    Hello Gayla,

Valdosta Georgia, huh, I was down in Georgia week before last, they were in a drought so I assume you are too, I was up in North Georgia, Canton & Jasper. Looks like you are headed to another state with much needed rain. To bad Padredurand and the other New Yorkers couldn't send youall some rain in Georgia and to the midwest.

I hope they dry out this weekend. Too much rain can be miserable and then again the drought youall are going through is no fun either, the grass was pretty much dead in N. Georgia.

Maybe I am slow, but I'm still trying to figure out who BH is.

I pray everything goes o.k. with you I Am Blessed 16.

Oh, I had to get off that number 13 post, no not a bit superstitious.

    Welcome Mr. Hart!

You sound like the story telling type! I absolutely love hearing stories. I've tried to make Barnabas and Dr. Bob tell us stories before but neither are around much anymore so you'll have to be my new "victim".

So, no pressure, but if you'd like to, feel free to pick one of the Christmas parties you went to and tell us all about it!

Hey Mr. Hart! Welcome! I'm with Gina, I love stories.

(hey is southern for hello in case you didn't know)

Bear, back up a page or two and look for a post by preacher. That squirrel he uses for his avatar is BH in all her squirelly glory!

Evening everyone! I'm just going to have to make ya'll all wish you were me tonight. We're having Sonic for supper! I can't wait for my watermelon creme slush! :)

Jim, how'd you do keepin' that couch from levitating today? My book is halfway out of it's misery! And I still managed to clean out bookcases, entertainment center and piano in the livingroom and vaccuumed up the cobwebs. Honestly, I think I could vaccuum cobwebs every single week in this house.

    btw, I want your skunks!

Off to see what up elsewhere!

    Hey guys!

Hello Mr. Hart! Welcome to the coffee house. We are always ready to put our feet up and listen to tales.

Tomorrow, I've got to clean. I got some of those little moppy things to go on the swifter to see how they work. Not that my kitchen floor needs mopping with the refrideration clean mini-flood I gave it yesterday! Ron and I went out and bought lampshades tonight to make three older lamps blend. Amazing what new lampshades will do for a room. It's kindof strange having two guest rooms now . . .

    Sounds like you need guests!

Hmmm, I wonder if we can find some volunteers? :D

Y'all come on over. Joe and Blythe and Blythe's mama are coming this weekend, but we've also got the den with a futon and we've got two extra couches and several cots. We can have a BB slumber party.

Well hey! Let's set the date for the 4th, and have ourselves a Coffee House celebration while we is at it.

I'll bring some ribs and steaks. You do have a grill right, cause I can't cook otherwise. I'll make up some Davey Crockets too.

You think your son's new folks can stand all us? :D

    Oh, honey! I know they'll love y'all!

But, what in the world is a Davey Crocket? (do we get to skin something???)

LOL! Yep, you get to skin something....

Potatos! Davey Crockets are foil packets filled with potatos, carrots, onions and garlic, seasoned with salt, pepper and butter. Stick those packets on the grill for 10-15 minutes a side and MmmmMmmm!

I don't like tater salad, so this is a good substitute. Plus, it's simple enough that even I can cook 'em. And if I don't leave them on the grill long enough a few minutes in the microwave (minus the foil) will take care of the problem. :D

Thank you, Bear. Six more days to wait. <sigh>

Welcome to the CGCH, Mr. Hart!

    Good evening everyone else.

I am waiting for Brent to get home from church. This week is "Teen Youth Week". He is having so much fun (along with the preaching).

I'm always glad when he gets home so I can go to bed.

    Pleasant dreams all!

But...wouldn't the foil add spark to the meal?

I expected a Davy Crocket to be something like bear meat or something. Didn't he kill "him a bear when he was only three?"

