    Good morning!

I'm looking forward to another day of cleaning and struggling with those desk drawers ;) I apparently love a good challenge.

    Coffee's good! I'll be glad to pour you a cup . . .

I got one of the drawers to slide in!

I crawled under the desk and found there was a brace on each side the drawers are catching on. I adjusted as much as I could. Didn't help. Sooooo sand, sand, sand, wax. Drimel, drimel, sand, sand, wax. Sand, sand, sand, sand, wax. Success! Happy dance! Cheer!

Now, I've got one dusty (cough!) room and one drawer to go! (cough!)

still happy dancin' though. I'm so happy, I'm so happy . . .

Glad you're getting the desk drawers to fit, Bitsy. Now I'm curious about what kind of desk this is.

    Sue, hope you're feeling better!:wavey:

Thanks, Gayla. Unfortunately, this is the worst I've felt so far. I'm thinking it may have gone into pneumonia. After being on a ZPac and Prednisone since Monday night, I should be feeling better not worse.

The wheezing in my chest is driving me crazy! I will go back to the doctor tomorrow if I still feel this way.

Well, I couldn't wait until tomorrow. I almost had respitory failure and rushed myself to the ER hardly catching my breath. I was there for 4 hours.

I do not have pneumonia. PTL! My bronchial tubes are just so tight that my lungs are not getting enough oxygen. Guess what I had to bring home. Yep. Oxygen tanks and 50 feet of tubing. The dr. wanted me to stay in the hospital until they could get my oxygen stabalized WITHOUT the oxygen, but she took pity on me when I told her Brent had no one to look after him.

She let me come home with the promise that I wear this oxygen 24/7 and go back to my dr. everyday until I can breath on my own again and pretty much just sit around and do nothing.

I received some injections of three different kinds of medicines in the ER. All three were via IV. Also she socked me with a triple dose of oral Prednisone and ordered me an RX for double the dose I had been taking for the last few days.

COPD Exacerbation is what I think they called it. I was scared very badly. I didn't even stop at the desk and give them my Ins. info. I yelled out my name as I rushed by and said I've got ins. and you have my info in your computer. You can talk to me later. Right now I gotta go breath or die!

Of course, I havnen't been in the hospital since Shawna was born in 1972! When some anxiety started creeping in, the breaths came harder and the harder they came, the more the anxiety creeped in.

All in all, I did pretty well. I treated the nurses, doctor, and the staff with respect and even joked with them once I found out I was going to live. LOL

I did ask the nurse not to ever ask me if I had a living will while I couldn't breath and didn't know what was wrong with me! I had oxygen up my nose and a breathing apparatus in my mouth and she's asking questions...

Anyway, I am home now and closed the windows and turned the A/C on and I'm going to bed. I am so very tired from not sleeping well the last few days and nights. I feel right now as if I could sleep for a week!!!!

    Pleasant dreams all!

Well my word Sue! I wondered at the medications after your heart issue. Did they put you on heart meds? I know with some, like Coreg, the FIRST thing they say is that it's not to be combined with any asthma meds or taken if you're having breathing problems. I'd imagine it would be true with other types, but who knows.
I'm assuming with your heart stuff they gave you something. If so, PLEASE check with your regular doctor about the combination of everything! ER doctors don't always catch everything or double check to make sure nothing interacts with or exacerbates other...stuff.

I just finished all my major work for school. I think. Got the formatting done for my writing class paper, got the play written. I have to rewrite a few things, but as far as super technical stuff? DONE! Which is good. I don't like technical writing! It's like being shoved in a box and only having one way out. Three cheers for creative writing! Three boos for having to get up in the morning and go turn it in. LOL

Have a good night, or a good day, whatever it is. :wavey:

    Good morning all,

Other than getting wound up in the oxygen cord several times, I had the best night's sleep I've had all week! PTL!

Gina, I'm not on any heart meds. I will see the doctor today. I was given a choice last night. Either go to the hospital until my oxygen (Pulse Ox) levels out -it is supposed to be between 90/95 - mine kept falling to 87 every time I exerted at all. OR I could come home, glue my posterior to the recliner, stay on oxygen and go see my doctor everyday until the POX number levels out. I opted for the second one since the recliner had become a permanent part of my backside this last week anyway...

