It's starting. Oh, well, America voted for Democrats and this is what America wanted. That is going to be my new saying. Four more years? Wondering how many millions of jobs will be lost by then and how long the soup lines will be.....

Thank Obama. Thank Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. Above all, thank those who voted Democrat or didn't vote at all.

"Elections have consequences and I won," Barack Obama bragged after 2008.

I am almost laughing at how stupid the electorate is. I wonder whether laughing is inappropriate. But I just can't find it in me to cry anymore.

The majority of companies on that list are medical device manufacturers that are going to get socked with the new taxes on medical devices. Many of these companies decided to lay people off before the election, meaning they would have done so no matter who was elected. Still, the presumption must be that had Romney been elected this would have been one of the first parts of ObamaCare that the Republicans would have attempted to repeal.

And yes, I agree with you that a good portion of the electorate are stupid and gullible.

I just had the liberals screaming for boycotts of places like Appleby's and Papa John's because of this. Apparently the guy who owns Papa John's has a huge estate (like disgustingly huge) and so he shouldn't pass on 11 cents per pizza increase to cover the extra costs.

    Socialism at it's best.

There is no longer a reason to employ full time production workers in the US. Production jobs that can't be automated will be sent off shore.

The computer revolution has made most production job descriptions interchangeable because the machine does the thinking and has the skill. The humans mostly load the machine and remove the output. Even apple picking has become automated. Instead of climbing ladders, the picker rides power lift and puts the apples into a shoot. The machine fills the apple boxes. No more climbing, lifting, and carrying. Even a fat old person like myself could do it.

Not mentioned in this article are the hundreds that coal companies are preparing to lay off as soon as Obama's illegal EPA rules go into effect. Those rules will eventually cause up to a 300% increase in electricity rates. All the bills from Obama's first trerm are about to come due.

About 60 million people just don't care.

Well, I have worked in the medical field for 12 years, and I have seen, firsthanded, the abuse facilities indulge in. If someone is admitted to the hospital where I work, with chest pains and/or shortness of breath, they have a standing order to order a uninalysis. What does a urinanalysis have to do with either of these?

One doctor who works in the ER, routinely orders what the ER nurses call "nap labs", so that he can sleep a little longer before he comes out to see those patients. They order BMPs(Basic Metabolice Panels) or CMPs(Complete Met. Panels). and CBCs(complete blood counts) on people who come in with "pain, multiple sites", when its plain all they want is a pain shot. Something needs to be done. Hospitals and medical facilites need to be held accountable, too.

One time, dad had some glasses made. He had medicare at the time, and he asked them if they could use his medical card to help pay for it. They said no, but went ahead and copied his card. At that time, every three months, they would send him a statement of what they paid for. Lo and behold, they charged $200.00, and he paid cash for them. Companies are just as guilty, and probably have more to do with the problem, than "John Q. Public" does. So, "big business" has helped in the downward spiral of this country as well.

It's garbage that is going on in the medical field that has caused Obamacare to come forth. The medical facilities(Dr's offices, OP clinics, and hospitals) have abused people.

My M-I-L used to work for Wally-World. They kept a lot of their workers under 32 hrs to keep from having to give them insurance. One of her co-workers was part-time, but they worked her at full-time hrs. When they mentioned this, and asked about getting insurance from them, they cut them back down. Businesses won't pay insurance if the don't have to.

It is fear of malpractice suits and the pittance that medicare/medicaid pays out that are largely responsible.

Medical costs go up, in part, to cover malpractice insurance premiums and to cover the losses incurred by medicare/medicaid patients.

Health insurance premiums go up to cover the resulting increases, among other reasons.

So If you want to blame anyone, blame lawyers and government.

Why should employers have the obligation to provide full-time employment and medical insurance? Businesses exist to make a profit, not to be a social agency for their employees.

If employees are unhappy, they should leave.

I guess when your hope is in amerika, not the kingdom to come, it's pretty depressing. But not if you have the faith of Abraham.

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.

I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

Quite to oversimplification and exaggeration. While there are most likely some abuses in the medical field the issues stems from far more than that. Liability issues, frivolous lawsuit issues etc. Trying to pin it to one single issue is far from the truth.

I have worked in the medical field for over 40 years and to reply to your question about why they order a UA for chest pains: A UA can tell if there is an increased WBC count (sign of infection) in the body, blood in the urine (which could be due to several factors) and more. The BMP and CMP and CBC all have specific results parameters which can help indicate a host of possible abnormalities and reasons for people having pain (low sodium or potassium, etc. for one instance).

The objective for multiple labs is to try and identify the source of the patient's pain and then render care after ruling out possible sources/causes. A person can come into the ER with back pain, for instance, but that back pain may be due to spinal/neuro or muscular pain, or may indicate a kidney infection that requires antibiotics or something else that will not be treated with just a pain shot. These basic labs are a starting point to diagnose.

The chest pain you describe may be due to indigestion or cardiac pain or it may indicate referred pain from somewhere else. A pain in the lower abdomen could be a pulled muscle, or it could be signs of an ovarian problem or appendicitis.

I don't know what you do at the hospital you work at, but there are good sound diagnostic reasons for ordering screening labs and I am glad to see that the facility you work at is following standard medical practices when they seek to diagnose a patient.

As far as your statement that "hospitals and medical facililties need to be held accountable, too" - believe me, they are. They have to follow ALL sorts of Federal Government Rules and Regulations in order to be accredited. Look up JCAHO, HIPAA, MIPPA, CMS for starters....

Then there is always the Damocles sword hanging over every healthcare provider and healthcare facility - litigation. Healthcare providers/facilities are not only REQUIRED by federal and state mandates to follow certain diagnostic guidelines for good quality patient care, but also to receive reimbursement for those services, as well as to cover one's backside in the case of bogus lawsuits.

Just heard: Stryker is laying off 1500 employees due to obamacare (new tax on medical devices/components). Stryker makes medical components (hips, etc.). Stryker contributed 2 million dollars to obama's PAC.

    More to follow, no doubt.

Welcome to the new healthcare system, obamacare.

More unemployment, as I have been predicting since obamacare was passed by the Democrats and made into law.
