    This is ridiculous!
Jesus said we must OBEY His commandments ...
which translates into TRYING ... and REPENTING upon failure.
What Paul said translates into walking in the Spirit, which includes
being a slave to obedience unto righteousness unto holiness
    unto eternal life.

FYI, understanding the spirit and intent of the NT,
not just the English words, is of critical importance!
Those who are being led by the Spirit are given understanding.
Get the Baptism with the Holy Spirit,
which ALL of the NT church leaders had ...
because they were actually called and anointed by God.

What is ridiculous brother, is your avoidance of dealing with the written Word of God. You have this pov that does not appear to come from any honest critique of what has actually been written. You brag about having spiritual understanding, well so did Joseph Smith when he didn't care for what had been written and we were given Mormonism.

DEAL with the Word brother!! Explain how obeying Jesus' commandments is NOT doing the works of the Law! This is YOUR claim that you base your pov on, so EXPLAIN IT!

BTW, No where did Jesus say "TRY" to obey My commandments. You are making that one up also...
