Jim: I thought the same thing about "piddling".

I knew which meaning she was referring to, but I still got a chuckle out of it. :tongue3:

Sorry about your banana bread. I think I would have been a little upset because I LOVE banana bread. Did you use Splenda in it to make it diet?

I am using Splenda more and more in my baking, cooking, tea, coffee, etc. It doesn't affect the taste and it is helping me to lose weight - healthier too...

    Piddled on the way

I wondered when Bitsy used that word too, Jim. Haven't heard it since my Grandmother used it. Grandma's meant going to the Loo too.
No, Bitsy isn't my Grandmother either ( ooooo- I just felt a blast of "cold air" or was it "cold glare" from Winston-Salem?)
I just wanted to quickly head off any "missle tests" from the MC Director. :flower: Diplomacy does work sometimes :flower:

Splenda is the thing when it comes to cooking. It is made from actual sugar, and that is why it is unaffected by cooking.

I am glad the little girl got her banana cake. That was the important thing. I can always bake more. It is a long story, but this youngster is a bit deprived by times...the old marital breakup thingy. What is the old saying, You tell me about your faith, and I will show you my faith by my works.....I think we need to demonstrate more than we talk. I am sure, Sue, you do that also.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    I try to, Jim.

Hey all, just thought I would drop by and share something I thought was pretty cool.

I had to visit my doctor this morning to talk about shots, etc for our church mission trip. My doctor is a sincere believer and wanted to know all about our trip and even asked me if he could put our name on his family's prayer calendar.

It is pretty cool to have a doctor that is a believer and even offers to pray for you and your church.

    Hello Folks,
Summer has returned to Denton, its sweltering outside. Took my metal & turned it in, made enough to pay my insurance & the water bill, so my sweetie was pleased.
Now all I gotta do is cut up the compressors, clean up what tin is left & go hunt for MORE!
As for piddling, that's how I get most things done around here! No need to get in a hurry, ya get done with this...there's always that to do!!

You don't know how much I envy you Bitsy.
I would give everything to be able to take my parents to the doctor again.:tear:

You are right Rob. I'm so glad my mom is finally here so that I can take her to the doctor. I begged her for 10 years to move out here and she waited until she'd had pneumonia and nearly died. She wouldn't tell anyone how sick she was and lived out in the country. People called to check on her but didn't stop by on a regular basis. Ron, bless his heart, treats her like his own. He was the child of very old parents and they both died within the first two years of our marriage. *sigh*

Pastor! That's exciting about your Doctor! Now tell us about your mission trip!

Is piddling (as in just playing around at stuff) a southern term? I've never heard it associated with the loo . . .

Well, Miss McD, to put your mind at ease, "piddling" is not just a Southern word. It is used in England and Canada in both ways; urinating and leisurely doing something, or messing about. The first, thought, however, is going to the loo...............sorry, but I had to smile when I saw it...First, I said, "Shucks, we do that on all our trips. What's so unusual about going to the loo?"....

Getting wife past a service station or layby is like getting a male dog past a fire hydrant.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Good morning all,

Well, the city didn't make it out here to sow the grass seed and now we've got rain forecast for the rest of the week. It is raining now and the loose dirt has slipped down onto the new sidewalk making a mudslide. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr. I appreciate the fact they are doing the work free, but it's been over two months since they started this 'project'. It would be nice to have a 'barricade free' front lawn and also to be able to park my car out there instead of out back, waaaay down by the alley...

The rain has cooled things down a bit. The high today is only going to be 80º. It starts getting hot again tomorrow - even with the rain.

    Time for coffee,
    §ue

    Hey gang!

Pastor, that sounds like a hard work trip -- one that will honor and glorify God. I'll be praying for you!

Yesterday, I figured since I got all the closets cleaned out, I needed to organize them, so I've been shifting. Today, I'll finish that. AND I got six daylilies to plant in a bare spot in the back yard.

This activity is not getting my number 1 summer project done though -- scanning pictures. Problem is that I keep finding more when I'm in the closets. This has got me to thinking though that a scrapbook of Joe from birth to college might be a fun thing to make for Blythe. I got a couple of shadow boxes of the wedding made. One for my sis since she didn't get to come and one for my mom. We found some really neat boxey frames at Bombay that I was able to convert. They were only $12. Much better price than a shadow box from Michaels!

    Y'all have a great day.

    Good Morning Everyone!

Well, it would have been a good morning if I hadn't have had to get up!

Oh well, I'm up now so I'll have to deal with it. I see Bitsy made it up before me. What did you do, forget it was summer? You are supposed to be resting before school starts again.(starts for us in just one month) Sleep in some girl so I can have a reason to complain! :D

T and I are both in lovely moods this morning. :( Have I ever told ya'll that we are a matched pair? Unfortunately this means my kids have to deal with both of us being cross.

The bathroom is getting back on track. I got the majority of the glue off one of the rooms, the other one won't take nearly as long. Hopefully by tonight we'll be ready to fix holes and skinned places and tomorrow I'll get started on stripping the trim. We decided that while we were getting rid of old stuff, we'd get rid of thick layers of paint as well. I hope I know what I'm getting into.

I'm off to see what going on around the BB this morning and then I'm getting to work.

    See ya'll!

Thats all right, I've gotten in the habit of stayin' up late, & of course then sleeping late. Won't last much longer though. Waiting for Jerry to call so I can fax him some papers.
Agee brought some kinda flowers home the other day that she wants a hole dug for. I said "ya want me to bury'em then?" She wasn't laughing. Gets way too serious bout dumb flowers. Course she was proud of me the other day for realizin' there were some black-eyed susies growing on the far end of the house & not weed-eatin' them down!!
Well gotta go feed the livestock, cept BH. She's still sleepin'! Check in later!

    I'm Back

    Hello folks,
We made it back to Tiny-Town, GA from the big Okie City about 12:30 this morning. Had a good visit, it just wasn't long enough.

Time to go back and catch up on the happenings in the CGCH.

Probably will go find #98, too.

I helped my wife put up drapes in the family room last night and she is one happy woman! She originally was talking about having it professionally done, but decided to decorate it herself and she did a pretty nice job.

Saved me lots of money too!
