I know some Brits who love the flower flavored teas (though they'll never admit it to another Brit!) ;) I like the straight teas, too!

I think Vivian said something about there being a British market here. We've got a lot of them coming in here to live.

Interesting. But still lots of variables. And did you notice how smart the cats were? :D

Dr. Bob, that is interesting. Especially about the cats...LOL Maybe they should have been left with nothing BUT irradiated water! ;)

BTW, one of the great companies that imports from the Far East is "Sunrider". We carry many of their products, as it is by far the best whole-food herbal products we've ever seen. My wife traveled to Hong Kong, Beijing and Tienjin for seminars.

If you are going to drink tea, these start with green tea, then add 24+ condensed herbs spray-dried on the leaves and bagged.

SUNRIDER teas are MUCH more that “just tea”, much more than “colored, flavored water.” Besides being caffeine-, chemical-, coloring-, flavoring-, and Nutrisweet©-free, SUNRIDER teas are actually NOURISHING Food Beverages.

Both Calli and Fortune Delight have a similar base. The main ingredient is VERY CONCENTRATED Green Tea. Both are highly anti-oxidant and highly anti-carcinogenic (carcinogens are cancer causing chemicals). Both teas supply electrolytes (trace minerals) that are especially needed after a workout. The primary function of both teas is SYSTEM CLEANSING, each with a particular aim:

[IMG]CALLI cleanses and nutrifies the water INSIDE the cells. It is especially helpful to the “filter” organs - kidney, spleen, and liver. (Most people pay more attention to the filters in their car, furnace, air conditioner, or aquarium than they do those in their precious body-machine.) Calli has 15 Whole Food herbs spray-dried onto the Green Tea carrier leaves; these herbs cleanse and nourish these filter organs.

[IMG]FORTUNE DELIGHT cleanses the water OUTSIDE the cells, where the cells put waste created as they perform their functions. Fortune Delight is a stronger CLEANSER than Calli, and is especially excellent at flushing fat out of the system. It removes the “bad fats” coating on the exterior of cells, which allows insulin to “open the door” of the cells for glucose (our main fuel) to enter! This creates ENERGY! (When fat prevents insulin from being effective, it is called HYPER-insulinemia”, the most common cause of diabetes.)

Okay, NOW enjoy a GOOD cuppa herbal tea beverage . .

Not allowed to link any of Sunrider's stuff to our website. THEY want to maintain control of quality (and make sure folks don't make outlandish health claims like you see for so many products)

    www.phr.net = wife's site
www.sunrider.com = these products (which all can be ordered cheaper from my wife, since her business is set up as a "ministry")

But just hit their site, go to order products and they have a page/description on every one. It is amazing. As for the herbal beverages, they are about 70 cents US a bag. Make a quart if you like it strong, half gallon if weak. That is a whole lot cheaper than juice or milk and it is REAL food, not just "tea".

(Sorry for the "pitch" but trying to answer the question)

    I prefer Lipton's tea. I don't like Earl Grey at all. There's some aftertaste I don't like.

I had no idea about microwaving the water. I heat mine that way every morning. I'll certainly go back to boiling it on the stove!

Tony, may I recommend Revere Ware? It's stainless with copper bottoms. I've had mine since 1981 and the handles have lightened in color but the pans still are like new! I bought two full sets and 1 large fry pan back them. I use ketchup or left over spaghetti sauce to shine up the bottoms when they darken.

When I was back there in October I found an electric kettle like we have here. You fill it with cold water and when it boils it turns off so there is no chance of it boiling dry, plus you dont have to use up stove top space. I found it at Aldis.

Hmmm, Roger, I may have to drive that 35 miles to Aldi's to see if I can find one. That would be great for here in the office.

Thanks, Dr. Bob! I've bookmarked the sites and Viv will certainly be looking into the teas!

Diane, I think Revere Ware is what Viv's been looking at! It was a few weeks back, and I can't remember where we were (uh, I can't remember who I am...uh..what am I doing here???) ;) but she made mention of getting them after we get our taxes back. That's probably why I haven't got them finished yet...fear of spending money! LOL
