We just returned from Moody Bible Institute's Founder's Week Conference. It was the best thing I have ever been too and AI have been to a lot of conferences. What is the best Christian conference you have attended?

I am so glad you came away inspired. I have never gotten to go to anything like that due to always having children to attend to. But I have done things locally.

I hope to soon, do things more now that my kids are getting older. I would like to attend some women retreats and meetings nationally and locally. Only got a couple years left and then you can bet your bottom I will be out and about!

So glad again you had the opportunity to do so. I will look forward to your post where I can see where the conference is working in your life and how you perceive reaching others.

I quit going to conferences years ago because most of the material presented was stuff I've heard over and over again [IMG]

The best one I've attended was the Alliance of Baptists Annual Convocation at Wake Forest University last year. I highly recommend attending this year's in Vienna, Virginia.

The Founders Conference of Founders Ministries (SBC).

I wanted to attend the Bethlehem Pastors Conference this year, but was unable. I'd really like to get the tapes because the theme is one that I think is very important.

Jerry Falwell used to hold a Super Conference at Thomas Road Baptist back in the 70's. It probably had the greatest impact on my ministry - had Jay Adams & Ed Hinson teaching on counseling.

Anybody know if they even HAVE such conferences today?

What we need is a website with links and info on all these good conferences.

    Mark and others,

Those of you that go to these conferences do your wives go too, or are they just for men. I am not talking about the ones affiliated with your churches....But like the Moody one. And I am sure that there are others. And how do you find out about these conferences?

How do you know what ones are the right ones?

    Dear Sherrie,
Yes, my wife, my 15 year old son and I all went to the Moody Conference. We have wanted to go for years. We listen to WMBI (Moody Radio) via internet most mornings and love the station. This year's line up of Andy Stanley, Franklin Graham and Tony Evans was more than we could pass up, so we got Amtrak tickets and went. We took our other 3 children (ages 5,7 and 11) on the train but they stayed with my sister who lives in suburban Chicago.
I did attend Promise Keppers years ago, but I enjoyed this more and I think part of the enjoyment was sharing it with my wife and son. Also, you of course, have to get a hotel, but the Moody COnference is free and there are free shuttle busses everywhere. I am trying to remember, it seems like PK was $65.
I loved going with my wife. Mark
