When you go to church, how many and what are the Bible(s) that you bring with you?

For me, I use only one, the King James Bible, just like my pastor uses. The great thing is, when he reads from it, I can read along word for word with him. It makes things alot easier. :D

    Your thoughts.

    God bless,
    RR

I use/bring the NIV. The members that have multiple versions bring their NIV with them, because that is what I'm using.

I use the Thompson Chain Reference (KJV) in the pulpit. I use the Life Application Bible (KJV) for my daily Bible reading and personal study time.

I bring my NKJV, it is the one I teach and preach from. The pew Bibles are NKJV. We also put the Scripture on the screen behind me through power point and it is the NKJV. Several of our people bring their own copies of the NKJV as well as many who bring their KJV, they seemed to have no problem following along.

NIV, because the Sunday School material uses it, including the puzzles my students work on.

NIV or read from KJV pew Bible. Have no problem following along either way.

Does he make a little "Bing!" noise when you're supposed to turn the page, too?

ESV, but I'll occasionally find myself needing to preach from the NKJV if the audience warrants. Usually though, they need the hearty meat of the ESV [IMG]

I would take the NASB with the ISV: NT and will go with the NASB and ISV when the ISV completes their OT.

    (parents make me take KJV.)

I try to take something different than the pastor. I like encountering interesting differences between what is read by him and what I see in another version, and then I make a note of it so I can study it out later that afternoon. It's a great way to really dig into God's word and learn something new! [IMG]

I generally bring the NKJV, as the pastor USUALLY preaches from the KJV...but if he's gonna quote a lotta Scripture, he uses the NKJV so he doesn't hafta take a lotta time "interpreting" the archaic KJV English.

We bring our NIV's to church, as that is what our pastor preaches from. I have a KJV that goes with us, too. Most of our church uses the NIV or the HCSB.

I bring my wide-margin, black bonded leather cover KJV. But most of the time I paste the Bible text from Quick Verse into my sermon notes, so I only read the initial text actually

I carry my NKJV MacArthur's Study Bible. It is the same bible that I read, study, and preach from (when I have the opportunity).

Our Pastor uses the NIV and the pew bibles are also NIV. So there is no reason to bring my NIV.
I used bring my NASB, But this year I have been bringing my HCSB for morning worship because the SS literature uses it, and my ESV in the evening for DT and evening worship. To Wed. prayer meeting I bring a Gideon pocket Testament with Psalms it's NKJV or a Gideon pocket Testament with Psalms & Proverbs that is KJV. I keep both of them in the glove box of my Pick-Up many times I go to church on Wednesdays straight from work.

    My pastor is 64-years-old.
He must have 1/3 of the KJV Bible memorized.
He ususlly uses a nKJV and mentions when
the KJV is different "The KJV says ... "
The bibles in the pew that someone gave
the curch are NIV. I take
a HSCB = Holman Christian Standard Bible.
