Liberals complaining about conservatives being blind are no different than conservatives talking about liberals being blind.

It is nice that the Bush people want to argue for Romney, who was defeated for his poor performance in his last debate and his lifetime membership in Mormonism, as people just don't believe Mormons for talking about things like the martyrdom of Joseph Smith, a petty criminal.

As for the so-called disdain for reality, that could well be charged against Mr. Obama for numerous reasons.

I don't see that the GOP has to worry about every twist and turn of the public debate among the various factions of the GOP. It is the Dems who cannot tolerate a speaker who is pro-life, for example. The GOP is divided among Tea Party, Main Street working people Republicans, Wall Street types, a handful of Libertarians who caucus with the GOP and then vote against them on election day, and liberal Republicans and conservatives and Evangelicals. But we mostly agree on smaller government and lower taxes.

Thatcher was Oxford educated in chemistry. Here is her pithy realistic remark upon becoming Prime Minister:

"Where there is discord, may we bring harmony. Where there is error, may we bring truth. Where there is doubt, may we bring faith. And where there is despair, may we bring hope."
