The POTUS took the following Oath of Office, "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

The oath itself is not long on words, but it is powerful and it holds the man or woman swearing to it, to some awesome responsibilities regarding America and its citizens. It seems that with each move of the pen, Obama loses more respect from those in the military, to mention a few.

It has become abundantly clear that this president is no longer, "to the best of his ability"
    1) Preserving the Constitution of the United States...
    2) Protecting the Constitution of the United States... and
    3) Defending the Constitution of the United States...

So, should this president continue to ignore the Constitution, by letting this nation slide into financial ruin; military weakness; and lack of confidence by the majority of Americans to "execute the duties of the Office of President", face a Congressional or military coup?

Could this even happen in America?

There was a time I could've bet the ranch-if. I was a betting person-that a coup would never happen in this country. However, it seems that Obama is losing support by past and even some current people on staff, and the military are growing impatient as we look extremely helpless to anything to stop even the smallest of nations from committing atrocities.

    What are your thoughts? :type:

Dude give it a break. You seem obsessive over Obama. The man is an awful excuse for a leader. We all get that. But you seemed consumed by your disdain for him and your fear about what's going on in the country. Just breathe.

As our nation rushes further and faster into a moral decline our laws and constitution becomes ever less effective. Our military is being morally corrupted along with our government. So with that there is the possibility of a military take over at some point down the road. That being said not a take over to restore our constitution but further degrade it.

I think you are overly exaggerating the effects Obama has had on the country. He has made some sweeping changes but everything he has done can be corrected at the ballot box.

Besides, if there were to be a military coup, the military would need to present a new leader that would be acceptable to the citizenry. I cannot think of anyone that would fit the bill. I would hope that all prominent Republicans and Democrats would refuse to be that person.

While I do believe the Obama regime is systematically removing any officers serious about upholding their oaths, I don't believe it's for the purposes of a coup.

Why would they need a coup, when they've essentially taken over America, anyway?

Khrushchev said that the American people would never accept Communism, but would gladly accept small doses of Socialism, until the end result was Communism.

I believe that's precisely what is playing out now. A bloodless coup.

That's why my family and I are doing everything we can to unplug from the system now.

I agree with you. Obama has taken over without using the military. The Democrats don't need to use a coup at the moment.

You're missing RD2's point. In his scenario, the military would revolt against Obama, not in conjunction with him.

We live under an oligarchy. The left vs right paradigm is a sham.

The Obama/Bush/Clinton globalist regimes have made sure the oligarchs have been able to steal our wealth and consolidate their power and turn the state against the people with little to no resistance.

Welcome to the New World Order.

    Wake up.

    The "coup" happened long ago.

Current day Russia is the most glaring example of oligarchy globally, and has the highest rate of income inequality in the world. 35% of the wealth in that country is in the hands of 110 people. And yet the anarchists here defend Russia and it's activities at every turn. It makes one wonder why.

I think that a localized popular revolt, triggered by governmental action (Clive Bundy) is more likely than a military coup.

My answer is short. Could it? Yes. Will it? No.

Wow, that's a world I want to live in. One where the ex-military and whatever other doomsday prepping, gun toting nutjobs overthrow the government. Sounds great. I'm sure that power vacuum will be filled non-violently without fracturing and creating many small splinter groups competing for power while the nation crumbles in the interim. I mean history is on our side right? Right!

This president who promised change is getting it done. His change not ours. We now basically have an open door policy at the border allowing terrorists in. We also have a military that is systematically restructured to follow what ever orders they get regardless of the legality of them. We are importing the Ebola virus into the US and then ferrying it wound on our commercial planes with permission from the CDC. All this to bring us to a state where martial law can be declared and the military take control.

A coup would not be against the President but against the people and constitution all done in the name of protecting the nation from itself. Add to that a financial collapse or at least a strong downturn and the stage is set.

All this and more may be yours as a gift from those who voted for this criminal in the white house and the press who have helped him lay the ground work for his plans.

We do not have a military that is systematically restructured to follow what ever orders they get regardless of the legality of them. What a horrible and ignorant thing to say. Is this is from firsthand experience? Tone down the theatrics a bit. We are not heading for martial law. What in the world would make you even think that?

As our President gives pink slips to many returning from war and orders the military to recruit illegals in their place. I would say you are the one who needs to wake up as you must be another Obama supporter.
