My SIL is Catholic and she told me that she no longer has to give something up for Lent because she is over 59...

My dad used to give up watermelon (it wasn't in season). I used to take it more seriously, attending a Catholic school, and I gave up bubble gum one year because it really WAS a sacrifice.

Let me tell you, that was a real struggle for an 11-year-old! The day Lent ended I chewed so many pieces of Double Bubble that I got sick on it.

Shawna came over and helped Brent and I in the family room. We got the drapes pressed and rehung on new rods, the hardwood floor mopped and waxed, the area rug put on the clothesline and beaten, all the pictures and knick knacks wiped down, cobwebs off the ceiling, ceiling fan blades cleaned, the books straightened up, the VHS and DVD's organized, everything hooked back up.

Wow! No wonder I'm tired and I also cooked supper and did dishes...

Signing off for tonight and turning this place over to BH.

    Pleasant dreams all!

We learned today that my Mother-in-Law has Cancer of the Uterus. She goes in for further tests, and Lab work next week to verify the diagnosis.

Goodness FoG! I'll keep her in my prayers.

Well, I made it through the day! PTL!

Now if I can make it through the next two days, I might get to rest on Friday. Not gonna count on it though.

Here's my question of the day: Have you ever been forgotten at the doctor's office?

Carried my MIL over to B'ham for an eye appointment(MIL has macular degneration). Appointment was at 4. A few minutes after 5, we had been the last ones in the waiting for about 20 minutes. No one had been at the checkin desk for about that time either. MIL went looking for someone and sure enough, the nurses (or someone) had forgotten we were out there!

Tells you how my day has gone.......

So, I'm just about to kick back and head to bed with the book I'm currently reading. I have to post an awful request up in the prayer forum first. I need you all to pray about this situation, please.

Friend, Sorry to hear about that, we'll be praying! Mabey they missed something,...or mabey the Lord just wants to show He's still faithful & the verification will show up clean!

This PWF is for everyone...Pray With Friend!!

Letting BH out for the night, we went to G'boro today, nothing definite. But thats all right. I put 156 miles on the old Ranger drivin' around town. I forgot how tiring city driving can make ya! Well guess I'll retire, get up in the morning & see if they're upset at work. Do have to fax our prices to 4 different places, so I guess we have a chance there. One is a 130 unit thats mostly colledge students. That would be a GOOD one!
    Have a good night all!

    Playing with Friends

I didn't realize there were so many ways to use PWF. Maybe this should have been a game

    Perhaps We Flipped!

    HA!
I just had an interesting last two hours. I casually went to a website to see exactly what date in March my scholarship essay was due. Oh joy, it wasn't in March, it was TODAY! By midnight. I sent that puppy screeching in under the slamming door (did I mention I hadn't written it all the way or revised it yet?) just a minute ago, with a side detour for a child with an ear infection.

    Perhaps Won Funds?

    Pretty Whippy Formatting?

    Morning all:

It's 60 outside right now! I can't believe it!!! It was only 67 when we went to bed...

Vivian came home late last night. Found out that a girl she works with went home and will probably have to go on medical leave for a while. Her lungs are all messed up and she isn't able to breath. So, we'll find out today if Vivian is going to be the back-up specialist for her line. That's good, because the other people don't like the older woman who sometimes fills in. She's not exactly what one would call the working type and pushes everything off on everyone else. The girl who's having to take the leave recommended Vivian for the job since Vivian works and most everyone likes her.

Well, hope ya'll have a nice day. [IMG] I'll try to make it to the #94 Coffee House this afternoon. ;)

Good morning?! NOOOO! I'm just now getting to bed! Can't wait to attack that pillow...I was so tired I woke up too much to go to sleep, and now it's hitting again.
    On a twisted note...
I read a paper that a guy wrote in order to give him writing advice on it. He's a gay atheist, and I told him I as a Christian was offended by his use of the term "Christian Idiot", and suggested other ways of using it to get his point across about the people who that poor guy in Wyoming.
He thanked me for the critique, and called me a liberal! But in a nice way.
It was refreshing to see that attitude, and see at least one person take note and understand that not all Christians are murderous hypocrites.

    Good morning all,

Actually the private women's forum is not the PWF. It is the WPF (Women's Private Forum). :D

We have once again run out of room and are relocating.

Please drop by and visit us in "COMMON GROUND COFFEE HOUSE #94".

    Thanks,
