    Note to Democrats: Be warned that reading this will require you to do one of two things.

    1. Continue to be "politically correct" and dismiss this as a conspiracy theory (even though it's a proposed bill by a Democrat). And continue to listen to the Marxist "talking heads" in the media, elect Marxists, be "tolerant" of perversion, subversion and sedition. Smile quietly, make no protests, while your kids are brainwashed with seditious, perverted, Godless ideas and values, by America-hating Marxist "professors." Or

    2. Open your eyes and see that the Democrat party, with its love of infinitely expanding government programs, control and socialism has actually stopped trying to hide that they are a communist party. Now they barely even try hiding it because their followers are so brainwashed with Bush/Republican hatred that Democrats can push any crazy law or policy whatsoever and their followers will assure others that it's not as bad as it sounds or simply refuse to talk about it. And in seeing that (number 2), you'll stop following them, because you're not brainwashed, right?

    Next on school agenda: Promoting communism

    A new plan by a California state Senator Alan Lowenthal, a Democrat in the 27th District, would allow schools to be used to promote the overthrow of the U.S. government, and let teachers in public district classrooms "inculcate in the mind of any pupil a preference for communism."

    "This bill would actually allow the promotion of communism in public schools," CRI said.

    That's because the state's Civic Center Act already requires a school district to grant the use of school property, when an alternative isn't available, to nonprofit groups, clubs or associations set up for youth and school activities.

    "But the law also states that the property may not be used by anyone intent on overthrowing the government," CRI said. Now, the group said, "SB 1322 would delete the requirement that an individual or organization wanting to use the school property is not a Communist action organization or Communist front organization.

    "This bill would also strike the law that a public school or community college employee may be fired if he or she is a member of the Communist Party," the group said.

    Worse yet, the group said, "the bill would also strike the law that prohibits a teacher giving instruction in a school or on public school property from teaching communism with the intent to indoctrinate or to inculcate in the mind of any pupil a preference for communism," CRI said.

    "SB 1322 is simply shocking," said Meredith Turney, legislative liaison for the affiliated Capitol Resource Family Impact. "The socialist members of the legislature are now advocating that communism, one of the most brutal forms of government in history, be taught favorably to government school students. Anyone espousing communism, which does advocate for the violent overthrow of existing government, will be permitted to not only use government property, but work in schools and colleges, and teach their freedom-hating propaganda to impressionable young people."

    "Less than 20 years after the fall of the communist Soviet Union, California lawmakers are eager to once again begin advancing a political ideology responsible for the deaths of millions of innocent people," England said. "Instead of promoting communism in our schools, lawmakers should be focused on actually teaching students to read, write and think for themselves."

    "Just when we thought the indoctrination in California's public schools couldn't get any worse, state lawmakers introduce bills that will further brainwash innocent children," said a statement from Capitol Resource Institute, a traditional values and family advocacy organization based in California.

    "We're in California. Of course it has a chance of succeeding," CRI spokeswoman Karen England told WND. "These people get bolder and bolder every year."

    The bill itself explains that it would delete provisions "regarding a person who intends to use school property on behalf of an organization to deliver a statement, signed under penalty of perjury, that the organization is not a Communist action organization or Communist front organization required to be registered with the Attorney General of the United States or does not, to the best of that person's knowledge, advocate the overthrow of the government of the United States or of the State of California by force, violence, or other unlawful means."

    The plan also outlines it would drop provisions that school and college employees could be dismissed for being a part of the Communist Party and drop a ban on "teaching communism with the intent to indoctrinate or to inculcate in the mind of any pupil a preference for communism."

    Full Story

    It's amazing that a friend of ours was recently talking about how much trouble she got in for simply answering "yes" when her students asked her if she was prolife. She was told that if she did that again she would be suspended without pay for political indoctrination. I guess that's just for Republicans though...communists will get a free pass if this communist....I mean if this Democrat gets his way.

    You need to hook up with Comrade RevMitchell to trade ideas about red baiting strategies and tactics. Foolishness once again shows up on this board. You have far bigger things to fear than Democrats. Your liberty has been bought with the blood of both Republican AND Democratic patriots. Shame on you for turning a difference in politics into an opportunity to malign your fellow countrymen.

    Communists

    Looking back over the last 8 years it seems it is the Republicians who have inched our way toward a Communist ... or at least a totalitarian government. Let's see, under which administration Republican or Democrat did this happen:

    1. Pass a law whereby people can be detained for any length of time, sometimes for years, and not be allowed to know why or by whom they were detained? Thus 700 years of Habis Corpus overturned.

