Awww Sue! It's already broken, what can it hurt? ;) :D

At least make the poor thing a milk shake. I have some Blue Bell Strawberries and Cream ice cream I'll share.

Whoo! It's only noon and I'm already tired and not even a third of the way through all I need to accomplish today. It's only 70 degrees here, but it sure did feel a lot warmer than that while I was out vacuuming the pool. Too bad the water's so cold or I'd of been tempted to jump in.

No deer here, but we have a ton of squirrels stealing the pecans off my trees. Hammer the dog only thinks it's necessary to chase them off if there is a human outside that needs impressing. Otherwise he just lays there and watches them. Crazy, lazy dog!

    What's for lunch?

    Morning all:

It's 62 degrees here, but feels cooler.

I went to the urologists office yesterday, and that stone hasn't moved one iota! But, we did get the best picture of it yesterday from X-rays. I will be in surgery tomorrow between 10am and 12 noon or a little thereafter. This time it will be laser surgery and a stent for a few days.

Sue what a HUGE cabbage! I haven't seen one that big since I worked on a farm in Illinois 25 years ago! [IMG]

Well, ya'll, have a great day.

Be good, Be kind, Be careful.

    Good morning all:

It is 45ºF this morning, heading for a sunny 79ºF this afternoon.

Tony, still praying for you and will 'double up' on the prayers tomorrow morning. Let us know how you are as soon as you can.

Doctor called yesterday, after the radiologist had read Brent's x-rays. They're still not sure, but treating it as a break. Brent is to wear the cast for 10 days and then we go back to the doctor for removal and more x-rays. Not sure what happens after that, it will depend on the x-rays.

    Surfing,

    That's a lot of cabbage!

    Good morning everyone!

Things are going to be about the same today as they were yesterday. This, that and the other thing that needs to be taken care of. Still not motivated to actually do most of it, but usually once I get going I get more done than I think is possible. Some of it I don't have any choice but do, motivated or not. Oh well.....

Hopefully, Brent just has a bad bruise and the bone is not actually broken. 10 days won't be nearly as bad as 12 weeks.

Tony, I'm still praying for you and Vivian. Praying that this round in the hospital takes care of the problem for good. I wonder if there has been any studies that looked for a link between kidney problems and back problems. My friend's husband had several vertebrae crushed when a load of logs fell on him, several year ago. Now, he gets kidney stones rather frequently. It is very hard for him to distinguish the difference between pain from his back problems and the pain from a kidney stone, until he gets very, very bad off.

Good Morning, everyone! Praying for everyone this morning. So many needs. May the Lord Bless and Comfort each one this day and be with Tony during surgery and his recovery.

    Prayers for T.

Where's MK? Got a hankering for a steamy apple pie. I've got a tree full of apples, a brick of extra sharp cheddar cheese and a half-gallon of vanilla ice cream.

I'll make the pie but you have to pick the apples. They'd better not be wormy! ;) [IMG]

If you have a tree full, I'll have to get out the big pots and pans and make apple sauce, apple butter, apple jam, apple pie, apple crisp....anyone else have recipies to use up Padre's apples?

right now I've go to go peel some sweet potatos I'm going to candy for supper and get the pot roast started. Shawna cabbage reminded me that I have one in the fridge so I'm going cook some of that too. Have to cook early today and just reheat tonight since our Tuesday schedule is hectic and to chopped up to find enough time to cook in the evening. Last Tuesday we ended up eating out, but the budget just won't stand it this week.

You know, MK, I asked the urologist and my PCP that, and they neither one could give me a straight answer. I bet there truly hasn't been a study. Hmmm... I might have to do some research on my own contacting several doctors I know. I'm glad you brought that up, too. It helps me to confirm what I've been thinking.

Thankful and Sue, thank you for the prayers. The doctor himself yesterday said it's going to take a LOT of prayer to make this thing work out right. The only other option if this doesn't work is for him to go in through my back. That would lay me up for a while, and I'm praying it doesn't come to that. So is he.

