And yet there is a mysterious serious side of me that you cannot see. I can be serious when I need to be. Seriously. No, really, I'm serious.

    Good morning all:

Hubby is getting up to do the papers since I am still 'down in the back'. It is 32º but winds are 35-40 mph and we got an inch or so of snow last night on top of some freezing rain...

I do believe my back is a little better - we shall see. I sat in the recliner and crocheted all evening with a heating pad behind my back. It seems to have helped. I can't sleep with one because I get too hot.

Going to sit in the recliner most of the day today and tomorrow too! I figure I have two days to sit and then maybe I'll be able to work Monday.

    Cruising,

Sue, I'm sorry to hear your back is still out. Have you tried a really hot shower and some aspirin? Backaches can be the worst!

Yeah, yeah, yeah Gib, you're serious! More serious than Blackbird! ;) ;)

Sue, if you want, I can come over and walk on your back [IMG]

Diane, Blackbird makes me look like a altar boy.

Hey all. We are due for a BLIZZARD!" NYC is preparing...somewhat. I went on a visit last evening and have decided that I am totally unprepared for weather in NYC! I had on what I thought to be adequate clothing but have decided that I need a new coat, some long johns, heavy gloves, and a really thick hat! The wind just passes through all the layers of clothing I had on yesterday! I think I may just go buy a ski suit!

Christian, I felt that way when we first moved to Connecticut but after a year or so, didn't feel the cold so much.

You know, Barnabas and Webmaster, Dan Todd and some others live in New York. You could sure have a big get together! Have you looked at the BB photo album? Barnabas has a picture of his church.

    BE SAFE!

If anyone would like to meet, I would be happy to do so. I do Starbucks from time to time. I love to discuss theology, social work, ministry, politics, and religion. In fact, I miss my discussion group in Dallas. We would sporadically meet and have discussion (over the course of 10 years). I learned more in those ten years (a great deal of it from the church and school I attended, also) than in the previous 30.
Perhaps a real coffee house discussion might be fun.

    By the way, just for the record;
I do not bring people to my flat so we would need to meet for coffee somewhere. I would rather not meet any woman, unaccompanied.
    Thanks.

    Sue,
Our chiropractor always tells us not to use a heating pad. To use an ice pack 10 minutes on 10 minutes off for an hour, 2 or 3 times a day.

    Afternoon all:

Thought I would get out of my recliner long enough to peek in here.

Diane: I have been taking aspirin and hot baths.

Karen: I have come to the conclusion that it is a muscle right above my waist between my spine and my left side. The heating pad helps me get in and out of the recliner. Once I'm up, I can walk for awhile without it hurting.

Gib: I appreciate your kind offer, really I do, but for your sake - I'll pass. You couldn't stand this blizzard-like weather we're having in Illinois right now!

I may stop back in before I go to bed tonight.

    Have a good evening all!

    Hi everyone...
I got to take my mom out shopping this morning. It's not too cold here, just wet. We are very fortunate to not be having all the excessive weather so many other places do.

Have a great day - stay warm and dry!

Howdy, All! I've been "out of commission" for the past few days. My back went out on Thursday and Vivian had to come home from work to help get me out of bed. I had been trying to move around enough to get out for over 3 hours when she called. After taking 4 acetominophen and an hour on the heating pad, I was able to sit up enough to get out of the bed and get into a chair. Vivian had some left over Vioxx, and I took one and within two hours was able to walk some with my cane. Took another one about 5pm, and have used aceto steadily for the last few days, but am now able to hobble. I know her supervisor thought she was joking when she told him I was stuck in the bed and couldn't move. Anyhow, I'm alive.

It's VERY windy here, and there is sleet hitting the back deck. Sounds like it's going to blow the house apart! The temps have fallen almost 20 degrees so far today. Would appreciate your keeping us in your prayers. If the roads ice up and then snow comes, we're going to be stuck for a couple of days.

Missed ya'll while I was out. Glad to be back. [IMG]

Christian, there's a picture in the BB photo album of Webmaster, Barnabas and Pastor_Bob at a McDonalds in NYC! Our daughter and family still live in Connecticut but they can afford to travel much more than we can. One son and family live in Baltimore. The rest are down here. [IMG]

Sue, I turned around in the car once reaching for something and pulled a muscle just above my waist. Boy did that hurt for days! Hope you feel much better soon!

Carolyn, my sister in law and family live in Oregon and I was surprised to find out about your weather patterns. I guess you just assume things. I had heard it rained a lot.

Nick has the brother and sister from on our corner over and they're playing PS2. Such good kids. The girl is 11 and the boy younger. I forgot to ask how old. Get this. The girls birthday is the same day as mine, Nick's and even our part time mail lady's. 3 of us in within 3 houses!

well a good afternoon to you all!
CG, I am honored to be your sis! I always wanted a sister, but my mean ole mama wouldn't give me one. [IMG] Oh, by the way, I am 32.

Today was my sweet 4 year old's birthday party. It was precious. We set up round tables and tableclothes and she put a fresh flower that she had picked on each table. We served hot tea and cookies for the appetizer, then had finger sandwiches (heart shaped, crescent shaped and diagonal), chips, muffaletta (adults), petit f'ors, had a fruit tray and a veggie tray. I had low carb sandwiches and muffins for my dieting friends that came. It was simple, but so sweet. A lady in the church made lots of little dresses for girls to wear (and KEEP). The birthday girl wore a gorgeous bridal gown and veil made by above woman, and my other daughter wore a red taffeta dress with lace around the bottom with a hat and her boots. Other characters that attended were Tigger, a pirate, superman, a spider, a punk rocker, Little Red Riding hood, a ballerina, Sleeping Beauty, a princess, a queen, an indian, and the Three Muskateers. Those kids were so cute sipping their hot tea like big folks.

Spent the day at a women's conference at church while the blizzard raged. It was a blessing!! All about forgiveness - God forgiving us, we forgiving others and most importantly, ourselves. It was nice to fellowship with women from other churches as well as our own. It was also nice to be enjoying such things while the men were outside shoveling and salting and working so hard! We let them have lunch with us - wasn't that sweet of us? LOL

Looks like about a foot of the stuff out there. Don't know how many we'll have at church. Some churches are canceling, putting the announcement on a bottom of screen crawl on the TV.

But they say the football field will be ready! In my way of thinking, if you can go to a football game in this, you can go to church!!

Any snow in the greater Atlanta area?

You wouldn't catch me at a football game if it wasn't snowing! Football is for watching in my nice, soft, comfortable recliner.

It is cold here and the wind thinks it is March. It is howling out there! The snow is completely out of our forcast. It is just going to be cold. The high for tomorrow is just 40 degrees.

All ya'll up north stay warm and stay in!
