Although I don't believe the mission's actual priority is centered on finding life on Mars it seems that is the underlying question that many what to know. Is it even possible?

I see no reason that there wouldn't be life on Mars. Now, I personally don't think there will be intelligent life. But bacteria, etc, I see no reason why. What is interesting to me, is the blow that evolutionists will take if we don't find life on Mars. After all, why couldn't life forms have evolved to accomodate the atmosphere there?

Life, in whatever form, can be anywhere God chose to create it for His purposes.

As to Mars, not likely. But not impossible, as there are bacteria and such in ocean vent pipes and sulphur springs. Watching this unfold, if some organic compounds are discovered on Mars, what will be done with the "news"?

Will that herald another and greater push to continue to build a modern day version of the Tower of Babel?

In another thread there's a discussion about feeding the hungry of the world. If memory serves, this mission's investment so far is over 2 billion dollars. Wouldn't our Lord have been better served using those resources to take care of the "widows and orphans" of this planet?

All life, intelligent or not comes from God so unless He put it there it doesn’t exist and I see no reason for Him to do that. There is Only One God and He came here to Earth to fulfill His Glory so why create life, or even another form of life elsewhere? I think His plan for life to begin and flourish was only for here and for us; of course we may begin to spread the life that He began to other planets by some means some day through space travel.

On that note, I wonder if we might have introduced some bacteria on Mars now that we’ve been dropping off things there but I doubt it could live.

As you phrased your question, "COULD life exist" sure it could. The requisite necessities are there for life. If you'd have asked DOES life exist, then I'd have to answer no. God created Earth for man. I believe had he living beings elsewhere he'd have said so in his word.

No there is no possible chance that life exists on mars or any other place in the universe and it is a total waste of money to be seeking such. The creation account gives us how and what God created and there is no other life in the universe. When God is done with this world we know that He will destroy all the creation with even the heaves passing away 2 Peter 3:10.

All creation gorans because of the fall of man on one planet. All creation was effected by our fall and we are alone to deal with it between God and ourselves.

Because there is no such thing as evolution. There is "In the beginning GOD" and nothing exists outside of Him. this 6000 year old creation is spelled out and there is no possibility for evolution.
With every NASA project they seek to prove evolution and life outside of earth but instead in every attemtp have actually proven God's word to be truth. They cannot find what is not there. Not even a single shred of evidence that it is.

That was kind of my point. If they don't find anything, evolutionists are going to take a blow.

However, contrary to what you believe, I see no reason why God wouldn't have put bacteria and microorganisms there. Then again, I see no reason why He would've. To me, the point is kind of moot.

Could life exist elsewhere? Of course. We just haven't been told one way or another.

This is not an attack but a just making a point. I agree from a strictly human reasoning there is no reason to think there is not life other then on earth. However when approached from a strictly biblical perspective there is no reason to hold there might be. I simply try and never confuse one with the other and always go with the biblical understanding. Based on scripture there is no possible way or even reason for life to be anyplace in the universe except here on earth.

Well you are correct if you don't believe the creation account.

Scripture is silent on life elsewhere in the universe. Based on scripture microwave ovens don't exist.

I could not agree more with you. However interest and priorities come to play here. People are not interested in helping the poor an needy in the countries. In a certain web board of a self-help career book I started a thread about helping the poor and needy and how the book Radical has changed my life. My thread got deleted.. I am guessing but I think that the administrators and those in that camp are more interested in self-fulfillment, finding their dream jobs, getting rich, and such than the poor. They are not interested in the facts at all, but have an agenda and most likely a strong dislike of me because I am not of the same mind. They will lie about me, accuse me falsely, and when presented with the facts they will ignore them as they have an agenda.

no, for there takes a VERY unique combination for life to actually arise and substain, and here on earth it is due ONLY to God doing special Creation act here upon the earth, and there is NO hint that he has done it on any other planet/world!

earth appears to be his shining jewel, and Humanity upon it, in all of his created universe!

I know you're on a poor and needy kick, but derailing threads to talk about what you want to talk about is very rude. And not every cent needs to be spent towards helping the poor and needy. If I decide to go out and eat with my wife, I don't have to feel bad about it and think, "Man, that $50 could have been sent to another country to help the poor."

I am a Creationist 100%. I don't even accept forms of Theisitc Evolution. However, I hate this argument, this "proof" that Creationists try to use. The fact is, if evolution were true, then we would have developed to inhabit the environment. We wouldn't have developed because of the environment. So, saying that "Earth is the only place that has all the necessary ingredients for life" actually hurts our cause, instead of helping it, by making us look ignorant.

Woody I have never heard that kind of logic from a creationist, but if you have fine and I would agree it is lame if that is the main bases for their argument. Our main argument should be that God has given the account of creation and that is how it is with no life anyplace else. As much as I like science fiction I am afraid it does tend to cause some to cling to the fiction side. Not even plant life much less biological life any place else. No life of any kind outside of earth and I would point out that every bit of exploration bares that out, not the other way around.
While it is true that God can do what He wants, it is also true in regards to the creation He has told us what and when He did and there is no life outside the earth. We are literally spending billions on projects that are based on a lie and getting no monitary return on the money. The only possible good might be is if this all continues it will prove them worng to the point they cannot deny and some might turn to God to find the real truth.
