Can we try to keep this thread to congratulations and avoid criticisms?

Congrats to Obama and Democrats for a decisive victory.

Congrats to Americans for this historic night in light of the history of racial tension in the country.

Kudos to McCain for doing better than was expected in holding on to republican states in light of the difficulties he faced.

Sorry, but I cannot offer congratulations but will hold off on the criticism except to say, "It's a sad day for the United States of America."

Whether our candidate won or lost is now irrelevant. Our job now is to pray for our new leadership.

    That's absolutely the right attitude.

    Thank you very much.

Yes, the radical right-wing was routed at the polls yesterday. I am glad it is the anti-Obama folks who are "crying in their beer" after then election.

    Thankyou

From across the world it was a sight to behold, people out in mass, having hope in their eyes that America's level of goodness will increase.

Thankyou for your kind words, it will be hard work for President Obama but he has youth on his side and a will to problem solve.

I'm thankful that someone with no experience can become CEO of the free world based on interviewing skills and no experience.

There is hope for me that I will be the next CEO of Microsoft! Gotta brush up on my interviewing skills! Forget my computer skills are confined to that of a third grader...they need change! We can fix Vista...YES WE CAN! "Company First"! (oops, wrong campaign slogan ) :)

I cannot celebrate with Al-Qaeda , Hamas, the crazed leader in Iran, and other terrorists that he has buddied up to. I cannot celebrate the "one world" methods of the democratic party. I cannot look forward to wearing a veil and speaking arabic.

Sorry. I mourn. Our nation showed that it has given up. We were once the most powerful nation in the world, now we are just one of the gang.
godless and mindless, forward we go.

I, too, cannot offer congratulations to this country for electing another godless man as president.

This bears repeating, as it appears many have not chosen to adopt this attitude.

Come on, folks. God hasn't changed what He asks of His people. And His followers had it a heck of a lot worse in AD 70 than we do.

Let's get on our knees and pray for President-elect Obama, the new Congress, and all of our local leaders and officials.

Not if I can do anything about it. I will begin my first rude and nasty letter to Hussein today.

Granted, I'm taking your post literally, but...

...is that helpful in showing our leaders a Christlike example?
...doesn't that contradict what Scripture tells us to do with regards to our response to those in authority?

I hope that goes along with your prayers for him as we are enjoined in scripture.

1 Timothy 2:1-4. Perhaps if we had been practicing that the past few years we wouldn't be in this mess now. I am guilty, but will not continue to be so.