    Cheers,

    Jim

I always heard he grinned a bear to death.
And welcome, & forgive me , was it Mr. hart? If I go back to look I loose what I've already typed & I'm too lazy to do it again.
Bear...actually the avatar isn't BH, but she is an eastern grey squirrel. She's my pride & joy...next to my wittle wife of course. I raised her from a baby, & she got partially parylized in her hips so I couldn't release her, so she adopted me. She is one of the finest of Gods' critters I've had the privilige of knowin'!! And I've known a lot of'em down thru the years.
We have her here on the CCH as nitetime security...part of the on-going twilight-zone atmosphere that makes it so homie around here. If you come in after 10pm just remember not to sit in the rocker over in the corner, the one by the pot-belly stove. AND please watch yur step, never know when she'll pop out!!

Ain't appliances funny like that? Kinda like when you have to turn the oven on for it to bake food.
And don't feel bad. I never had a newer style oven until recently, and I still turn everything on it off in order to change the temp because I haven't figured out how to do it. (even took me a while to figure out how to turn it on in the first place...maybe the good Lord meant for me to only have outdated styles of appliances?!)

    Good morning all,

I think we're getting some of the East Coast rain. We're scheduled for rain every day for the next five days.

The sidewalk out front was poured yesterday and the rain stayed away until it set up so I'm happy. The walk is beautiful and so even! They did a great job and I'm very happy I can now walk in front of my house and push my oxygen tank without getting tripped up by crooked bricks!

In fact, I'm going to be the first one to walk on it cause I'm going out right now and check it out! I am also going to move my car from the back of the house to the front. Oh, the simple joy of having things fixed right!!!

Going for a short walk and then time for coffee!

    P.S.
Preacher, don't blame BH for gaining a little weight. The black walnuts are falling from the trees like rain so I brought a box in for her this morning (before my squirrels got to them all). Don't forget to take them home...

    Good morning!

Taking a break from cleaning and straightening to check in :D

Gayla -- I've had that same cotten-pickin problem, except mine is usually more alonge the lines that the washer won't finish if you don't close the lid!

MK, I've made lots of Davey Crockets -- we just always called them veggies in a foil pouch though (not nearly as creative!). What book are you reading? I'm almost finished with And the Shofar Blew by Francine Rivers. It's been wonderful. I tried desperately to finish it last night, but after I dropped the book a couple of times, I figured I needed to go to bed.

Gina, I found a little program off the MSOffice updates that puts a copyright into your original works. It also has some coding for online pages. I haven't tried it yet but thought of you when I saw it.
    http://creativecommons.org/
Scroll down the page and there is an add-in for MSWord OR go use the text button on the left side menu and it will write the coding for a web page.

I was cleaning out a closet yesterday. (Yes Girls, I do help my Wife with the housework - Last night she mopped the floor with me!)
I ran across some old textbooks from the accounting classes I had to take. Funny, the only thing I can remember from accounting is that: 38-24-36 and 24-38-36 don't equal the same figure!

    Good Mo--Afternoon Everyone!

T is hogging my computer so I'm having to use Cassie's. This one occasionally drops letters, so if things aren't spelled just right it's cause I didn't notice.

Bitsy, I wasn't reading anything so uplifting, although I have your book on my list. I was reading a Catherine Coulter murder mystery. I wasn't real happy with it. Usually her books are a good read, but this one didn't flow real well, I didn't appreciate the story line, and the premise was flawed. Protestants don't believe in the stigmata. Anyway, it is out of it's misery and soon to be out of my house. If I kept every book that came through my front door there would be no space for people. So I'm pretty ruthless and if I don't really like a book it doesn't get kept.

What I need to do is make a trip to B'ham to the library. They have several that are on my list and then I don't have to feel guilty about "wasting" money on book only I will read.

Gonna do the monthly supply run. I'm down to my last scoop of laundry detergent, but I have about ten loads to wash. Not sure how I let it back up that much, but it's getting washed and put away this weekend.

No bear meat, bear's no longer live in AL and if they did we probably wouldn't be able to hunt them. If you want meat in your packet it'll have to be chicken or beef.

Ya'll have a good day and I'll see ya this evening!

That's neat MC! Thanks, I've got it in my favorites and will try it out soon. :wavey:

MK, they've all but closed down our library. It's closed four days a week, when it is open it's only for 3 hours, and they removed internet service.

    How scary is THAT?!
