    Tear up your calendars, then, fellas, cause even the months of the years were named by those pagans, the Romans, and some months named in honor of their pagan gods.

    I guess the Jewish calendar won't serve your purposes either, since "First, all of these things were never given to Christians, they were given to the Jews."

    If your family celebrated December 25th and didn't reflect on the real meaning of Christmas, only wanting gifts for themselves, then I would respond that as a parent, it was YOUR reponsibility to teach your children what the true reason is we celebrate Christmas - the Birth of Jesus Christ. If it became a selfish unholy day, that is your fault, not that of your Christian brothers and sisters who celebrate His Birth, IMO.

    Glad you brought the BIBLE into this conversation:

    Col. 2:[13] And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
    [14] Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
    [15] And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
    [16] Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
    [17] Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

    Merry Christmas.

    The Calendar is pagan, I won't argue. The difference is you have the CHOICE of celebrating christmas. We use the pagan calendar out of neccesity. If you use the Jewish calendar, no one will know what you're talking about (Unless you're in Israel).

    Does God use the Pagan calendar? I wonder? :D
    I am the Son in this matter. My parents tried to make the excuse we were doing it for the Lord, like most Americans. But christmas is not of the Lord, so to justify it that way is kinda' hard.

    Merry Festive Pagan Holiday ;)

    God's Holy Word does not forbid me to celebrate Christmas as I do. In fact, God's Holy Word preserves the privilege of me esteeming one day over another if I so choose, and permits me to be so convinced in my mind if I so choose. Too bad folks like you feel the need to interfere with that which God's Holy Word guarantees me.
    No it's not. So kindly get off mine.
    I'll call it what I like. It's a Christian holiday in my home, in my family, and in my church, whether you like it or not, and scripture permits it, whether you like it or not.

    I'm with Lady Eagle on this one. Merry Christmas, everyone!!!!
