And if we facilitate the Bush wing that has taken over the GOP with our votes, it will still be legal in 2025.

Ah! A mind reader among us!

Jeremiah 17:9 "The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? 10 I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.

No. But I wasn't the one contending that we can't discern the intentions of politicians, you were.

I challenge you to judge Republicans and Democrats with the same measure.

Where does it say to only test them if they are Democrats?

If Peroutka doesn't mean it then why say it? You know he can't end abortion on the first day and he knows it too. Not on the second or third day either. So why say it if he knows its not true?

I don't know, maybe you should call his campaign office and ask them. [IMG]

If his supporters don't know then how serious a campaign can he be running?

I think it was a mistake to make that remark. It struck me as a mis-step the second I read it. Mr. Peroutka has not retracted it, so he must stand by it. I dasagree. But, as has been suggested, if it bothers you, call 877-MAP2004.

But it is to me a drop in the bucket, because I heartily agree with the vast, vast majority of what he stands for and says. For that matter I aree with the spirit of the remark in question, but admit that I think it's not practical.

If it was Bush on the PBA ban you would say he knew better all the time and was being disingenuous.

It doesn't look like Peroutka is really as serious as he makes out.

What about Bush saying that he will "rid the world of evil". Sometimes candidates say things that may sound good, but may not be attainable.

We all know abortions will not be outlawed Peroutka's first day in the Whitehouse, and we all know there is nothing Bush can do to "rid the world of evil".

[IMG] THAT'S a whopper, isn't it? The scary thing is that he probably believes it.

Actually what he said was this:

"Tomorrow, when you get back to work, work hard like you always have. But we've been warned. We've been warned there are evil people in this world. We've been warned so vividly," Bush said. "And we'll be alert. Your government is alert. The governors and mayors are alert that evil folks still lurk out there. As I said yesterday, people have declared war on America and they have made a terrible mistake."

"My administration has a job to do and we're going to do it. We will rid the world of the evil-doers," he said.

"The Evil-Doers" - ie. those responsible for 9/11.

I think he can accomplish that and will during the next 4 years.

If you look at the events and years leading up to 9/11 you will find that the Bush administration considers the "evil-doers" to be more than those responsible for 9/11. September 11th, simply opened the door for their "war on terror" and allowed them to "justify" the invasion of Iraq and the other countries they would like to invade over the next four years.

Yes, because his actions, past and present, have led me to believe that. I have never seen anything to lead me to have that perception of Michael Peroutka. That's a big reason that I am voting for him.