MK, the only thing worse than finding a worm in your apple is finding a half-eaten one.

Apples were plentiful this year, but no very large due to lack of rain. I have 20 apple trees in my front garden and the deer will not go hungry this winter. We picked a few bushels for the shutins and elderly in our village, but still loads left.

    Cheers.

I used to put up apples every year when we had an apple tree, but that was several years and two homes ago...

Brent reads to me every night to improve his reading skills AND his love of reading. He then makes a book report (written and oral).

After that, I will be ready for bed.

    Pleasant dreams all!

Sue, my mother had a couple of nice apple trees that she planted a few years back.

But her neighbor's goats ate them!!

I was over at her house one day when she was trying to "shoo" them back across the woods to their own house.

    She was very mad!!

She went outside and started making "goat" noises!! [IMG] [IMG]

She thought it would scare them, but I guess that they thought that she was their mama and they made a mad dash towards her like she was the Goat Queen!

They chased her all over her backyard and all I could do was to stand at her back door and laugh myself silly and hold the door open as she ran inside, breathless and shocked!

When I was able to breath again, I called the neighbor and told him to come and get his goats.

    The apple trees died

    Peace-

    ROTFL!!!!

Some daughter you are, standing safe and laughing whilt your mama was being attacked by wild goats! At least you held the door open! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

We've just gotten in from karate and I'm worn out. It's a good thing I cooked supper early tonight or folks would be eating cereal for supper! I'm headed for bed just as soon as I print out and gather up a few things I have to have for a meeting in the morning.

Tony, I'm praying for things to go well for you in the morning.

I won't be in till late in the morning as the meeting is at 8 and then I have to go to the pharmacy. T's doc was not at all happy with the state of his sugar and cholesterol and gave him a whole handful of perscriptions I need to get filled.

    See ya then....

    Good afternoon all:

I just now realized that I hadn't checked in today.

Praying for Tony as he has his procedure today.

We were busy with school this morning, then had to take Brent to get a haircut, then off to Aldis for a few groceries, and the Salvation Army store to look for sweats for Brent this winter. All in all it's been a busy day so far.

Hope everyone is enjoying this 'Spring' day!

    Howdy everyone!

Sue, I hate days that are constant errands. I don't seem to get anything done if I have a bunch of errands to do. Did you have any luck finding Brent's sweats?

I had a few stops myself today. Had a meeting this morning then had to see to T's medicine. The doc had called and told me to come pick up another prescription for him. He had yelled at T during the office visit for letting his sugar and cholestoral get out of hand. Evidently that wasn't good enough so I got a lecture today myself! The med count is up to 7 different prescriptions now, and I've been told to sit on him and make him take every one just as it is prescribed. :( Poor T is in the midst of a vicious cycle. If we eat low carbs then his cholesterol goes up. If we eat low fat, then his sugar runs up. I haven't found a good balance between the two yet. It doesn't help that his job is so stressful that he can't get an uninterupted lunchhour unless he goes out to eat. Eating out usually means high fat/high cholesterol or high carbs or both!

The kids got their report cards today and it was nice to find out that they all have pretty good grades. [IMG] Considering everything that has happened healthwise this nine weeks, they've done wonderfully. Son is having a bit of problem with reading and spelling, because not only does he hate both, when he has a migraine it is impossible for him to concentrate enough to read and memorize. But his grades were still not bad, high C's in both. I'm pretty satified considering he has only had about 5 pain free days this entire grading period.

I wonder how Tony is doing this evening?

It's not spring here, it's summer! It was in the 80's today. They say though that a cold front is coming through this weekend that will dump a bunch of rain on us and keep the high's in the 60's range. Yuck, cool and rainy! Just what we need to give all the kids a cold. I have to remember to move my pineapple plant in off the front porch. Not sure such cool temps are good for it.

I take it Aldi's is a grocery store?
