Will somebody please explain this to me? Galation on another thread said he believes that God used evolution to create.
How does that work, and how does it mesh with the biblical account of creation?

FWIW, my own opinion is that God gave me a brain. His creation gives me evidence that creation of life was via evolution. Rather simple really. It saves me from having to over/under interpret the bible and allows me to use my brain for the purpose he intended. basically, I don't see what all the fuss is about. Most ye-creationists (IMO) simply want to worship the bible rather than the God described within the bible.

Elena, I appreciate your opinion but I was going for more of an explanation of what it is and how they both can work together...an explanation of the belief, not a defense. [IMG]

Gina - it does not mesh with God's Word.

Rather it seeks to compromise the Word of God and in so doing - it corrupts the Gospel.

You see, the problem is that Galation's mythology rests squarly on the myth that you can "snip out" a few chapter of the Bible here and there - and keep the rest as "reliable, trust worthy and accurate".

But in fact - the "rest of it" ALSO relies on the START being "correct".

Hence EVEN the 10 commandments have embedded in them God's own SUMMARY of the Genesis 1-2 FACT. ANd that Summary creates a devastating equality between the YOM (day) at Sinai and the 7 literal days of Creation week.

EVEN worse the entire GOSPEL account REQUIRES it.

Man does not FALL from "perfection" IF his "creation" is nothing more than "Starvation, extermination, blood thirsty carnage, killing and brutality".

the "FALL" from such a state such that Christ NOW has to "die for our sin" so that God does not toss us into HELL fire for not STAYING true to our origin (OR WORSE the goofy notion that God would ever RETURN us to that PARADISE condition of carnage) - is made a mockery.

This has been pointed out repeatedly.

Cutting and pasting your way through the word of God - because you would prefer a "myth" to the truths of God's Word - has never worked.

Our Atheist evolutionis friends AND our Creationist Christians of integrity - see this same point clearly.

But there are those whose "compromise" model quickly seeks to compromise the Gospel with atheism's doctrines of evolutionism - causes them to to trade the Gospel of truth - for a myth - getting nothing out of the trade off.

In short, Galatian is in danger of getting splinters where it hurts from trying to straddle the fence!

To say that God gave us a brain does not mean that we are supposed to ignore Him with it! Creation itself gives ample evidence that the Genesis account of creation is true. There is no contradiction between a straightforward reading of Genesis and the data presented in creation. The contradiction is in the interpretation of the meaning of the data as seen by evolutionists and what God has told us in the Bible.

We observe that God does most things by nature in this world. We know that the creation that goes on now is by natural means. You are a creature of God, are you not, Gina? Did He not use natural means to create you. If He knew you in the womb, He certainly did create you, even if it was by nature.

It's not a problem for a Christian; we are from the Earth, but we have a higher calling because there is also in us an immortal soul.

Don't let pride take from you the acceptance and understanding of His creation.

    Nobody's getting this, are they?
I'm not asking for the sake of arguing it with you. I don't know enough to do that whether I find I agree or disagree with you. I'm asking you to explain it so I can learn what it is. I don't care who thinks what of Galatian, pride isn't factoring into the question, and your opinion on YEC's doesn't matter to me at this point in time.
    Here they are once again.

If anyone has a real answer I'd appreciate it.

    Gina -

On page 3 of this subject area - one of the last topic threads still remaining is "Evolutionism corrupts the Gospel".

This shows a "Detailed" exchanged focused on the first 3 chapters of the book of Genesis and HOW the myths of evolutionism either "do" or do not "mesh" with God's Word.

Galation provided several posts there attempting to show just exactly how it all "fit together".

    You may find it helpful.

If this were so (which it isn't), can you explain how it is possible for plant life to live without the sun? That means that the plants had to survive without light and without heat.

How does that work? The idea that God could use evolution to create should be no stretch. As far as how it meshes with the biblical account, the biblical account was not written to be a literal account. Rather it was written as an allegorical litrary tool to explain to us who God is, what He is in relation to us, and why He made us.
