    ANNUAL MEETING This year our annual meeting for the area will be held at Bethany Baptist Church in Detroit on Sunday, May 6 at 3:00 p.m. The guest speaker will be Dr. Joseph L. Roberts, Sr. from Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta. Ebenezer Baptist Church is the home church of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and one of the premier African American pulpits in the country.

    In addition, the Southeastern Area Board, through an annual contribution made by the Detroit Baptist Union, subsidizes $9,000 towards the operation of the Metro office. The Executive Committee asked Southeastern Area members of the Executive Committee and staff to meet with members of the Detroit Baptist Union,

    Southfield -- The American Baptist Churches of Michigan's (ABC-MI) Metro Office will downsize and become an unstaffed office beginning Monday, September 27. This decision is part of the ABC-MI restructuring process initiated earlier in the year and comes after consultation with representatives of the Southeastern Area Board (SEA), Detroit Baptist Union (DBU), and Woodward Endowment.
