    An illustration that will fail in the minds of the majority of the students in Austin. All they will see is their concept of racism -- which of course does not exist, but that's what they will see, nonetheless.

    It's a good idea. Most will totally miss the point.

    Shows these young people do not understand affirmative action or they would have hired a minority group and paid them for baking the cakes.

    Liberals are like so many Calvinists. If you do not agree with them then it can only be because you do not really understand the issue.

    You are correct--affirmative action was originally tied to hiring practices that would benefit racial minorities. But then it was expanded to include gender. Then it was expanded to include college entrance quotas. So technically, the conservatives at UT might be off in their definition but anybody can understand the point they are making. And they might be prescient as to where affirmative action will expand next--lower prices for racial minorities.

    Liberals want to use the Constitution - even the preamble when it suit them - ie ... "the general welfare" to them it means supplying food stamps, housing allowance, ect.

    Well, the Declaration of Inde -pendence states "all men are created equal"

    So if we are all equal.....
