    From the book of Daniel:

DA 12:8 I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, "My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?"

DA 12:9 He replied, "Go your way, Daniel, because the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end. 10 Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.

I'm thinking no because some of the things we have now were not around at that time and they would not have had the words to describe them in their day's language.

Just my opinion...which if you understood that run-on sentence of mine, I give you an A++ lol

Many times, the prophets didn't understand all the prophecies God gave them, as the examples show.

In Revelation, John described the things he saw as best as his 1st centurey understanding permitted. He describes a meteor as a "great burning mountain" and I believe his description of "locusts" is some kind of flying war machine; the sound he describes as chariots of many horses sounds quite like a fleet of helicopters. (You other military vets may remember that sound!)

However, the prophets understood clearly when God told them He was going to send Israel and Judah into captivity for their sins.

As long as they stepped out in Faith and trusted God first. The content may have seemed bizarre but if that is the will of God, so be it!

I don't think they did, but I'm thankful that they were obedient and wrote it down!

I dont think the Prophet John understood half of what was revealed to him because much of what he saw was of this era and he wrote about what he saw the best way he could possibly describe what was revealed to him.
I would have no doubt Daniel did not understand all of what was revealed to him concerning prophecies that are yet to be fulfilled.

and I think the Prophet Zechariah had trouble understanding what was given to him as well

    To answer with a question.

Did any of them ever fully comprehend a prophecy, except when God (or His messenger) showed them the meaning?

The proof of prophecy has always been in the fulfillment of it. At the time it is likely that many prophecies were viewed as the mindless ramblings of the prophets and there is no question that some prophecies, especially those that would be fulfilled hundreds and thousands of years later, were not understood by the prophets themselves. The prophecies relating to Christ were not understood until His birth, and many of then were denied even then.
