As you know, California Democrats in their state legislature passed legislation authorizing same-sex marriage. This in spite of the fact that on March 7, 2000, California voters voted on Proposition 22 that “Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.”

The vote was 4,618,673 votes in favor of the proposition, comprising 61.4% of the total vote.

Opponents garnered 2,909,370 votes, for 38.6% of the vote.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Israel is the land of milk and honey and California is the land of the fruits and nuts. Nevertheless, we have a snapshot of what the Democrat Party is all about nationwide: same-sex marriage and abortion on demand. Until the Democrats stand for marriage as one man and one woman and become pro-life, they will continue to go into decline.

The Republican Party dominated from 1860 until 1932; the Democrat Party dominated from 1932 until 2000. I think that the Democrats are going to spend another 70 years in the wilderness unless they silence the voices demanding same-sex marriage and abortion on demand.

Silencing voices is not a component of a free society. Giving all views an open dialog and accepting or rejecting them is. If such views drive a party to minority status, that is one possible outcome. However, it is my position that ideas stand or fall on their merit, yet they still should be debated and discussed.

I indicated on another thread that catering to the militant homosexual agenda was one way the ACLU and the radical left wanted to destroy this Constitutional Republic.

As long a California allows its legislators to rule contrary to voters demands, they will continue on their quest for moral irrelevancy.

OR, what does the ACLU have to do with what the California legislature and governor do?

Also, suppose that Gov. Schwartzenegger signed the bill into law, how would that destroy the republic? How does 2 gay men or 2 lesbians having a legal domestic contract harm you or the nation? They are already living together, so how does giving them some legal benefits change your life?

One Democrat told me that government had the right to determine marriage law and that same-sex marriage was not the goal of gays and lesbians who really only want the economic benefits of marriage. He was against giving them either the economic benefits of marriage or the name of marriage. He thought that gays and lesbians are pitiful in every respect.
