    Morning all:

It's been cool here, but warmer than the previous nights had been. We had been in the 20's and teens, but we've been in the upper 30's and lower 40's the last two nights. It's been better.

Viv only works two days this week, and this is the week she get's off at 3pm instead of 3:15pm. I'm glad.

Mom is supposed to be leaving for her trip down tomorrow for Thanksgiving. It will be good to see her and have her visit for a while. She's really only done that once since Dad died.

Ya'll have a good day. Be good, be kind, be careful.

    Good morning all:

Tony! I'm glad you stopped by! We miss you!

I'm glad your mom is coming for Thanksgiving. It will be just the three of us this year, but that means I can take a nap after I've stuffed myself with turkey...

It is somewhat warmer here too. It is 37F right now, heading for a high of 49F. It is supposed to be in the forties Thanksgiving. That will be pleasant. Maybe Dale can put the Christmas lights on the eaves since he has a four-day week end.

    Making fresh coffee,

I should try to log on to the BB on the weekend more. I miss so much when I don't.

I just read the posts about Muffin. I too am hoping to hear more about him. From the stories he seems to be such a smart little guy! I pray his "mom" is holding up. I completely agree that our pets are family. Especially dogs and cats that interact with us.

I know. My cats are my best friends. I can tell them anything and they don't talk back.

Good afternoon, everyone! I slept in this morning. My day at church yesterday was exhausting for me. I didn't realize that I had not checked in here. Been busy with Monday chores and the phone.

I called the vet this morning and Muffin may get to come home on Wednesday if he continues to improve. PTL! The vet took him some brisket to eat on Saturday and Muffin ate every bite. Muffin may want to stay if he is treated so special.

I was planning to go see him today, but we were afraid that Muffin might get upset when I don't take him home. So far so good and I'm so grateful to all of you for prayers for us and our little dog.

I even find myself talking to him and he isn't even here. During the day, he follows my every step. Whereever I am, he is. He has a bed under the computer desk. He has a crate in the sun room/art room. A special chair in the bedroom and of course sits with us on the sofa in the living room.

I know some people are thinking, he is just a dog, but he is more than that to us.

Thank you for supporting us at this time.

    Betty

Oh I'm so glad the news is somewhat good. I really have not been able to stop thinking about him! And NO, it's not just a dog. Our pets are members of the family!!!

    Thanks, everyone.

I have pictures of Muffin, but don't have them on the net.

Here is a link of dogs like Muffin.

    Thankful -
Came in a little late on your posts since I was off the Board all week-end, but have read all of them on Muffin now and am so glad he is improving! We have a little Pekingese who is a member of our family and also follows me all around and wants to be with "Mommy". I know exactly how you feel.

My future sis in law has one with the same name as me! [IMG] It reminds me of a little cotton ball with legs.

Doesn't that crack you up when your pet acts snooty? My little cat Hattie is VERY sassy sometimes and my big cat Chip needs to go to kitty behavior boot camp.

Muffin is very protective of his territory. He does not want a cat in his yard. We have to spell cat or his becomes upset. One of my friends IM sounds like a cat and I have to turn it off because he gets so upset.

One time at the Vet's office, the vet wanted to give me a kitten. I said no way. Muffin can't stand kittens. The Vet brought that Kitten in and put it right up to Muffin's nose and Muffin didn't do a thing. It wasn't his territory to protect.

Chips, that is so funny sending a cat to kitty behavior boot camp.

Muffin can't stand for anything to be out of place in the house and keeps me on my toes to be sure things are in their place. However, he scatters his toys wherever and expects me to pick them up.

I love these stories about your pets.

    I like pet stories too.

My fiance has applied with the local Golden Retriever Rescue to adopt. They came and inspected the house and brought a dog to see how Chip would react. He didn't hiss or anything! I think he would totally love a dog! Now my fiance just has to wait for the rescue to call and say they have a dog that meets the specifications he applied for. I already named her Brandi even though he doesn't have her yet. I always wanted a Golden with that name.

I was reading a thread about marriage and divorce on another board. A poster said that more people do research on what pet to buy than they do on which person to marry.

You know she was correct in my case. I did a lot of research on which pet I should get. I took one of those tests about how suited a dog would be for my personality. I read and read.

A Bichon Frise (Muffin) was #2. The reason was that this breed requires a lot of grooming and I probably would not like to spend that much time grooming a dog.

Well, I did learn as much as I could about Ed and I kept looking to see if he had any faults, but when Muffin accepted him unconditionally, I knew he was the man for me. [IMG] [IMG]

And further Ed's mother calls Muffin, her little "grand dog".

Are you fixing Muffin a special Thanksgiving meal? I'm going to get Chip and Hattie a little kitty Turkey dinner. Maybe it'll have the same effect on pets as humans and make them sleepy. I know John would love for them to calm down. I must applaud him though for taking them in before marrying me. They are a rowdy duo. He must really love me.
