Being a political conservative is not necessary for salvation.

Being a political conservative is not necessary in order to be patriotic.

Being a political conservative is not necesary to believe God's Word.

Obviously, your thinking is flawed if you think that being saved means that one is "automatically" a political conservative.

No but being saved should mean that one "automatically" gives more than lip service to stopping the murder of the unborn rather than voting for those who have promoted it in the past, said that they would continue to promote it in the future, and has now gone on to increase paying for more abortions not just in this country but also around the world.

I know that you have your tricky double speak to explain away your accountability for it though.

Good luck with that in the unavoidable future.

ALL the Pastors I have sat under preach against homosexuality, against immorality, against abortion, against the government interference in school and church, and against gun control.

Obama and the Democratic party stand for all these things.

Well, I just listened to the Dungy interview, and what I heard was two men on the exact same page. I don't believe you can possibly call one man good, and one bad.

Did you listen, Ken ? I can give you a complete transcript, all you have to do is ask.

No, but study and prayer can only lead in a conservative direction.

Sampson got pretty liberal, when he stopped taking his faith seriously. But he repented, and that story has a happy ending.

Study and prayer will make a person much more sympathetic toward the poor, the sick, the homeless and less interested in corporate profits and retribution against governments we do not agree with. Jesus was not political. He was social. Just look at his life and how he treated people.

Sampson became carnal, not liberal.

Too bad you like to twist words and lie about what you say, because I would love to slam every point you just gave. You have proven yourself not worthy of the time it would take.

People resort to insults when they realize they are wrong but not man enough to admit it.

People twist words for that reason. I'm simply done debating you. You are too dishonest. It's there for all to see.

    Have a nice life.

AMEN! It is interesting that someone claims to be a born-again believer and yet supports someone who does almost everything against what the scripture says ...and then criticizes those who live by the scripture.

The United Methodists are one-world one-religion people who believe that supplying the worldly needs is sufficient. They also accept homosexuality. Maybe you should check into a UMC.

Our BAPTIST church will not give anything to a beggar until he or she has listened to the Gospel first. The church is the purveyor of SPIRITUAL needs, not physical.

So you do not like the United Methodist Church. What does that have to do with my statement about Jesus' teachings on how we treat others.

Why did Jesus pay so much attention to the physical needs of people he met?

What was Jesus' command to his disciples as he prepared to ascend?
Was it "go ye therefore, and feed the hungry" ??? Nope, I don't think so.

Jesus walked about and performed miracles...he gave sight to the blind, he helped the lame man walk, he fed the multitides from a small boy's lunch....are you doing that? No, because that was HIS ministry - to give signs to the Jews. Jews needed signs.

My job as a Christian is to witness to others and bring them to salvation...not to feed them. I will be good to my fellow man, I do volunteeer work outside of the church for the American Legion and for the Cancer Coalition .....but my Mother, a child of the Depression, who is in Heaven now, always said....."God helps those who help themselves". "If you don't work, you don't eat" and other gems of wisdom that this younger generation probably has never heard ... but should adher to.
