    ...from their convention.

    What hypocrites!!!

"Charlotte, North Carolina, the host city for the Democratic National Convention next year to renominate President Obama, has announced that it will not tolerate planned Occupy Wall Street demonstrations. Rather, the city council enacted a series of restrictions on the allowed locations in which protesters can demonstrate and the outright ban on overnight stays.

New York Magazine reports: β€œThe North Carolina city, sometimes called the "Wall Street of the South," is not taking any chances, and is already working to pass an ordinance that would make occupying downtown spaces with tents a "public nuisance," in addition to banning "noxious substances," padlocks, and other camping equipment. The fact that it would knock out the city's current overnight demonstrators is an added bonus.”

Imagine if Tamp Bay, Nashville, Las Vegas, or Baltimore had made that decision first?

The OP is guilty of misrepresenting the facts. From the link:

Charlotte, North Carolina, the host city for the Democratic National Convention next year to renominate President Obama, has announced that it will not tolerate planned Occupy Wall Street demonstrations. Rather, the city council enacted a series of restrictions on the allowed locations in which protesters can demonstrate and the outright ban on overnight stays.

This is not the DNC, but the city council of Charlotte. And it says "working to pass". Not a done deal.

Regardless of your politics, try to be objective. I know. You can't help it.

Well that is true - but the mayor is a "D" and 7 of 10 council men are "D".

Hmm, I wonder if they would do the same thing if the Republicans were to have met in Charlotte next year?

MP, was wondering if you would comment on my thoughts back in post # 2?

    Folks,

The Wall Street people were big supporters of Obama and will be again. NYC is a bastion of liberal/big government supporters. The democrats and Wall Street are in bed together.

It is a myth created by the democrats that Wall street favors Republicans though I will admit that Republicans inside the beltway think they have to carry water for WS.

You folks have heard of Crony-capitalism haven't you? That is Wall Street, the big corporations, and some not so big, swilling pork supplied by the politicians at taxpayer expense!
