    Most politicians began as shysters and that trade carries over. Vote for engineers, warehouse workers, bookkeepers, lab technicians, et al, instead of lawyers for public offices, and that would lessen the I-can-pull-this-trick-but-you're-a-hypocrite-if-you-do pigslop.

    This smacks of Republican revenge over similar charges made against them in 2004 - only the soldier props were alive then, but the best dead American props were the 9-11 victims then.

    Carpro, I believe I have been clear that I despise anyone making use of victims for political gain. Not having seen the commercial in the OP, I cannot comment specifically on it, and as the article was authored by Michael Reagan, I must take it with the proverbial "grain of salt" until I see it myself. I did see the spectacle at the RNC convention, and it was a disgrace.

    You made clear that you despised Republicans if they used the dead for political gain. It was not clear that you would despise democrats who did the same...until now.

    That Iraqis are free and that women in Afghanistan can vote (without their husbands' or fathers' permission).

    Iraqis are free with their own Constitution and democratically elected government. You may not like to acknowledge it, but they are.

    His statement that women can vote is absolutely true in spite of your added caveat.

    Your flip remark was weak and now you're trying to make it stand up. It's not working.
