TO THE COMMON GROUND COFFEE HOUSE #30

I will try to be here to serve you; but if not, feel free to help yourself.

First one in every morning puts the coffee on, last one out at night turns the lights off...

We serve donuts, cinnamon toast (dry toast available upon request), crumpets, bagels, scones, croissants, brioche rolls, yogurt, salads, light lunches, popsicles, ice cream, homemade cookies and homemade pies, and homemade jams.

We also serve coffee (with caffeine and without), hot chocolate, hot tea, iced tea, fresh squeezed lemondade and orange juice, cappucino, Mountain Dew, DP, DDP, Coke, Pepsi, Diet Sierra Mist, milk, milk shakes and Kool-Aid.

If you don't see your drink or food of choice...just ask, we will do our best to stock it for you!

Our aim is to please...come and sit a spell, enjoy the fellowship and come back often!

The only RULE here is NO debating or arguing!

As Christians, we are ALL on common ground...

Morning all! Sue had dropped me a line and asked me to open a new Coffee House and to keep an eye on the place for her while she's away. I tried to do it in the middle of Dan's multiple postings! LOL

How is everyone this cold morning?

Good morning Diane, again! [IMG] I noticed that you closed the CGCH #29 on page 19. With you kind permission, I rounded it up to 20 and locked it up again. But now we have the dilema of folks not being able to answer the charges against them.... I am talking about the double & tripple posters. As I said, I will check the BB Posting Rules and see if there is something in there to stop this... for if there is none, then we ought to have a rule against them - don't you think? [IMG]

Thanks for the good job you are doing Diane, and for standing in the gap! [IMG]

I hope Sue took a cell phone with her. It is great comfort when traveling alone.

Yesterday, when I picked up Muffin from the groomers, I discovered I had left my cell phone at home. I could just imagine having car trouble and having to walk in the cold to a phone to get help. But, as usual, it was a needless worry, I made it home just fine.

Ok, Barnabas...what is that old saying? If it is fun, it is probably against the rules! If it isn't a saying, I just made it up. :D

I am too impatient to wait the 30 seconds to double post anyway. [IMG]

But it is a mystery when sometimes, I do double post and did not intend to do so.

Hope everyone has a great day!

By the way, am I the only one who sees the FortuneCity Logo on the first post.

Do I need to sign up for something with them to see the Logo? If I go to their site and return, I can see it while logged on. Then when I log out from the BB and return, the Logo is there again. Does that make sense? I'm not sure I do.

This is a quote from the site:

May be this is the reason, but I dont' understand it:

    I don't think I am a Web Tv person.

So, Betty, what you are saying about double or tripple posting is, that...

Then it is official! Now we only have to come up with the right punishment.... ;) [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

John D. Rockefeller said that he never broke any laws - but that they sure passed a lot of laws to stop him from doing what he was doing!

I think I can relate to that!

Dan - drunk on double posting!

    Brother Barnabas,

I just went back and read your multiple posts (and remember - that a multilple post is a multiple post - to matter what the excuse is) - and I never liked the new math - til you explained how many posts I would have - if I were to use it!

Dan - now a new math lover!

Definition of an excuse - the skin of a reason stuffed with lies!

    Morning again all!

Betty, I see pictures... no fortune city logo but 2 of my signatures now open up to their logo when I try to use it. I think it must be your firewall. I don't have one and am on very slow dial up with Bellsouth. I was connected at only 26.6 this morning for the longest time!

Thanks Barnabas. Sue was concerned that it would go over and asked me to watch the board and to leave a copy for her to skim when she returns.

Sue's hubby took off the days to drive with her so she is not alone! She does have a cell phone too, tho.

Boy Howdy this fine sunshiney [sp?] morn. As the rules for pix is intelligent - even though I don't like it, it is necessary - so should be about this double posting.

Getting ludicrous and I will gladly team up with the jack-booted thug from Manhattan to establish a new policy.

I sometimes have two posts in a row - first, because my feeble brain and fingers don't alway catch everything the first time; second, because I am on so late at night that no one answers the first post!

I'm all for fun, but had to read 4 pages of the old coffee shop this morning just to find out nothing was happening and a new thread started. That seems to be a little frivilous.

    End of sermon.

Dr. Bob, I've discovered a 'glitch' and am not quite sure how to explain it. If I'm posting and hit enter twice very quickly as tho to drop down and sign my name, the message will post without me clicking on Add Reply but it DOUBLE posts! It happened on Private Members forum earlier today again. If it happens on one of my forums, I just delete the extra but find it odd...

The thing is.... I never know when it's going to happen! I cannot MAKE it happen!

Anyone know what I might be doing? I do have longer fingernails and might be hitting something else at the same time!

Isn't double-posting just for correction of errors, especially when the edit feature is out of time?

Read twice, check spelling, click enter.then post....there, it is done!

    Cheers,

    Jum...Jim

Morning Jim, For the first few months of our marriage, I called hubby Gee-Yum. He finally told me 'my name is JIM'. LOL Didn't like the southern version. I once told someone my name is Diane but they thought I said I was dyin'.... SO now I saw my name northern style. LOL

Diane, who still has a LITTLE accent. ;)

Do I get the sense that there are some folks who are getting irritated with me and my double-posting fun!

WOW Diane! You took up a whole page with one sentence. Fifteen post to a page. Not bad. But did your post count go up at the same time.... I wonder. By the way, it looks like an email stationery - with your picture on the left... [IMG]

P.S. Are you erasing them as we speak? For I see that the count is going down and I am back on page two.

Hi Barnabas, I see that my fingernail will rest on tab and if I hit enter with any pressure on that key, it's submitting the reply even without me hitting add reply and flood protection doesn't work.

I'm deleting them as fast as I can. YIKES! I didn't notice a change in my number tho. Only went up 1.
