    TennisNE1, I don't follow tennis that much either. Venus and Serena usually get a lot of pub, but I don't remember hearing much about them. Surely they went to Australia for a Grand Slam event, didn't they?

    I have heard the players complaining about the surface. Do you think the complaints are valid, or should they just shut up and play?

    CC, Venus was outed the first round of play and Serena was outed in the third round. IMO, both are badly out of shape.
    As to the playing surface.....Kim Clijsters turned her ankle and had to retire from the open because of the surface. I think it probably needs to be resurfaced. I'm pretty sure it has too much sand mixed in with whatever else they used to surface the courts.
