time with the family and hurry back!

I have a head cold and it is 39º here this morning and drizzling rain. Just the kind of weather I need to be out in! :(

I guess I'm gonna have to break down and close the windows and turn the furnace on. I really don't want to do that yet 'cause it is still getting up into the 60's in the afternoon.

Diane: You did a fine job stopping the Yankees last night! [IMG] How you doing with that baby? I bet you're in the heighth of glory...I know I would be!
