    Then they should be fired.

I saw the video. They turned around and ran.

They should have had their batons out and swinging.

You OBVIOUSLY heard what you wanted to hear as she expressed repeatedly that she did no such thing. But in trying to balance her response for freedom, some folks took advantage of the space she had given to the peaceful protestors.

Yep, let's get the black mayor to give the police free reign to shoot more black people. Wasn't happening.

Odd that you never hear such talk after a sports team loses and the white folks riot and start burning stuff.

Perfectly illustrating the stupidity of his statement. So you say nothing to him for what he says. But you feel the need to check me for pointing out how superfluously stupid his comment was?

Because folks don't take very kindly to the people they pay killing other lesser armed folks they live around.
    Did I say that?

If you say so. I saw restraint in not agitating an already tense situation. You and some others sound like you just wanted to see the police shoot someone.

If you're not sympathetic because folks are losing their life, then you don't get it and are alienated because you choose to be. No amount of what they do or say would change that.

You're whining about it now as have several other posters.

    i didn't say they were.

I have. Doesn't change my statement about the cops.

No it shouldn't. But in this situation, the hand she had been dealt, that's what the situation was. She chose correctly, IMO, to protect life over property.

The point is to not display the same sort of unbridled, judge, jury and execution type injustice that the police have become infamous for. They just laid to rest a man that the world believe was brutally murdered while in police custody. Why would the mayor do anything to make them appear to be just what folks think they are and thereby amp things up more?

I'm sure you are aware that my comment was completely facetious. But as I mentioned before, Blacks are already aware that a lot of Whites think they are animals. So ain't much changed since slavery and Jim Crow.
When your voice isn't heard, sure it is.

Nope. They should get the same pass that their white counterparts get for doing the same thing.

I see we're sttill trying to change her words.

So I won't expect anything productive from this poster.

If these "lesser armed folks" were setting my property on fire, yeah, I'd be cool with killing them.

    Did you?

Actually, the video shows that the pack became emboldened by the police's retreat.

Actually, I wanted to see them shoot several people.

Would you be sympathetic if somebody lost their life as a result of the police's unwillingness to stop the riots and arson?

    How so?

You implied it. That is, unless you meant that blacks are only outraged by abuses by white cops, but not by black cops.

But it does show that you're being dishonest in your characterization of my position.

She didn't protect either. That nobody died was a result of circumstance, not of her doing. If somebody had been in one of the houses that were set on fire, would you still say she protected life by instructing the police to do nothing?

    Straw man.

Because they have a duty to protect their citizens and their property, not to look nice for the cameras.

What were they doing to make their voices heard? How does stealing a case of liquor communicate a "complaint"? How does burning down your neighbor's house communicate a complaint?

Actually, white people are arrested all the time.

We can't set aside law and order in the name of preserving life. It is law and order that ultimately preserves life on the greater scale.

No law enforcement officer, all the way to the president...can suspend the law for political reasons.

But personally, I see the actions of these lawless rioters digging their own grave. They are going to overstep their bounds one day and the lawful citizens, black, white, red, yellow, and purple...will know them for who they are, and that their victims are not just whites but everyone in their path.

We're already seeing that. More black leaders, the president and mayor excluded, are calling this for what it is.

    Lawlessness.

The cause is not just and the fruit evil.

    God bless.

There would be no "situation" if people would simply respect the law.

The obvious answer to the OP is is simply the mayor suspended law and openly advocated destruction. Of course this is a woman that thanked the Nation of Islam who have apparently joined forces in their agenda...

    ...with Bloods and Crips.

According to the article this is not surprising.

They want control, not law and order. I hope many lawsuits against the city come about. If we are going to throw tax money away, it might as well go to justified reparations.

    God bless.

Or if those elected to uphold the law upheld it.

The citizenry of this country should demand it. Too many of these riots have gone unchecked.

I would call for a rebellion but that's a revolting idea.

    ;)

    "people" includes elected officials

But you must admit it begins with the individual who INITIALLY broke the law.

Why are they holding back? Because the political leaders want to use this to gain power and control so have ordered the police to stand by.

In part yes, but our Law recognizes tactics that instigate criminal action and elected officials should be held equally culpable when they wink at potential criminal activity. Entrapment might prove some capable of criminal activity but our Law holds those instigating culpable.

And let me ask you, do you have a respect for how these riots have been handled?

Imagine the Hispanic population doing the same thing when that guy Rea, a deaf hispanic, was nearly choked to death by a black security guard. Would they have gotten a wink from elected officials?

Again, they're digging their own grave. Guarantee you they don't want to interact with the Baltimore Sheriff's Department right now. I saw righteous anger in that fellow's eye today, and I pray God make him His sword in these evil acts which I think are demon inspired.

    God bless.

    Sorry,
I thought you were coming from the point of view that the cops are responsible due to the way they treated the prisoner.

Problem is - everyone wants to point the finger.

And that is precisely what purpose the Law serves.

I can't imagine the anger both black and white cops alike felt and feel. The disadvantage that the black wall and the white wall have to the Blue Wall is that they have been given authority to interpret and enforce the Law.

And with fifteen casualties a line has been crossed that takes things out of the hands of the mouthpieces who stand in leadership positions.

I've been beaten by cops myself but remain grateful we have them. A few bad apples to be sure but we don't cut down the tree because of that.

    God bless.
