When Jeremiah joined the SBC---it didn't surprise me none!!

I heard him preach the last time my wife and I attended FBCJAX's Preaching Conference---awesome and uplifting!!

I remember when Arthur was kicked off...and IMO it was to the DETRIMENT of that network! 'Election' is indeed found in Scripture. It's clear that God had predestinated certain people to be in special service to Him, but most others had to serve Him of their own volition, not having the benefit of special visits by Him, etc. And I believe that now we BECOME elected by coming to CHRIST. HIS "electoral vote" is the only one that counts.

And music is MUSIC. I'm willing to guess that David had more than one "jam session" with some buddies. Notice how lively most Jewish music is! The BBN people chalked up another "W" for Satan by dropping DJ! Luckily, in my 'hood, we have a Christian radio station, WEMM-FM 107.9 that carries an eclectic mix from several nets, and DJ is regularly carried.

Appears BBN is becoming smothered in legalism.

Not, and that, Sir,on your behalf, is a legalistic statement.

Your type screams, "Legalist!", but then by legalistic motives your type demands the acceptence of what is abrasive and even offensive to their stand against what you otherwise allow.

IF BBN is becoming "legalistic", then pray-tell, what are you becoming?

To equate making a firm stand in the area of worship music with attributing it to satan is apostacy.

It may help you to re-read Jude, but I seriously doubt it.

BTW< I heard a man preach "with the power of God all over him" in a campmeeting, the people loved it, only to find out when he got home from the meeting his daughter found out he had been viewing porn on the internet.

Wonder how many would still applaud him?

I know that too many applaud the charisma of the man over his walk with the Lord. What a shame, and it links very closely with worshipping the creature more than the Creator!

It certainly appears that BBN is starting to have that problem.

However, there may be another motive here by BBN. DJ was replaced by the nephew (Stephen Daves) of the BBN president (Lowell Daves). I suspect that BBN used CCM as a smokescreen for getting his nephew into a prime spot on BBN. I never even heard DJ's music on BBN.

You don't know much about BBN then, Lowell Davey has a great standard for the music he allows on BBN. Jeremiah just doesn't fit the bill.

I thank the Lord for some one who knows how and where to stand.

BTW, if you're going to criticize some one, at least spell their name right.

Salamander, thanks for the spelling correction.

Jeremiah did not have any music on his radio program on BBN. So what was the complaint?

Jeremiah had the 8:30 AM slot (radio prime time) on BBN in our area. BBN removed DJ from the primetime slot and inserted Davey's nephew in DJ's primetime place using CCM as a reason. However, DJ never had CCM on his BBN radio program. Looks like a smokescreen to me.

BTW, we like the traditional christian music on BBN. We do not care for most CCM on other stations. OF course, we also like DJ. It is the way it was done to get a family member into the prime slot that we do not care for.

OK, Dr Fuss, please take your "fuss" to Lowell Davey, I'm sure he can be reached to answer your questions, but please don't criticize him until after you conversed with him.

I highly respect the man, even though I don't fully agree with him on all points, I trust his decision in the matter.

I have listened to Jeremiah many times, now, and not since his departure from BBN, but a few years ago, turn the station to something else or tun the radio off when he comes on.

Why? because once he told his congregation to read a passage no matter what version they had out-loud together, and it sounded like total mass confusion, and God ain't the Author of confusion, so who is? the devil!

I know Jeremiah is very well versed and much studied, but that just may be his problem.

He is an ear tickler on one point, then a psycological preacher that can only penetrate the mind and totally miss the heart on the other.

"CCM"? C'mon! I used to listen to that stuff while smoking dope!

IMHO David Jerimiah and Dr. Charles Stanley are two men who don't preach/teach quite as clear cut as they used to. Both men tend to lend themselves more to preaching mixxed in with self-help / psychological type of preaching. More so than they ever did before.
I have been listening to both for over 20yrs. on a consistant basis. Dr. Stanley lost cred. with me when he remained pastor of FBAtlanta after having to go through a divorce.
Earlier in his ministry I heard him preach very strong and firm against divorced pastors. Things have changed I suppose?
