Cowbows New Stadium

    The cowboys unveiled thier new stadium yesterday and what a stadium it will be!

    They have maintained the hole in the roof so that God can watch his team play! But it now has a retractable roof that can cover the hole on bad weather days, and so that basketball - think final four, etc can be played there. Dallas made a huge mistake by letting this one get away to Arlington. arlington made a commitement to give the boys 350 million, which was supposed to cover half of the cost, that will only cover a fifth of the cost of this architectural gem.

    You all need to check it out - it is truly stunning, best of all Jerry Jones is spending most of his own money to build it. Arlington is getting off fairly easy (if you call 350 million easy) for what will be the new standard in stadiums - nothing else will come close

    With a projected construction budget of about $1 billion, it is going to be one of the most expensive buildings ever built.

    I think all these new stadiums are ridiculous. There are way more important needs in our communities to justify spending all this money on stadiums like this.

    As long as at least the lion's share of the cost is privately financed I have no problem with these stadiums. They help to bring in fans for the various events held there which helps to grow the local economy and increase tax revenue for the local(and state) governments to fund taxpayer-financed programs.
