    Ron,

Thank you for your answer - some pages ago. I've often said - that if I had the choice - I'd rather be deaf instead of blind. I don't know that that's a choice I get to make. My wife thinks I'm going deaf - and I know that my eyesight keeps getting worse on a regular basis. Maybe it's the diabetes that causing the problem. I do know that if I really become deaf - I'll no longer be able to enjoy that good old "Southern Gospel" and "Gospel Bluegrass" music that means so much to me. If I become blind - I'll have to learn a whole new way of living (by faith not by sight) - that I don't think I would care for.

Years ago - I had a grand old Christian lady in my church - she died at 105 years of age. She was blind and deaf - and the last time I saw her alive in the hospital - I couldn't get her to recognize who I was.

Barnabas - good going on your retirement - the little lady hopes that I do the same someday soon - but I'd rather think that I'd just change jobs - do the same one I'm doing now for the State - with a consulting firm - and get paid for both! But who knows - maybe I'll become a greeter at Wal-Mart!

Sue - How long do you think it will be before we hit Coffee House #100? And will there be a grand celebration?

Jim - keep on keeping on!

And the rest that I haven't mentioned - good to see you all again!

Dan - not here often - but still wordy!

    Good morning all.
It's Mandi's birthday. I went to bed in tears with bad pain in my back, and woke up at the same time she was born.
LOL Am I still traumatized by hours of back labor and an early am birth or WHAT?! [IMG]

The day is also right. I went into labor very early am Wed and had her very early am Thurs.

In the hospital she was so awake and alert that the nurses put stickers in her crib. She picked out a Panda Bear sticker and seemed to focus on that one most of the time. So, I called her "Manda the Panda", and still do. She still loves Pandas, and just did a school report on them. [IMG]

Here is her photo: CLICK for PICTURE

    Howdy ya'll.

Change of greeting cause it is not a good morning. Bitsy came down with Son's virus last night, he was worse yesterday instead of better and I'm expecting Precious to call me any minute to come get her because she's not feeling well. T is in a bad mood cause he's pulling 12 hour days, 3 days a week and 14 hour ones the other 2. And I'm stuck dealing with all of them!

(I'll have some nice cheddar or monteray jack to go with my whine, please. )

Oh well, such is life! It is a cold but sunny day here. Frost was everywhere! It's so cold this morning(about 28 at my house) that the dogs haven't whined to get out of the garage yet.

Crazy dogs! I let them off their chains last night when I knew my neighbor's cats were up. True to form they jumped the fence(electric wire and all) and went for a romp. They were back by the time T came home so I crawled out of bed to tie them back up. They were soaking wet! Dumb dogs had been playing in the creek in the dark, in 40 degree weather. I told them if they came down with pnuemonia they'd just have to suffer.

Ah well, off to see what's happening elsewhere on the board.

    Cindi

    Happy Birthday Mandi! [IMG] [IMG]

Sorry about your back ache da Gina! Hope that a good hot bath will take it away. Have a nice day (free from pains and aches)! [IMG]

Lady Sue, while you weren't watching I took my usual two Dr Peppers. [IMG]

Bro. Dan, retirement is an adventure. You no longer are doing the things you used to do, but then again you are engulfed with a new set of do(s) you never knew existed. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Thanx to everyone. I'm feeling like a new man today. Yesterday, I ate an entire large pizza, by myself, then about two and a half fried chickens, two apples, then a big ole cheeseburger for supper. Brother Curtis is BACK!!!!!! Thanx for the prayers, folks.

Gina, I am praying for you, that God gives you strength. I think any parent would rather they be in medical need, then their children. It is remarkable that your humor seems to be intact. God bless you, Gina.

Back to work today, for my first full day in a week. My boss only acts like a tyrant, she was actually pretty understanding.

Dan Todd, I'll be keeping you in my prayers, as well. I agree with you, Gospel Bluegrass is a true blessing. I love it.

One only retyres to go another ten thousand miles.