I guess I kind of scared everyone because I hadn't been to the hospital for myself since 1972. Everyone knew if Grandma was going to the hospital - they better start praying! lol

I didn't feel like I had time to wait for anyone. I drove myself up there and I'm glad I did, I'm not sure I'd have made it if I had waited for someone. My oxygen level was WAY low when I got there and I could hardly get any breath at all.

Enough of that. I'm going to be fine. They tripled my dosage of Prednisone and added some other meds to my Nebulizer besides Albuterol meds. I use that four times a day whether I need it or not (and right now I need it).

I think the Prednisone is making me weepy! I will just be sitting here and the first thing I know, tears are running down my cheeks. It happened constantly at the hospital too and that just is NOT me!

I guess I'll try to put my contacts in because between my glasses and my oxygen tubes, it's hard to either wipe my eyes OR blow my nose. There's no more room on my face!!!

Y'all have a good day and I may check in later this afternoon after I see the doc since I will be up out of my chair anyway.

Blessings (and please keep me in prayer)

Why does that far left drawer trailoff 1/8th inch? Could that be a MANufacturing default?

Nice work! A desk to be loved by all.

    Cheers,

    Jim

That is a BEAUTIFUL desk! I'm horrible at putting stuff together, so I'm more than slightly impressed! You're da BOMB!

Ok, I heard someone say that. I hope it just means you're really cool.

I'm getting ready to make rice-a-roni. We haven't had it in forever! However, in light of my recent health woes, I figured I'd quit with all this brown rice, low cholesterol junk and go to dense fats and chemical laden foods instead.

I get to type all day. I have an instructor that figured me out...we have to write essays and improve on them, so I will purposely make mistakes and then just fix them and it looks all better. Well, he knows what I can do and now he expects it, so now I have five essays to rewrite for REAL. LOL I'll be turning them in Monday.

For a different writing class, I was just told today that I have to give a speech and present my work from the quarter. I didn't know that was gonna happen. EW I can do it, but I'd figured that since I did all my work, I was DONE! And I'm not. And I don't like that. I'm beginning to have a persecution complex. They're all after me. Only one more week though, and they have to quit harassing me.
    YAY!

I'm just glad I know the Lord or I wouldn't have looked foward to it at all, course proably wouldn't have made it this long without His Love & Staying Hand anyway!!
Well, gotta go mow some grass so I can go fishin' in the morning!!!Just wish my Honey could go with me but she has to work. Oh well...I'll tuff it thru somehow!!

    Good morning all,

Another restless night. I just can't get used to being tangled up in 50 feet of tube!!!

Brent has a fishing derby, sponsored by D.A.R.E., this morning, but it is supposed to rain. I kind of hope it starts soon because I'm not supposed to leave the house until Monday and I would have to take him this morning, then go back and pick him up 3 hours later. It's about a 20 minute drive each way, but jumps up to more time since I have to switch to the portable oxygen tank, get it in and out of the car, etc.

Doctor said yesterday I was to stay in the recliner or at least stay inside and 'down' until he saw me Monday morning. When he took the oxygen off yesterday, my 'count' did pretty well - as long as I wasn't moving. If I moved, then it dropped too low again.

Today is my last day for 120 mg of Prednisone, I forget what it drops down to tomorrow, but I'm glad for any respite from it. It does weird things to my mind....

    HAGD!

Morning (a late morning, but looks like I'm not alone!)

Hey Sue, now I know where some of those famous last words came from!

I was put on predisone for 21 days about 10 years ago because someone was burning poison oak while I was outside and I'd breathed it in. Before that I'd only been on it a week or less. I'll never forget that 21 days. I thought I was going wacko -- literally. sleeping about 10 minutes a pop. *shiver*

    Yes, Bitsy!

I am so tired and so sleepy, but 10 minutes of sleep at a time is about all I get. I feel like my eyes are propped open with toothpicks and it is making me cry all the time.

It has definitely thrown me into a 'funk'. Those are only two of the wonderful side effects!!! I'm still on it for 5 more days because of the large dosage, but I had already been on it (at a lower dosage) for 5 days.

I'm praying this week will see the end of IT and not of Me!!! :praying:

I'm glad someone on here knows what I'm going through. I didn't want y'all to think I was wackier than I am normally for no reason... :tongue3:

I'm also on oxygen 24/7 and taking a 'double strength' breathing treatment every four hours.

    I've about had it.......... :tear:
