I believe I spoke to quickly about ice - that is not having any.

I awoke this morning to find a thin layer of ice on my car - the gorund, etc.

Canisteo School system is on a two hour delay because of the ice.

The main road between Canisteo and Hornell was just fine - and now I am at work.

    Dan - an ice hater!

I don't understand what is going on. Which logo is the size to follow when posting graphics? the one on this page?

Where did this new rule that is the same as the old rule come from?

I still get those black and yellow wheels with many posts when they use Fortunecity.com. It is rather annoying, but I can live with it.

Oops, I am so depressed from OU's loss that I forgot to wish everyone Good Morning.

    GOOD MORNING!!!!!!!

It is still a great day in Oklahoma and I am happy for the LSU Fans.

At least OU got to go to the Sugar Bowl and they received "lots" of money even without the Title.

Got to go. Lots of things to do today.

Dr. Bob, it is nearly time for you for to the warm country.

    We live after you do!!!!!

Heard Ken Davis on a video last night - say that there were no bugs in Denver, Colorado.

Dr. Bob - do you have bugs in the western mountain region where you live?

Morning all! Monday, Monday.... Busy day. Back to school on top of all the regular housework and I'm considering taking down the remainder of our decorations. Jon took all out of the yard while the weather was so warm and I've taken the decorations out of all our bedrooms and bathrooms... but the tree is so beautiful. It's hard to take down.

I hear you Diane. The house always looks so bare after Christmas!

    Gee whiz,

I always feel like a scrooge around people like you ladies! LOL. I am always happy to take down the christmas tree, and decorations. I don't put many out anyway though. Less to put away. I think that is mostly due to the fact that i put the tree up the day after thanksgiving. It's a tradition of mine lol. So I am READY for it to come down!

I am also happy that my husband is back at work today and things are back to "normal" (whatever that is these days LOL)

Nice to see y'all! Have a great day!

    Hi Michele!

I am always glad when the Christmas decorations are taken down and packed away for another year, but the house DOES look bare after having all those cheerful colors up for a few weeks!

Oh well, Valentine's Day is only six weeks away! :D

Well, I decided the tree has to remain for at least today and so will the decorations in THAT room. It's raining out and we have to move the cars on to the drive to be able to get into the storage room at the front of the garage for the boxes. (Massive rationalization for laziness here)

I put up LOTS of decorations! I really enjoy them too. We decorate the day before Thanksgiving MOST years because family will come then but not again for Christmas but this year we decorated beginning on Thanksgiving. I really have taken down most things. Just about 50 snowmen figurines and the tree left to remove. Some years I leave the snowmen until Valentines since they're a winter theme and not just Christmas!

Boy Howdy from the frozen chosen in Wyoming. Nearly 10 a.m. and WARMED UP to -9F.

Usually have just 2-3 nights when it will drop b'zero, unlike the center of the continent (Dakotas, MinneSOta) where it is the norm this time of year.

It will be +50F by Friday. Kid you not.

But until then . . my heating bill will continue to soar. Deregulated gas so our prices are not "inching" upward - but "galloping"!

We have gas everything (hot water, stove, heat) and sure this month's bill will be $150ish. Under the old system never had a bill over $125 and that was the rare cold month. Oh well, it's only money!

Well, of course that's not true. But what he is saying is that elevation, cold weather, etc, DOES greatly reduce the number of bugs.

For example, we are at 5200 ft. We get a few mosquitos and flies, spiders, etc. But NOTHING like Iowa. And no COMPARISON with Texas.

But I do a lot of camping/backpacking (I'm into hard rock) and get up at 9-10,000 feet and you have VERY FEW bugs of any sort - no mosquitos, flies, just a few grub types under rocks.

Ken was obviously "generalizing" (in scientific terms, it's call LYING) or using a little hyperbole for effect.

    I hope.

I went outside for lunch today. Had to come back in, because it's too hot.

We've got the air conditioner on in the office and we may step out to the beach for some volleyball and work on out tans.

I might add the water is still way to cold to get in.

    Okay, Gib, rub it in.

BUT YOU GOT BUGS! I've been in Georgia.

And worse yet, you have the Braves and Falcons and NO SELF-RESPECTING STATE would tolerate that! :D

If Jim could find a job in a state with almost no mosquitoes I'd move in a heartbeat! Nick really enjoys being outside so much in the winter and early spring when he doesn't have to worry about mosquito bites! We have to MAKE him come in and he sure smells like a little boy by then. LOL

I love the snow and don't mind winter weather at all. I hate the worst heat of summer.... but I love being in a very Baptist area where we're in the majority! Very few non-Republicans or non-conservatives here! Our guys fight over who is the more pro-life candidate. LOL

Well it is COLD here in WA.

I have to put the last few Christmas things away, and I am shampooing the carpets today.

The kids are back at their school work. It's so nice to have them all home and the routine going again.

Tomorrow they are forecasting lots of snow. What a treat - except that the last time we got lots of snow, in 96, a lot of commercial roofs fell in from the weight.

I've been an Atlanta-do-nothing Braves fan since I was a wee little lad. You must have been, what? 43?

HI Jul, Nick's lessons today from Bob Jone U.P. is about a Jewish family beginning a New Year in a new land and it's quite interesting. Talks about a lot of Jewish customs. He's quite a reader so he's insisted on doing the whole story line today instead of breaking it up as they suggest. He's like me... get's into a story and doesn't want to wait for the ending.

It is nice having them back into the daily routine tho!

I was deeply HURT (traumatic) by the abandonment of the Midwest by sports teams.

Like they wanted to go someplace BETTER to play and make more $$ and we Minnesotans weren't good enough.

I was a gangly tall kid and George Mikan was my hero. Until the Minneapolis Lakers moved to LA.

We had no baseball team and the nearest one were the Milwaukee Braves . . until they headed your way.

And even as I grew up and raised my kids, we went to see the North Stars play hockey - what a great time! Then they disappeared and became the "Stars" in Texas.

Just waiting for the Twinkies to be "contracted". And not sure if the ViQueens will EVER reach their glory days again.

Atlanta is getting rid of everyone on the team, it seems. Jordan says he does not follow teams, but the players.