I was told that a bad-hair day is when you wake up and your part got wider. You end up combing more hair to the other side.

    Good day!

Happy birthday to Mandi! Many happy returns to the day; God bless!

It remains rather mild here, but not mild enough to rid us of the ice which now covers all the ground and makes walking rather touchy.

Always good to see Brothers Barnabas and Dan. Hope to see you posting more frequently.

Cheers, off to chop some ice for a walkway.

    Jim

Thanks Barnabas! I don't have a space of my own online yet to put pictures, so I couldn't change the size to put it in the post even though I wanted to!

BTW, I get that backache every single year on her birthday. The mind is a powerful thing.

She's off at school. She lost a check her dad sent her and was crying. I felt bad, but had to keep my mommy wits about me and tell her it was her fault for not keeping her room clean and not placing it in a specific spot.
I will be cleaning the room today. ALL of them will probably cry, because I've finally had enough of it. I feel bad because they're doing so good in school and I don't think having a perfect room is all that important, but I've asked them to keep it tolerable and they have one day a week, just one, to clean it and they haven't done it.
I will give her the check when I find it though. The toys and books not put away are goners.

    *sigh*
I really dislike doing that, but I've been too lax with them lately and it's not doing them any good.

If this doesn't work, they'll just all have to have little baby panic attacks because I'll enlist "Gramma" to help out. The last time I threatened to do that, they RAN in and worked like maniacs. [IMG] However, I do prefer they listen to their mommy because it's the right thing to do.

Good afternoon, everyone! Sounds like you have all had a good time, except maybe Cindi.

    Happy Birthday to Mandi!

Gina, our idea of a clean room is definitely not the same as a child's idea of a clean room.

It is very windy here today and 72 degrees (outside)

    Take care.

    Betty

Hey! I ran off so fast from here I didn't see Gina's post.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDI!!!!!

(ps, mom has most likely just tossed your things into a garbage bag and put them in the closet. Don't let her fool you, moms just can't throw away things that are still useful. we might need them again someday!)

Well it's nice to sit down for a minute. I won't be long cause I now have three sick kids and the doc says keep 'em in till Monday. The schools are going to be thrilled with my. I'm sure between Bitsy and Precious, we infected half of both schools. Got us a nice prescription of phenergan so that should help us out here some. Bless their little hearts, all they want to do is sleep.

    Happy Birthday Mandi!!!

Saw the Oncologist this morning . . . My Tumor-marker was 17.6 in Nov. 23.7 in December and 23.6 in Jan.
Will check it again in 6 weeks and do another PET Scan in April.
He gave me a prescription for Belladonna sometimes called Bellaspas for the hot flashes. He said it's an herbal based med, I'll do some research on it later.

Had another fishie fatality yesterday. It's mouth and gills were still 'working', but it was just floating on top but it was only a matter of time . . :(

Y'all have a good evening! [IMG]

I hang my head in shame.
Her check was in MY room.
If I'd have made my bed this morning I'd have known that, because it was on my bed next to my psych book, which I fell asleep reading.

I'll be cleaning my room tonight. [IMG]

They are already cleaning theirs. Felt bad enough to do the "you can do now or I will" thing.

    My my my.
Now I know how the kids feel. I had too much HOMEWORK and didn't clean ANYTHING!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes for her. I'll have her look at them tomorrow. Right now she's too busy wondering if MY mom ever made ME cry over something SHE did. [IMG]

I hope everyone's had a great day, and will have a restful night. [IMG] (I have a feeling my own night and dreams will be sprinkled with NAFTA dust, made from written on toilet paper from Birmingham prison while judges all stand by waiting for me to write a ten page report with properly documented sources on how it makes me feel.)

    Good morning all,

42º degrees right now with rain changing to a rain/snow mix this afternoon.

I think Brent has thanked me 100 times for his microscope. He puts all kinds of things on the slide and I can hear him exclaiming, "Wow, this is awesome!" I guess I did good for his birthday. [IMG]

    Time for coffee,
