The following quote is from a forthcoming book The European Baptist Federation by Keith Jones. This is a history of the EBF and of Baptist workin Europe.

IMP stands for Indigenous Mission Project

In April 2002 a modest start was made with a handful of missionaries in Moldova, but the Report of the Coordinator to the EBF Council 2006 in
Lyons, France, revealed that IMP personnel were now supported in Armenia, Belarus, Latvia, Russia, Ukraine, Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, the Caucasus
region, Romania, Hungary and Iraq. Several Western European Unions and Conventions – Germany, Norway, Scotland, Spain, the International Baptist
Convention (based in Germany) and the Czech Republic – had joined forces with the Texas and Virginia (USA) State Conventions and the BMS, CBF and
ABC mission agencies. The work of Trusiewicz and the leadership offered by Angelov and his successor, Tony Peck, had made the IMP’s success
remarkable. By January 2007 over fifty new viable churches have been planted in twenty-one different countries in Europe and the Middle East. This demonstrates that the Unions and mission agencies both trusted and used the EBF to facilitate an exciting programme of church planting by indigenous missionaries, involving cross-cultural support and with training and resourcing offered by the EBF-IMP Core Group. p236

You may have noticed the SBC is not mentioned. Why? Simply because since they refust to cooperate with European Baptist Unions. Instead they run or attempt to run parallel programs. This is not a criticism and is put here for information. There is much information on SBC work in Europe in other chapters in the book.

I find it remarkable that fifty new viable churches have been stated in five years.
