Air America is quite alive, LE. I am a subscriber to it.

And in addition to Air America there is the Stephanie Miller Show, the Bill Press Show, and a host of other progressive talk shows in the United States.

Interesting, it is called big brother when government interferes with pornography but when it comes to forcing liberal radio programs down everyone's throat big brother is good enough.

Do CNN and/or Al Jazeera broadcast over public airwaves?

I signed the petition and told Rush Limbaugh that he should be ashamed for putting his personal feelings toward President Obama ahead of the good of the country.

Yeah, we need to protect poor little Barack from that big, bad (very big) Rush.

Please. Someone needs to tell Mr. Obama to do something better with his time. And Democrats have better things to do than circulate petitions and drive our country deeper into unConstitutional debt.

The country needs to be protected from the likes of Rush Limbaugh through people refusing to listen to him.

I believe in the 1st Amendment. Rush has the right to say what he wants (even when it's taken out of context) just as Rachel Maddow has the right to say what she wants. I have the right to not listen to either of these blowhard gasbags. It's called liberty...a foreign concept now a days.

Nah. He probably earns more money every two months than any of us posters will earn in 45 years of working.

Certainly. However, Rachel makes good sense when she talks while Limbaugh is doing nothing more than bloviating.

If you claim Fox News does, then they all do. Aren't all the airwaves public? Or do you liberals have your own little bunch of airwaves somewhere?

Are the satellites public airwaves? I really don't know. I am not claiming that Fox News is using public airwaves as I don't know. The Fox Entertainment Channel(the one that broadcasts NFL games) does but that is a separate channel.

Well, I tend to not drink KoolAid, so I have to disagree with you. They're both partisan hacks. They both prefer the company of women. They both do a great job reading their party talking points. Neither of them have ever met a story they couldn't twist. If one wasn't so much larger than the other, I'd have to ask if they've ever been seen at the same time to dismiss whether they were one and the same

Certainly more than you do as a Bluegrass D.J. An old timer used to drop by my shop & often said...."people will forgive you for most anything, except success...."

Since I am a volunteer DJ I think you are right.

However, I enjoy myself as much in doing my show, and maybe even more so, than Limbaugh does since I am not commenting on air about news that makes my blood boil. :)

Democrats Edit: Take Limbaugh's 'Want Obama to Fail' Comment Out of Context
    Wednesday, January 28, 2009
    By Susan Jones, Senior Editor

Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee launches 'Help Stop Rush' petition. (From DCCC Web site)(CNSNews.com) - The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is running an audio clip on its Web site that misrepresents what radio host Rush Limbaugh meant when he said on his Friday, Jan. 16 radio program that he wanted President Obama "to fail."

The audio clip, as played by the DCCC, omits a key sentence, as follows:

    DCCC version:

    What Limbaugh said:
    Bolded section editied out.

    Democrat leadership is dishonest.

Where did the Baptist forum get these liberals? EVERY Baptist church I have ever been a part of was bible-based, and that automatically leads to conservatism and patriotism.

Oh, I forgot...Laodecian practices are even creeping in Bible-believing churches during these end times....

    Even so, Lord, come quickly!

I grew up in the South and now realize that most churches have confused their culture and Christianity. The two are not the same, and thus this confusion leads to conservatism. As I have traveled the world, become older, and studied Christ's life, the way he treated people and his example and teachings show that he put people at the head of his concern. Most conservatives in the US put the good of industry and business ahead of the good of people.

When I was younger Conservatism was generally understood as "I am happy with the situation now and do not want it changed." A good definition of conservatism is: the disposition to preserve or restore what is established and traditional and to limit change. This is no longer true. Conservatism has become a lot meaner in the passing years with the emphasis moving to destroying those who do not agree with me instead of restoring traditional values. This downward spiral began with Reagan and I hope hit bottom with the just past administrations idea of "if you are not with me you are not patriotic and you are my enemy." There was a time in our country when discussions were civil, even when the opinions were very different. Somewhere along the way we have lost that civility. It is a shame that has been lost.