    2. Have constructed large electronic bill board on major highways that do carry messages on traffic occasionally, but when not used for that purpose carry the message, "Report Suspicious Activity" followed by a telephone number. Old Communist tactic.

    3. Began using torture on foreign prisoners.

    Well, that's a start on the list, others may want to add more. All these totalitarian tactics have come about under a Republician president and a Republician controlled Congress.

    4. Getting information on what books people buy (happened here in Denver) or check out of the library without telling them and without a subpoena.

    5. Can go into your home when you aren't there and never tell you, all without a warrant.

    6. Can declare you, as an American citizen, to be an "enemy combatant" outside the reach of your Constitutional rights.

    7. Use of "opposite speak"... e.g. "war" is "peace"

    8. Continued lying to the people...e.g. "Saddam is a threat with his WMD", "Saddam was involved in 9/11", and "We've never been about 'stay the course'".

    Yeah boy...the nutty right loves to make ridiculous assertions, but challenge them and they are either being persecuted or any who disagree with their inanity are the ones out of bounds. Typical rightie bull! May I offer you crybabies a towel?

    Religious right

    Have you noticed how quiet our 'religious right' folk here have been concerning the rights, as pointed out, that have been taken away the last eight years ... and the use of well known totalarian tactics this administration has approved. They say they are for freedom, but they do not defend our rights that have made us free. Indeed they have cheered as these right have been eroded.:tonofbricks:

    If anyone is interested, here is the bill being introduced. It is set for hearing on March 26. California Senate : SB 1322

    It looks like the goals of this bill are to remove existing portions of the Education Code of California that ...

    1) prevent school property from being used for a meeting of a non-profit organisation that is Communist or intend to overthrow the US gov by violence if they cannot find another location. For other groups, the school district is forced to allow such a meeting to take place on the property if they can't find another location.

    2) allow teachers to be fired for being a Communist party member.

    3) prohibit teachers from teaching Communism for the purpose of indoctrination on school property.

    4) require public employees to answer questions under oath regarding membership with an organisation advocating violent overthrow of the US gov.

    I believe the intent of the bill is to remove antiquated portions of the code that appear no longer appear to be an issue of concern.

    Point 2 should be removed from the code. I think valid arguments can be made for the removal or modification of 1, 3 and 4.

    When the Nazis came for the communists,
    I remained silent;
    I was not a communist.

    When they locked up the social democrats,
    I remained silent;
    I was not a social democrat.

    When they came for the trade unionists,
    I did not speak out;
    I was not a trade unionist.

    When they came for the Jews,
    I remained silent;
    I wasn't a Jew.

    When they came for me,
    there was no one left to speak out.

    Attributed to Pastor Martin Niemöller (1892–1984) about the inactivity of German intellectuals following the Nazi rise to power and the purging of their chosen targets, group after group.

    George Santayana wisely said,
    "Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it."

    Wisdom indeed. I think that Communism should be taught in our schools from Engels/Marx and the manifesto to Linen, Stalin, Mao, et al; The out and out brutality of millions dead under their teachings and rule. How the populace under their control are sent to prison camps to spend the rest of their lives in brutal conditions of squalor. If for only proclaiming Christ. I will stand on record that I want it to be taught.
    Quite frankly I think that we have been under Communist rule for some time now.
    Excerpt from The Communist Manifesto;
    Communist Manifesto
    Of course, in the beginning, this cannot be effected except by means of despotic inroads on the rights of property, and on the conditions of bourgeois production; by means of measures, therefore, which appear economically insufficient and untenable, but which, in the course of the movement, outstrip themselves, necessitate further inroads upon the old social order, and are unavoidable as a means of entirely revolutionizing the mode of production.

    These measures will, of course, be different in different countries.

    Nevertheless, in most advanced countries, the following will be pretty generally applicable.

    1. Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes.
    This right is being whittled down little by little with regulation and zoning codes.

    2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
    IRS anyone?

    3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.
    Death Tax anyone?

    4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.
    Hmmm! Are we being played as fools in this emigration debate that is going on ?

    5. Centralization of credit in the banks of the state, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly.
    Two words, FEDERAL RESERVE!

    6. Centralization of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the state.

    7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state; the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.

    8. Equal obligation of all to work. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
    EEOC

    9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of all the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the populace over the country.
    Urban sprawl.

    10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, etc.
    NEA

    I think many of us have been sleeping very soundly.

    Gold Dragon just posted a link to the actual bill, and he gave some points which seem to contradict what the OP was saying.
    Has anyone even tried to follow that link and actually read and analyze the bill ?
    I am not Democrat, but I don't think even the libs of libs among the Democrats will allow communism an actual foothold through legislation.
