    Daniel 8 Verses 3-8

3Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.

4I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.

5And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.

6And he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power.

7And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.

8Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.

I was hearing this preacher who was saying that in Daniel 8 it predicts the 911 incident. Speaking of the World Trade center, as the ram ( united states ) that had two hornes by the river ( Hudson River) I believe he said. What do you think of this? Thanks!!

I think you need to spend some time listening to worthy preachers and stop watching TBN.

I know, people were a little stunned when they heard that but many were writting it down to study it.

:BangHead: It's a rabbit trail, Tali. I don't unerstand why people spend so much time trying to figure out where our events are foretold in the Bible. It's presumptuous (sp), if you ask me. I mean what good is it now, since it alread yhappened and all. It would have been nice to figure that out BEFORE 9/11.

    Soli Deo gloria,
    Dustin

Its a prophesy about Alexander The Great, and Persia. Shortly after Alexander concurred Persia he died, and four of his generals split up his conquests. Thus the great horn was broken, and four notable ones stood up in its place.

I think your preacher is reaching for straws, maybe he should attend some Bible study classes.

No...lol... It was funny because my father was so bored he's 72 years old. He fell asleep while he was giving his speach about 911 and the bible. The preacher then said " See, its sad and even in Church demons put people to sleep. See the devil, put that old man to sleep. Its a shame " My dad woke up and was like.. huh?? alot of people were laughing..

Forgive the yelling but: OH I HOPE HE WAS JOKING

For the Daniel thing, he's an idiot. If he is daring to get up anywhere with a Bible maybe he should think about reading it instead of reading INTO it. Gabriel gives Daniel the meaning of the vision towards the end of the chapter.

For the sleeping thing...welllllllll...maybe he should just consider the quality of his messages. Come to think of it, instead of the sleep being brought about by demons, maybe God really loves your dad and gave him the sleep (Psalms 127:2) :D

I like this preacher....I like the fact that I'm on the other side of the planet from him :D He had books to sell? Maybe encyclopedias door-to-door...

Dan 8 SAYS it is talking about "Medo Persia" (Ram) and "Greece" (Goat) in the text itself - pretty hard to miss when the Bible GIVES us it's own interpretation. The NEXT entity after Greece is Rome (the little horn that grows EXCEEDINLY GREAT by comparison to Persia and Greek empires).

(The U.S is not mentioned until Rev 13 - coming up after the 1260 years of dark ages persecution)

    In Christ,

    Bob
