Amen! We have about 25 kids here on Thursday afternoon for Kids Klub and about a dozen teens Friday fortnightly. Good relationships with ALL the families and all have heard the gospel.

    Thanks for praying!

Praise Report! A grandmother had spoken to me last week about my helper and how her granddaughter and a few others don't want to come in during Sunday School because of the worker. She had spoken to our Minister of Ed and then asked for prayer during the opening of her Sunday School class. Our Pastor Emeritus's daughter, who is late 50's, got up, found Bro. Jack and volunteered to assist in the class every Sunday. What a blessing! She has 5 grandchildren herself and a true love for kids! I am thrilled! She's going to meet me for visitation this Tuesday night and we'll go see the kids who haven't been attending. This is surely an answer to prayer.

We took pictures and the movie camera of Nick's baptism. 5 were baptized today and we had a young couple join the church and about 7 young men in their 20's-30's at the altar as a group, huddled in prayer. It thrills me to see these young men of God!

What a joy. Told the wife about it before she left for church (my feet are not doing well today, so opted against fighting the snow - can sure see why folks are "snow birds" when they get older) and she was thrilled for you.

I baptized all three of my children while Teresa watched proudly (and humbly). Mom's perspective was different than mine as the pastor; but the overflowing joy was there as it is for you!

Give that boy a cyber-hug from the BB faithful!

I will Dr. Bob, as soon as he stops throwing up! He told us last night and this morning that he felt 'queasy'. We've had a LOT of kids and parents out with stomach viruses~ so I'm really not surprised! It's so funny because he feels fine inbetween his 'bout's' of sickness.

Has anyone heard from C.J. yet? I know she said she'd go by the hospital after church. Praying for your brother C.J.

BTW... while upstairs and waiting for Nick's baptism, the husband/ wife team who are our baptismal committee mentioned they'd been praying for Jim's job. Carl had gotten laid off 2 weeks ago and will get unemployment but they'd bought a new house and will have no where near enough to just pay the mortgage. The mother and son who were being baptised spoke up and the father had been laid off this week. They have 6 kids between them and she is a nurse. She's asked to be allowed to work 60 hours a week until he can find work. Made me wonder just how many men we have out of work.

It was very uplifting, the number of people who stopped me to tell me they're praying, say they had called friends about Jim's job need, etc.

15 -18 years ago the administration wing
of my church building was remodeled.
    Someone put up some signs:
Church Office, Pastor, Minister of Music.
The 4th door said: "Minister of Ed".

Good, Ed needs his own minister ;)

I see that Diane survived Nick's baptism and I survived my grandson's. Right in the middle of the service before the baptism, I realized that this church didn't have baptismal robes. Did grandson have extra clothes? And of course he did.

It was a beautiful service. I had never seen a baptistry like this one. The pastor did not have to get wet. He stood behind it. It actually worked very well. We video taped and took pictures also. Then we went to lunch with family and friends. A lovely day!

While at their church, I visited my granddaughter's room. Beautiful painted wallls with large biblical pictures.

I was impressed with the pastor, the youth leader, and worship leader.

I must go get ready to go to evening services.

Well Nick isn't throwing up anymore. His temp was only 99.8° with the ear thermometer and I think I read that 97-100.4° is normal that way for his age. His throat is a little red and he's complaining of a nasty taste in his mouth but other than that..... Why oh why do I worry MORE with this one than when I had 3 little ones?

I'm guessing we won't be going to swim lessons tomorrow. I sure don't want to pass around any virus. Enough people do that already. About half of my Sunday School kids had coughs today. I had 13 children!

Hope everyone is having a pleasant night. Sleep well Roger and Sheila!

    Good evening!

Great to hear about son's and grandson's baptisms! That is so exciting! And Betty, I know it was great for you to get to see their church!

Diane, I'm sorry Nick has been sick, and I hope he is better tomorrow. Poor little guy... Of course, that will be a great way to never forget his baptism! "I had a stomach virus, but I got baptized anyway!"

Just got in from the hospital...spent the afternoon there with my brother and sil. They will be keeping him for a few days, but all seems stable for the time being. He does have a blood clot in his leg, so they are making him stay in bed with his leg elevated. He's NOT happy about it, but is resigned to it since he really has no choice.

They live in Dallas, so that's where he's in the hospital. It's about a 45 minute drive from here, so I told him I would come back and spend the day with him on Friday if they don't let him out by then! Of course, I think he thinks he will be home by then, but we'll see! I will call him a couple of times a day to make sure he is being good(!), and to keep him cheered up!

Thanks for your prayers for him...and for all of us today. I really appreciate them!

C.J., are they just using blood thinners to dissolve the clot? Will he remain prone to these? I'm sure glad he went when he did and glad he's going to be okay!

Nick ate some cereal for supper. He had some banana earlier and that stayed down. I hope he sleeps well tonight. He's not a good sleeper anyhow. Not like ME! He and Jim should just sleep in the same room. They both wake at night and never sleep late!

Wonder how Dale's cold is? Glad it wasn't the flu!

Diane, they told him when he had the blood clot 3 years ago that he would be prone to these. They are checking his blood every 6 hours. His regular doctor will be back "on duty" tomorrow, so hopefully we'll get some answers then. So far, he's only seen the doctor "on call" for the weekend. That doctor is OK, but his regular doctor should be able to assess his situation a little better.

I was glad to see your S.S. help this morning worked out so well!! God always provides what we need at the exact time we need it, doesn't He?

    Good evening all.

I baptised my three children - while their mother watched. I also baptised their mother - my wife - all many years ago.

The children were baptised in a swimming pool during Bible Club Camp. The Bible Club missionaries were happy to have the rest of the campers be able to witness the event.

I also married or help to marry off our three children with the assistance of each's father-in-law (fil).

Had a good day at church!

Boy Howdy, just finished a bowl of the SALTIEST ham/bean soup I've ever endured. If I hadn't made it myself . . .

Got a packet of dried bean mix for soup. Had a shank ham bone (we'd eaten off it and left the end in the freezer) with a ton of meat left on it, so boiled the bejeebers out of it, took some great chunks of ham off it and diced up the rest, skimmed all the fat, then made soup.

Then, after realizing I was in trouble with saline solution, put in 16 oz of water and 16 oz of chicken broth. STILL too salty . . and now a lot more of it to get rid of!

Suffering for Jesus, I'll eventually eat it all. Bllleecch.

BTW, having been to an awful lot of church dinners, do you think we're in for scalloped potatoes and ham at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb?

I sooner think that we'll have lamb chops!

My son has been begging me to make home made split pea with bacon. I should do it... there's nothing like thick home made soup.

Hey, Jul, I'll send you a jar of REALLY GOOD bean and ham soup if you ask . . [IMG]

I'm turning in. Been a very poor day for me. Without the BB and the 'net, I would have been bored to tears. Appreciate your prayers.

But like it says in 2nd Annie 20:20 "The sun will come out tomorrow . . "
